"Why shouldn't I?" She smiled softly. "Not all think as I do, it's true.. but a ripple grows slowly.. however.. some one has to start the ripples don't they?" She giggled some. "It's a shame that your heard felt the sting of bitter closed mindedness.. but fear is a strong enemy.. fear of the unknown is worse yet.. At least you still remember your herd? I left mine so long ago and so young that I don't recall is I had any real family.." She seemed to be dwelling on family lately which troubled her some. she'd never thought of them before so why now? Shrugging it away she stowed the thought in the back of her mind to be assessed later on. Still she smiled ever warm and friendly. "Perhaps you just need to meet a few more and show them you're not as 'scary' as they think you are..."

"I don't remember my herd as much as I used to. I had a brother and there was a mare I cared deeply for. They couldn't... or wouldn't go against the herd when I was banished," Illidan sighed. "I barely remember them now, just ghosts at the edges of my mind." He nodded at her suggestion, considering it. "Perhaps I should meet others. At the very least it will show me who is worth talking to."

She nodded some. "True." She glanced back at the shadows of the forest and couldn't help but to giggle some. "I think a few animals have come out to see the spectacle..." She pointed in the direction of a hoot owl that had landed on a tree to watch the two conversing. "It's sad when others falter from their set in ways some times.. unwilling to change their path just because they fear what could happen if they go against the popular vote. Ah, c'est la vie c'est l'amour c'est la guerre." She smiled back at him. "I fear maybe you might feel more comfortable back in the shadows, no? so how about we fade into them as best as we can so the flying predators don't mistake me for an easy target." She couldn't help but to laugh. a merry sound that carried in the air most melodiously in the night.

Illidan walked with her to the clearing's edge. "I would not let a predator harm you in my presence. It wouldn't be right." Not after she'd shown him kindness as she had. "It is sad that they would not change their opinion of what I am now despite having known me all my life. I can't really hold fault with them. They would not have endeared the hardships as readily as I did."

She shrugged some. why were others so ofter as weak willed? She pondered on this some before smiling. "We may never know if they would have or not.. others tend to do miraculous things when they set their mind to it.. I left home as a foal and never looked back.. I set my mind on travels and adventures even if they took me far far away." She smiled wide. "And though it doesn't seem like suck a feat I've been through places that made it quite.... difficult to get to where I am now. The point is don't judge a mountain by it's rocks." She nods hoping that all made some sense to him. And I thank you for feeling that you would protect me from the creepers of the night. "She chuckled warmly. "So, what do you call home now? or are you still looking for that little patch of land that suits your tastes?"

Illidan shook his head. "If they would have, they'd be here with me now. They made their choice." He shrugged off the rest of what she said till she asked her question. "I was hoping to make this forest home, but it seems a lot of others inhabit it. More than I expected. I suppose I am, in a sense, still looking."

"The forest is not so small.. perhaps you could still make it home. I don't know how many others really travel in the forest really.. most I've seen in here were either lost or.. passing through. Besides, you never know if you decide to stay you may make some new friends that don't shy away.. some who look past the exterior vision. Not that you look hideous or anything just..." She felt as though she had really put her hoof in her mouth that time.. "I only mean that some judge by only what they see and not who the individual is.." She cast her eyes downward unsure if she had insulted or even upset him.

"I know how I look," Illidan said, not offended. "I don't mind meeting others, but having a place to retreat to for privacy would be nice as well. Too often since coming to the forest I've been caught unawares by passers-by." He shrugged, looking back at her. "I'm used to solitude. Being thrust into so much social activity is unsettling."

"Ah, I get it.. you want you're own little safe haven.. like how i have my pond..." She stopped short.. she had told only one other about her place for solitude and that was her friend whom was like a sister. "Hmm.. you know.. I've found all sorts of secluded areas.. nice for hiding.. there's a cave.. though I didn't fully examine that place.. so who knows might have a bear living in it..." She chuckled some. "If you need any help I'm glad to help." She smiled brightly. she was always happy to help. "If not it's ok too.. I figure you may just want to find it on your own so even some one like me couldn't stumble upon you."

The stallion nodded. "I'd prefer finding a home on my own. That way I won't be happened upon and only those that visit will be those that I tell." He moved to a tree and moved to bump it hard with his shoulder, knocking loose a few fruit to the forest floor. "You may have some if you wish. I'll bet you're hungry after your walk out here." He craned his neck down to munch on some of the fruit.

Her ears stopped swiveling, as they often did ever keeping watchful for any sounds of her surrounding, to the sound of the thudding of fruit hitting the ground. With another mareish smile, she looked at some of the fruit and giggled. "True.. I am a little bit hungry, a snack wouldn't hurt anything." Lowering her head, she picked up one of the fallen fruit in her mouth gingerly and bit into it, savoring the sweet taste. She munched on that one piece for a small while before moving on to another one. Her roses slid slightly forward on her head as it stayed lowered till she was finished with her snack and rose her head once more only to shake the roses back into place with a small toss of her head. "Thank you. I had almost forgotten about the occasional fruit bearing trees that can be found in the forest."

"It's one of the reasons I like it here besides the wild game so readily available," Illidan answered, nodding. "It also reminds me of the land far away that I was born in. Quiet, lush.. dark." He looked around appreciatively. "But not as secluded." He smiled at Shoshana. "Which might not be a bad thing."

"Well, good luck finding yer own safe haven. I'd show you mine.. but it's quite some distance from where we currently are.." She smiled almost causing her eyes to squint. "But I'd be happy to chat with you if ever you are feeling lonely and be your friend. While seclusion is nice.. I think you may grow to like not being so cut off from the world around." She giggled some till she took in a breath. A familiar scent filled her nose and her ears perked as she looked around the small clearing for a moment. "That's odd.. I could have sworn I had smelt a plant i remember eating as a foal..." Shrugging she turned her attention back on him.

"I like my privacy and being able to retreat to it when I can, that doesn't mean I want to be cut off. I'm just wary of others now," Illidan said, then tilted his head at her remark on the scent. "Are you sure it's not just the roses you wear?"

"I can understand being wary. " She nodded then cocked her head to the side at his question. "Quite sure.. roses don't smell of licorice..." She giggled softly. "Though the roses do smell yummy sometimes."
