❧Daughter of Athena Max walked toward the climbing wall with a crooked grin. Couldn't have imagined anything looking that simple. A regular old climbing wall. Piece of cake, she thought. Stepping on a foothold, Max began slowly climbing the wall. Then a rock fell down and lava squirted out from a hole above her. She pressed herself more against the wall to get out of its range. Note to self: falling rocks and spews of burning hot lava may occur while climbing this wall. She continued to slowly make her way to the top, going to the side every now and then to avoid a falling rock. Within a few minutes she reached the top. Max stole a glance at her arm, finding a scrape from her elbow to her wrist. Stupid rock, she thought and tried to stray all thoughts from the cut."If you want to change yourself, you have to discover who you are first." ❧ Max

Derek continued to swing his legs over the edge of the wall. He glanced at Jinx arm and winced slightly at the sight of the blood. "My father's Ares." He shrugged and looked back over the camp grounds, the sun beginning to set. "And who's your Godly Parent? Or do you not know yet?"

"I'm not a freak. I'm just me, so deal with it." -Jinx Hansen Jinx heard Derek wince, she chuckled lightly. "My mother's Eris," she said and another bead of crimson appeared from the scratch, a little bigger than the last one. She wiped it off with her index finger, then she moved a lot closer to Derek, but not too close and put her bloody index finger close to his face. "Scared of blood?" She asked and wiggled her finger in front of him.

She saw a girl randomly wiggle her bloody finger in some guy's face, and raised an eyebrow. Americans are so strange nowadays... She sat up, and looked down at the ground before her. Not quite a long way down... Miranda shook her head. Where to next? Creek? Beach? She bit the inside of her cheek, and stayed there a while longer before starting down the wall. A boulder came tumbling down after her, and almost crushed her to a million pieces. She didn't have time to think, for a spew of hot lava got her right arm, causing her to lose her footing. To make matters worse, another boulder came down the wall, directly towards her. Miranda had no time to move, as she gallantly jumped about twelve feet down to the ground. She landed on her feet, shaking slightly. She took a shaky breath, before sitting down on the ground. Miranda took a look at her arm. It was scraped and bloody. She groaned, and rested her head on her good arm. Another note to self: Pay attention when climbing down a climbing wall. Horrible consequences...

She asked and wiggled her finger in front of him. Derek rolled his eyes. "Of course I'm not afraid of blood." He leaned away from her finger, keeping his eyes on the dark red liquid that stayed in place on her finger. "That would be stupid..." He trailed off.

"I'm not a freak. I'm just me, so deal with it. -Jinx Hansen Jinx rolled her eyes, then she stuck her tongue out, then licked the blood off of her index finger and swallowed. "That would be stupid," she said, then tilted her head a little to the left and smiled. "Don't worry, I won't tell anyone about your phobia," she opened her eyed and her blue-gray eyes focused on Derek. "Well, maybe I'll tell your dad, see what he'll say..." She trailed off, then she chuckled. "Kidding."

Derek glared at her for a moment. "It's not a phobia." He sighed and lightened up a bit. "If my dad found out I was afraid of blood... Gods I can't even imagine what he'd say to me." He shuddered slightly knowing Ares wouldn't be very happy.

She asked Derek, then her laughing subsided. "I'm amazed you didn't shudder at me licking my own blood," she said and looked at the sunset. "You'll need to conquer your fear before your fear conquers you life," she looked back at Derek and pulled the elastic out, then smiled at him. "I know that was random."

Derek rolled his eyes and looked back down over the edge of the climbing wall. "I highly doubt my fear of blood will conquer my life." He laughed and pulled his legs up, resting his feet on the edge of the wall- his arms wrapped around his knees.

It must be hard for him to be a son of Ares and be scared of blood. She thought to herself and smiled lightly at Derek.

As gale approached the climbing wall he noticed other kids around he sucked in a little having distrusted most people his whole life and not particulary enjoying the thought of gettin to know strangers. As he walked up he grabed the first hand hold and relized this was gonna be a lot differnt then dodging cars in the city as he began climbing and a rock flung by scraping his shoulder. " Who ever thouht this up had a sic sense of humor " gale squealed at the top of his lungs finally jumping up the wall hitting hand holds in rapid succesion.

As gale was making his way furthur up he could see people up top, this distracted him just long enough to not notice the lava till it was almost on top of him, he relized this didn't look good so as he closed his eyes and waited for the worst his body began to move as he dodged evrything one at a time as it came till he scrambled up coming up to the top were he got a view he considered breathtaking and just sat to admire it for a while till he rlized the guy and girl sitting next to him.
