Kikimu started to nod and then stopped, she could understand younger siblings, but older? That wasn't possible..was it? She looked at Anju the question on her face.
"H-how do I have older siblings?" She turned at him curiously, who had stepped out on their relationship, was mom even old enough to have children before they were born? She hadn't thought so. "And..how many younger siblings?" She asked that question more toward Shani than to her father, she was their mother..or should be.
Anju was a little startled at Wahabu's beginning, older siblings? She had never met another lion in the pride that looked remotely like Intombi or Wahabu growing up. Where were they? Who were they? Who was their father? Questions swirled in the brown lioness' mind as she speculated what had happened.

"It's a long story, I didn't even know about them until they were all grown up and you lot were almost all grown up," he admitted, frowning and trying to think how best to explain it, "When I was younger, there was a time I had trouble with my visions and wasn't getting quite enough sleep and was having trouble figuring out what was me and now and what was something and someone else entirely."
It wasn't a good excuse but it was all true.
"Their mother was from a pride that worshiped my mother, she had some issues with her and so used me to get grandcubs that my mother should never have been able to find or know," he explained, it was Amadet's craziness that really excused his part in this, "I don't know everything that was going through her mind but it was important to her and then she couldn't keep it to herself. Mother found out, found them and found a way to keep their mother away from them and us. She abandoned them anyway, in the Swamps. That's how Acha and her siblings knew we were here, their aunts recognized them."
He sighed, "There are six of them, and I've met five. Pepo, Siyara, Moyo'abu, Kinyamkela and Kimya'kizuka came here shortly after you and Anju left. Kinyamkela lives with her mate and cubs between here and the Kusini now. Shemshi never made it here and only mother has seen her, so she's out there somewhere."
"Kinya and her family visit every once in a while, you have one nieces and three nephews through her," Shani added, finishing up the little story about the swamp brood before addressing their own cubs, "We have four cubs of our own now, three girls and a boy, Akisukari, Tamu'ini, Habibu and Oha-mele. They still quite small and I'm sure they'll be very excited to meet you two."
She offered an encouraging smile. They had just thrown a whole bunch of names out at Kiki but now she knew.

Long story was certainly right, Kikimu's mind reeled at the explanation of her older siblings. Six older siblings..six...six! Kikimu had never once thought that her family was small to being with, but now? Now it was far beyond a large family. Kikimu flexed her claws in the earth, a nervous habit, looking at Wahabu.
"I'm a little shocked," she mumbled dumbly, "I didn't expect things to be so different..not that I expected them to be the sam-- you know?" There were so many names to remember! How could she? How would she?
"Can I meet them?" She asked of Shani, "I'd really like to see the little ones."
The fear crept back up in Anju at her mates last statement, she wanted to meet her siblings..but they were also just cubs..and cubs meant Kiki would fawn and get cub fever. Last Spring the pair had run into a rogue family with four cubs and Kikimu was in angst over them for months.
"It would be nice to put faces to names," she agreed.

"Yes, a lot has changed," he agreed, offering a meek smile as his daughter mumbled, "But you've been gone for quite some time." Habu had to stop himself from mentioning her step-siblings now. They were actually her cousins and she knew of them already but now they were all much closer, and Enzi had cubs too. There really were a lot of them around now. He simply let himself trail off, letting Shani answer the question addressed to her.
"Of course," she answered, pushing herself back up to her feet and nudging at Habu affectionately. He'd made it through telling Kiki, she was stunned but she obviously didn't hate him for it. They hadn't really expected her to but there was always the worry of what they would think.
"We left them with Manny when he brought his girls over to play," she said, chuckling, "We might be in for a bit of trouble."

"It is so much to take in..I am not mad, I can't be. I haven't been around and I suppose I might have reacted differently if I was here while everything was happening," Kikimu felt the need to explain her present state of mind, 'I'm taken aback, I am happy that you have love dad, you both seem to be very happy." She gave as warm a smile as she could as she watched Shani nudge Wahabu.
"You left Manny alone with cubs?" Anju allowed herself to laugh now, she wouldn't have before, "I still can't believe he even has children..it just seems odd." Anju stood stretching and watched as Kiki did the same. It felt odd to think that Kiki's siblings had children, and perhaps her own did as well.

He sighed. It was a relief, now everybody knew. And he could focus on just being happy that she was around! It was wonderful. He smiled more genuinely when Anju laughed about leaving the cubs alone with Manny.
"They'll be fine, it's him we're not so sure about," he said, laughing himself now. While outnumbered, Manuku really was the one in more trouble. He was there with eight of them right now. It would surely be quite entertaining- and then quite exciting when everybody realized that Kiki and Anju were here.
"Just wait until you meet them," Shani said, smiling, "They're quite the little bunch of girls." She looked to Habu when he voiced their 'concern' and shook her head.
"Come on, we'll show you," she said.
