Everyone is changing There's no one left that's real To make up your own ending And let me know just how you feel
Silas was walking until someone plowed him down. He was flat on his back with swears exploding from his mouth. When he sat up someone was apologizing to him and a dog was barking. Silas glanced up to see Jinx.
Silas had always thought that Jinx had looked prettier than other demon girls had. Not that he was looking of course.
Silas stood up slowly, holding onto his head for only a second. "hello," he greeted Jinx, offering her a hand up on her feet.

"Hi..."She said, embarrassed, grabbing his hand and standing up. "I'm really sorry about that. I wasn't paying attention." She explained as she nervously tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. I'm such an idiot... She put her hand behind her slightly and found Tratnona's hand, petting it gently and shutting the Shepard up.

"Hello, lovebirds." With an overly dramatic flapping of her wings, Acacia jumped down from her vantage point to stand next to Silas and Jinx. "Feeling the stars and suns in your heads?" she said, prowling around the two. "Oops, excuse me, I forgot you're not angels. Now what exactly do demons feel when they're in love?" May I introduce Acacia, bored as always, and ready for trouble.

"Less than the general hatred and despise they feel for you," Silas said without missing a beat. He always hated Acacia and that she was interrupting his moment with Jinx was even worse. "Lacking disdain, malice, ill-will, spite, and malevolence generally directed at you if you need clarification," he said with a smirk.

Acacia, possibly the most unliked person in the demonic world. Jinx, on the other hand, never really minded her. Mostly she felt bad; being so unliked must be repulsively awful. As much as people didn't go out of their way to talk to others, they didn't avoid most like the bubonic plague.
"Hello, Acacia." Jinx said as neutrally as she could after Silas was finished with his obscenely long line of dark words. "Did you get bored of torturing other demons?" She asked, a sly smirk spreading slightly across her face. "I mean, it's only been a Milena or so, but come one, doesn't it get dull after the first decade?"A joking tone broke through her neutral tone and she attempted to cover it up by playing with her hair, hoping it would go unnoticed.

Acacia, still winding her way around Silas, slid her hand across his face in what could be interpreted as both a flirtatious and/or threatening gesture. "You're such a flatterer, big guy. Call me sometime?" Then she turned to Jinx - and yes, she had noticed the joking tone. "Something up with your hair, dear? Here, I'll get it..." She took a long finger and tucked Jinx's stray strand of hair into the perfect place. Was Acacia annoying? Absolutely! But was she gifted at appearances? When you have bat wings and horns, you kind of have to be. "I 'torture other demons' because I'm bored, silly," she said as she tucked in the strand, securing it with a tiny twist. "You just happened to walk under my post, is all." She let go of Jinx's hair and turned so she could see the both of them. "I don't suppose you've heard of the new attack plan on the angels?"

Silas resisted slapping Acacia across the face. "The Angels are the least of our problems. Anyone can see that. Our ranks are thinned by Wild Ones triple as much as any Angel army does. They are who we really need to attack. Angels have become a secondary battlefield," Silas replied. It was pretty much true. Demons escaped their demise for a cozy little bungalow in the forest.

Jinx blushed slightly as Acacia adjusted and twisted her hair. She had to admit, though Acacia was a bit annoying, she was nice if you ignored it.
Against her will, her anger flared at the mention of the Wild Ones. About 50 years ago, they had killed pretty much the only demon she got closed to. "We need to thin their numbers as they have continually thinned ours." She commented, her normally light voice was now dark. "And it's not only us that they attack; It's also those Angels. What if we were to offer our help at a bit of revenge?" I've waited 50 years for payback. Jinx held back the malicious smile that was dieing to lie on her face.

Acacia rolled her eyes. "Well, go talk to the Head Demons, dearies. I'm not the one in charge. But a little bird told me that there's an angel patrol around the Wild Ones' borders, and the Top Devils want to corner them there. On one side they'd have the Wild Ones' camp, on us attacking on the other. Get my drift? I wouldn't be surprised if I'm ordered out tomorrow. You two should be on your toes, too."

