Gojyo tilted his head some when she didn't really give an answer at first, but he wasn't going to question it. Instead, he just glanced back to the sky. It was when he felt her move away from his side that he looked back to the small mare. He gave her a slight questioning look as she seemed uncomfortable about something and kicked at the grass lightly with a hoof.
He was just about to ask if evertything was alright when she suddenly blurted out her announcement. His eyes widened at the suddeness of it, at first though, he didn't catch what she had said, the words sort of meshing together. Eventually, he was able to manage to piece... or pull apart, her words and stood there.
That was some unexpected news. It seems that his flirting ways lead to another set of foals. This time though, he-he wasn't going to let the results of this batch be the same. Yes, unfortunately, in the end he won't stay with this mare, but he won't just abandon her immediately. With that, he stepped close to her again and nudged her cheek lightly. "I-I'm sorry if this caused you any problems. If you want, I will stick around to help with the baskets and the foals."

This was not how she meant to tell him. Not that she had planned telling him at all. In fact, she had never expected to see him again, and while she had reconciled herself to that fact, it had left her feeling rather numb, she hadn’t wanted to bare foals and raise them on her own, them never knowing their father. Hell, she’d never intended to have foals until she found a mate who would stand beside her through everything, but one night of attentions from a handsome stranger after months of loneliness changed her dreams and plans. But seeing him again, she had been rather happy. Then she had to open her mouth and ruin it.
She mistook the moment of silence it took for him to interpret her words and have them sink in as a rejection of sorts. It was a pain she had hoped to spare herself by not letting him know at all. Even if it seemed cruel to deprive him of the right to know his foals. It was her curse, she decided, that she had such a tender and compassionate heart, one that was being torn out of her chest even now. His hasty words, the offer to be there for her and the foals, well, it probably stemmed from guilt. And that was a pain she could not bare.
She backed away from his gentle nudge, needing to put some space between them in order to do what she felt she must. She would not accept his help, his charity. She would not be a burden. She lifted her head proudly, hoping that her voice wouldn’t waver as she said what she felt she needed to say. “I don’t need your sympathy or concern.” She took a deep breath. “I would not burden you with my problems. I just felt it only right that you should know… and now you do, so I guess this is good-bye, Gojyo.”
She turned, prepared to walk away from this all.

He was actually quite greatful that she told him, though it did seem that she initially didn't want to tell him at all. It would be much better for him to find out now that she was pregnant, rather than him finding out later about the foals. He would have felt even worse if that was the case, that again he messed up, and again he couldn't do a thing to help. But now, he knew before the mare showed even the faintest sign of expecting and this time he could be prepared... that is, if she had accepted his offer.
At her comment, he blinked. Burden?! He thought with a tilt of his head. What makes her think she would be a burden? He wondered. It was surely a surprise that she declined his offer. He watched her for a moment as she turned and prepared to walk away. With a snort, he stomped a hoof before moving to stand in front of her, a serious look on his face. "Now, who said you would be a burden? In all honesty, if I thought you would be a burden, I wouldn't have offered." He told her, tail giving a light flick. "Also, this isn't about pity or guilt, I truly want to help you during this time. I'm sure pregnancy is a trial as it is... I'm sure it's even worse when one is alone. So please... let me help."

The small mare was rather relieved, though she would never show it. She had been more than ready, once she discovered her condition, to go through the pregnancy by herself. Or maybe not so much by herself, she would have gone to her mentor near the end, though it pained her to realise that it might be a disappointment to her. After all, this wasn't what Liliah had wanted, having children with no mate, but what was done was done. She would make the most of it.
There was a part of the mare that feared that if she accepted the stallion's help, no matter how earnest it seemed, well he would more than likely come to regret it. She feared coming to rely on him, and having him abandon her. She knew she had no claim on the stallion, but knew she would grow attatched, and be heartbroken in the end.
But her thoughts turned to the life growing in her womb. They deserved to know their daddy. In the end, her compassionate heart decided for her. No matter how it ended up for her, she would accept the stallion's offer.
"Very well."She sighed lightly.

Gojyo waited, almost on baited breath, for the mare's answer. He hoped she would let him help her out with the pregnancy before the foals arrive. He wanted to make up for previous mistakes he made with his first batch of kids, but he still wasn't ready to settle down... at least, not with this mare. She isn't the one. He thought, a bit forlornly.
Now, even if she said no, it wouldn't be a big deal. He would respect her wishes, but he would still seek her out to get to know the foals. If she did agree and they finally went their own way, even then, he would be in better touch with the foal that Liliah departs with. This brought another saddening thought to his mind, on how he doesn't even know where his only daughter is or if she's alright. He could be a grandparent or even great grandparent and not even know it. It was only recently that his second son started coming by, and he would rather be with his mother and bicker -if one can call it bickering- with his little brother. The stallion sighed and shook the thoughts from his head as he went back to waiting on the small mare's answer.
When she finally gave him an affirmative answer, he gave her a small smirk. He stepped closer to her and nuzzled the top of her head lightly, brushing some of her hair from her eyes with his nose. "Thank you." He said softly, knowing full well she didn't have to say yes.

She didn’t know why it was so important to the stallion for him to be a part of her life during the pregnancy, but since it was… well, it was going to be difficult enough, and she was greatful she would have help and company through the ordeal. Though she would never admit to anyone, she was frightened. She hadn’t wanted to deal with it on her own, and now she wouldn’t.
As she simply enjoyed the gentle touches, she planned. Yes, she would allow him to help throughout the pregnancy and for a short while after the foals were born before taking one and going her own way. This way she would get the chance to know her children, even if only a little.

He continued to nuzzle her softly a bit longer before pulling away slightly and looking in the direction of his teepee. The stallion felt that it would be too much to suggest her coming to his teepee with him to have the foals, so he decided to stay with her. Mikhail was old enough to fend for himself now and he had nothing else to do there anyways, so it wasn't like he was going to be missed any. So, until the foals were old enough to walk, he will be with the small mare at his side.
