Luckily, Amara wore a bone mask, like all children of the forest should. The punch glanced off, stinging, but probably hurt the orange creature more than it hurt her. She looked at its tiny fists, swinging away, shaking her head so that more of her spores rained down. Well, if it hadn't bruised its hand, then surely that would do some more damage.

Icarus floated away, fortunately avoiding inhaling most of the spores. Hanging in mid-air far enough away from the cloud of spores, he rubbed his fist while watching the mushroom child. "It was just a mushroom. You shouldn't have spored me for it," Icarus sulked. He evaporated to right underneath, attempting to grab on to something to pull the forest child out of the tree.

Amara hissed when Icarus pulled her out of the tree. She hit some branches on her way down, but caught onto one of them and swung herself gently down to the forest floor, darting in between the trees. As she went, she picked up whatever she found, throwing it at the creature, retreating towards a spring she knew was in the woods.

Icarus watched for a moment, feeling horrible about pulling the mushroom-child out of the tree. A couple things came close to hitting him while he stood there; sticks, rocks, and pinecones for the most part. Fortunately nothing found their mark on him. Coughing once into his arm, he wondered what he should do next. He still had the spores in him... Those might still knock him out if what the mushroom-child said was true. He eyed the patch of mushrooms the whole fight had started over. It was stupid... Picking up his lantern, he evaporated with it in the direction the forest-child had gone in.
Reappearing ahead of the skull kid, he pretended to interest himself in something about his lantern. "It feels like your spores didn't do a whole lot to me," Icarus said. "I guess your mushrooms just don't work as well as you said they would." Smiling, he grabbed a handful of rocks and pebbles and pushed himself up off the ground, evaporating to a higher place up in the trees still within a throwing distance. Aiming, he lobbed one at the skull kid.

Amara, now on the ground, darted gracefully between the trees, avoiding his projectiles. Mushrooms were her best friends; she wouldn't stand for them coming to harm by any other. Especially not one who couldn't appreciate the taste and quality of a rare mushroom, who wouldn't be thankful to the forest for the blessing. Hah, the spores not work? They would work in the end, no matter how long they were dormant for. No matter how slow they worked. "Perhaps, or perhaps the forest has a lesson in patience it wishes to teach you, silly creature."
Amara did not like his disappearing and reappearing, but she was at home here. The forest would shelter her as much as it could, though she knew that it did not like this commotion she had started. Technically, it had pushed her first, but she had used her spores... Would they truly take longer to affect it? She had known creatures to feel nothing from them for hours, and then the spores would make them drowsy all of a sudden. Maybe he would feel nothing at all. That would not surprise her.
(( Lucky ;P That would have been another crit but I already got mine. So it's just a miss. Better luck next time, spores~))

Icarus followed the mushroom-child weave between the trees. It was tough to track her; she moved way too quickly, weaving through trees and all. Icarus harrumphed at the words. He was plenty patient. He just didn't know how the spores would work. They definately didn't seem to be working besides making him cough every now and then. That was more an irritation. He just hoped it wouldn't get worse. He doubted he would. "I don't believe you," he stated out loud. Evaporating, he appeared from above, barreling downwards in a dive-bomb.
(( Heh. Another 7 would be devastating! ))

Amara moved, but not fast enough; the creature hit her. He hurt her shoulder and arm, the right side of her. She yelped in pain and tore off again, returning into the trees. All she had to do was avoid his hits and run, and hopefully the spores would do their work. Only time would tell. "Belief or disbelief, they don't matter out here. Mmm, things are what they are." Amara massaged her shoulder with her hand and peeled off a piece of bark to chew on, watching the creature warily. Idly, she threw another bit of bark down at him, not really expecting it to hit, but biding her time.

Icarus ducked under the piece of bark that was flung at him. The forest-child was definately right about one thing though. "Things are as they are," he repeated, "and I feel fine." Evaporating, he reappeared beside the mushrom child with his lantern, swinging it horizontally.

Amara winced as it hit her with its lantern, irritated. She really had to find a better way to fight. The disappearing and reappearing had to be dealt with. She wondered... could it do that in water? After she recovered enough from the lantern, she darted back on her way, to the place she had been heading all this time. The water was very close now, the pond near her home. She dove into it and proceeded to scoop up mud, slinging it at the creature.

Icarus watched the skull-child dart into the nearby bond and begin to fling mud. He got splattered a bit but the mod otherwise didn't do anything. Evaporating into a tree overhanging the pond, he snapped off a seemingly dead stick and threw it down into the pond below.

Amara dove underwater as it threw the stick, but she recovered it afterward and threw it back up at him with all her tiny, wrathful might, treading water.

"Ow!" Icarus exclaimed, surprised at being hit with his own stick he had just thrown. He reflexively flew blackwards and upwards right into a tree branch. Annoyed at himself and the mushroom-child, he evaporated into another dive-bomb aimed into the pond.
