Kofuku stood frozen as Seth spoke, the Elite's words causing her blood to run cold. For the second time this week, she felt her stomach suddenly begin to cramp up, and slowly, she placed her hand over her stomach, hoping she wasn't going to lose her lunch again. Her hands started shaking, and the slowly the trembling went up her entire body as she realized where this conversation was going.

Trying to say something, she found her voice was no where to be found. For the first time in her life, she genuinely felt she wasn't going to be leaving this room, and she stared silently at Seth with fear stricken over her. Her life was literally in this man's hands.

There was a hollow taktaktak from the air ducts.

He noticed her reaction right away. It was hard to miss after all. As soon as Kofuku's face went pale, a condescending smirk crossed his features. Folding his arms across his chest, Seth looked about ready to continue... until he heard the strange tapping sounds from the air ducts above.

Immediately his smirk changed to a frown. Crap. It was back. However, he pretended to ignore the ominous sound and instead kept the majority of his attention on Kofuku.

Now then, back to business. "If you're done dawdling, show me what other worthless Pokemon you have. I don't have all day."

Hopefully the black dust bunny would go away.

She wanted to tell him that her pokemon weren't worthless, that she'd sent out her weakest first. She wanted to tell him she wasn't worthless. Still, no voice came to her mouth, and she just numbly nodded her head a little. Hands still trembling, she unhooked the ball from her belt and held it out.

"Nina. Stand." Her voice was cracked and came out as an unfamiliar sound to her. She stood watching Seth, unaware of the sounds coming from the air ducts; her focus was on him and him alone.

Nina immediately sensed that something was wrong with her trainer, and she turned her head a little to catch a glimpse of the girl. The look Kofuku had reminded her back in the gym, but this time was different, this time she'd been called out to fight. The little pokemon's back flames shot out, and she stood ready to defend the person who'd picked her out of the garbage.

Above Seth's head, the grate rattled as a fan switched on.

Hearing the fan turn on, Seth's frown deepened a little. Perhaps he had just been imagining things.

When the Cyndaquil appeared, he scanned it as well and sighed. A rather typical Cyndaquil with standard beginning attacks. Kofuku was obviously a novice, but at least it was a step up from the Eevee. Still, he figured it was best to end this quickly.

Taking a ball from his belt, Seth tossed it in the air. "Earthquake!" he shouted just as the red beam emerged... and grew.... and grew some more. A gigantic Wailord appearing in the air, casting a shadow on everyone in the room. The whale succumbed to gravity and swiftly dropped from above to flop on the ground with a heavy thud. Causing the floor to shake heavily, which was likely felt and heard on the entire level and the ones above and below.

"Waaaaaaaaaaaail" the gigantic pokemon bellowed. Its beady eyes blinking.

Staring with wide eyes as the pokemon appeared, Kofuku watched as it crashed into the ground. Already shaking herself, the floor moved violently below her. Finding herself unable to make her legs move fast enough to catch her footing, she lost her balance and fell backwards. Pushing her hands behind her to catch her fall, she landed hard.

Wincing a little at the sting from the fall, she got up to her knees slowly when the shaking stopped, staring first that the giant pokemon that made her blink a few times in shock, then at Nina, who hadn't stood a snowball's chance in hell. "Nina, return..." Her voice was hardly above a whisper as she called back the pokemon. Still shaking, she pushed herself to her feet, stumbling a little before she caught herself and straightened up.

As the room shook, something floated down in front of the elite's nose.

It was a piece of stuffing.

The reaction from Kofuku certainly made releasing the Wailord worth it. Despite the interruption its heavy fall probably had caused on the surrounding floors of the building. The elite having kept his footing the entire time.

The Float Pokemon wiggled a bit, unable to move much since it was out of water.

Seth was about to lecture Kofuku further on strengthening her Pokemon... when a piece of stuffing floated down in front of his face. His eyes narrowed at it, for he knew what it was. He'd certainly seen enough stuffing the other day, and after, to recognize it.

Tilting his head back to cast his glare up at the ceiling he shouted. "I know you're up there!" Certain that the menace could hear him. "Damn vermin," he muttered while looking back to Kofuku. "Release your other Pokemon already!" The Wailord soon vanished into its Pokeball, leaving a shallow but large indentation in the dirt floor of the arena.

It was when Seth yelled at the ceiling a rather confused look came over Kofuku's still pale face. They were alone, right? So who in the world was he yelling to? Too afraid to ask him about it, she sent out her next Pokemon.

"Hercules!" She yelped out as the Totodile appeared. Immediately, she ducked herself down as the spray of water went right over her head. Yeah, he was still pissed at her. "Freakin new pokemon..." She grumbled as the water stopped, straightening herself back up and giving a rather upset glare to the pokemon as her pale cheeks turned bright red. Seth was going to have a field day yelling at her for this one; the brighter note was that he'd probably K.O. this stupid thing with one hit.

Finishing dusting herself off, there was a rather obvious look of irritation and disgust towards the pokemon she'd never gotten a chance to really work with. Then she looked up and waited for Seth to send out the next slaughter-house pokemon. Momentarily, her own fear was replaced by the irritation she had towards the unruly Totodile; it was like Nina all over again.

As expected of an inanimate object, the air duct did not respond.

Seth looked rather unimpressed as the Totodile turned around and attacked its own trainer. "You know, the purpose of Pokemon training is to actually train your Pokemon."

How pathetic. Not only did she fail at giving her Pokemon decent moves, but they didn't even listen to her.

He would be doing a favor by actually taking out the Totodile, but at this point, he didn't really even care. This was just a sorry sight and a sorry battle altogether. Her Pokemon weren't even strong enough to put up a fight.

Another Pokemon was released, and this time it was a large dazzling white Salamence. "Go! Dragon Claw!" With a flap of its mighty wings, the dragon effortlessly cruised through the air towards the Totodile. Aiming a swipe at it with its powerful claws.

"Too new, Sir, haven't had time to break him...." Kofuku really didn't look pleased herself about this certain pokemon herself.

At this point, Kofuku had simply given up trying to fight back. There wasn't a point when your opponent was going to strike you down in one attack. However, the Totodile had something else in mind and went to jump out of the way all while shooting a water gun attack at the Salamence. However, the Hero-bent pokemon's efforts weren't enough and he also found himself passed out on the ground.

"Hercules, return." Kofuku said, holding the ball out as she called her pokemon back. She had one last pokemon left to fight; Gizmo.

Seth just looked on in his disapproval.

"That's hardly an excuse."

The Salamence flew back over to Seth once the Totodile had fainted. Shaking the little bit of water off him before getting returned to his pokeball.

"This has to be the most pathetic team I've seen yet. Do you have anything else?"

Honestly, he didn't really want to see anything else. He hoped that was all she had so it would just end already. It was like beating up a baby.

Taking a deep breath, Kofuku held out her last ball. "Gizmo, stand." Out of the ball sprouted the newly evolved Pikachu, and the girl felt a small quirk of a smile on her lips as his cheek pads crackled in a little bit of electricity. He was by far the pokemon she'd done some actual training with, especially in speed and agility.

"Gizmo, stay alert, on your toes." She warned him, even though she knew there probably wasn't going to be much to avoid since Seth's pokemon were so much higher in level than hers.
