Carmine nodded her head silently thinking, 'You better.' If he didn't, well there was just no guarantee that she would be there when he came back to find her. If he ever bothered to come back at all. She watched as he departed until he could no longer be seen. At that point she turned, trotted over to the edge of the pond and flung herself into the water.
For several minutes she thrashed around in the water allowing it's resistance to take her excess energy from her. All the anger and frustration that had settled inside her in the past few moments drained away until she was left in her normal state. Soaking wet with pink hair clinging to her body but normal for Carmine. Then she trudged back onto the shore and flopped down glaring at the last place he had seen him silently hoping that he was run into a tree or trip over a rock. Just enough for him to suffer just a little bit. That would make her feel better.
And she sincerely hoped that it would all be worth it. The unfulfilled desires. The long wait to come. Everything. It all better be worth it and he better make good on his word. Or, heaven help the man, he would never even glimpse her again. Then letting her wings relax and unfold slightly she lay her head on the ground and waited for sleep to claim her. Maybe she would just sleep the next few days away.