Mordecai stood with her back to the other warrior angels in her troop and her face in the direction of the Wild Ones' camp. They were not in seeing distance of it yet, but tonight they would be on the move again and by tomorrow morning they would be in position to at least kidnap some informants. She did not move as a male angel, slightly younger than her, walked up to her. "Mordecai?" She nodded. "Are we attacking for feathers tomorrow?" 'For feathers' meant kidnapping. 'For wings' meant bloodshed. "Unfortunately, we are," she said, her voice husky and low. The young angel paused. "Why don't we attack for wings? We have the advantage. We're the best warriors the angels have." Mordecai turned to face him this time. She took in his hundred-year-old baby face, his eager grip on his short sword, his wings that had hardly been cut in his few skirmishes. With an expression of experience that outdated even her six hundred years, she tried to explain. "Angels are angels because we are innocent and pure of heart. We know the difference between good and harm. To mindlessly slay, simply because we share different views, would by hypocrisy to all we are." The young one piped up, "But they say you have slain many and that your halberd has speared souls!" Mordecai held the halberd in her hand as if it were a standard declaring the Holy Word. She lifted the young one's chin so that he would see the seriousness in her eyes. "Sometimes, we do use violence. It is an attempt to speak to those who are not angels in a language they understand. We will take whatever measures are necessary to gain the upper hand in this Holy War, but always remember: we are angels. Our actions must be pure, not selfish or rash. Do you understand?" "I... I think I do." "Then go and sleep. When the sun sets we will by flying again." And Mordecai turned back to her post.

They painted up your secrets With the lies they told to youAnd the least they ever gave you Was the most you ever knew Abby flew to her tree, careful to fold her wings as tightly against her body as possible. The white of her wings would stand out strongly against the shadows and night. She looked around, straining her eyes against the night to see any movement.
And I wonder where these dreams go When the world gets in your way What's the point in all this screaming? No one's listening anyway

Mordecai flew in a straight line, leading her warriors in a V-formation like geese used to in the living world. The other angels behind her, especially the young ones, flew with a few loops and swoops to survey the land. Mordecai, however, flew straight and level, with no inclination that she was doing anything she was not used to. The only time she moved something other than her wings was around midnight, when she pulled up vertically. She signaled to her warriors: White wings, where I point. The youngest angel signaled back: I can't see it. Use your eyes. Can't see it. You doofus. The young angel didn't actually understand the last signal, as it wasn't part of their formal training. Mordecai flew closer to them and spoke in a whisper. "There, against those trees. There's a tiny sliver of white if you look." The young angel squinted. "I still don't -" "Look with the Holy Ghost," Mordecai said darkly, running out of patience with him. The young one opened his mouth in an 0 formation. 'Looking with the Holy Ghost' was more of a theory than anything scientifically proven, but the angels trained in it anyway. The idea was to let the Higher Being guide your sight, letting you see that which is necessary for you to see. When all the angels could see the tiny white feather Mordecai had seen, they swooped closer to the ground. They would fly skimming the grass, where scouts were least likely to look.

A low horn rang through the underground halls. Acacia turned toward the source and grinned like a wolf. "Told you, didn't I? We're being summoned. Gotta go, demon killer business and all. You lovebirds coming?"

They painted up your secrets With the lies they told to youAnd the least they ever gave you Was the most you ever knew Abby saw other white wings in the night. She tightened her own wings to her body, although to have the completely out of sight was hard. She swore she heard whispers.
She looked up, hoping her black hair might cover some more feathers. Above her was the best invention that the Wild Ones had come up with. Nobody knew about it because the cities were generally well hidden.
Deep within the tangled branches of the tree that rose above her was a giant dome. Crystals had been positioned on the inside to shine in every direction. Some demons who had changed sides helped develop it with the same light that lit their cities.
Abby looked around again. She had a hard time seeing past the thick branches, but knew she was not alone in the forest. She grabbed her bow and put an arrow to it.
She was on one of the relatively lower branches. Often times there would be searchers who had been injured on their trips who walked the way back or newly changed Wild Ones who were not capable of flying in the trees yet. 'That's it!' she thought to herself as she got ready to shoot herself upwards to the light. The other lookouts would light their lights and the warriors would come from the city if she could do it. Unfortunately, her wins would make her a clear target. she hesitated there for a moment.
And I wonder where these dreams go When the world gets in your way What's the point in all this screaming? No one's listening anyway

Silas turned to Jinx. "I'll give her one thing. Her information is solid," he said reluctantly. Silas had been hired by some big-wigs of the demon world. Money was money, no matter who paid. "I have to go get my armor," he said, leaving Jinx.
