Before the girl managed to catch up with the cat, ********* couldn't help but wander from side to side, looking up at counter where the food was obviously hiding. The pale spotted feline looked as if she wanted to jump up on the counter, but seemed to know it was not something she could do.
Oh, how aggravating! The manx let out a small complaining meowing sound to get that frustration off of her chest. When the blonde approached, the cat mewed out one more time, looking back and forth from the counter, to the girl, to the counter. Apparently, her efforts were rewarded with a prompt lift and food at her easy access.
The pale green eyes seemed to bulge a bit as they took in the full mini feast. Oh yes, Calintha Johnson was a very nice person. Trilling out an adorable mewing sound in thanks, the tailless cat settled right in front of her plate and began to consume things as quickly as a cat could. Unfortunately, that wasn't very fast at all. It was one of those times that ********* wished she was a snake, rather than a cat. Then she could unhinge her jaw and stuff lots of food in her mouth at one time.
Yeah, a cat-snake!
Contently, she remained huddled up in front of her plates, not even seeming remotely picky at all.

It seemed like the kitties tummy was her soft spot. Calintha could sense the excitement in the tailless cat as it began eating. The girl smiled at the little noises that it made when it ate, accompanied by the little tinkling bell. "It would be nice to have a kitty like you, to have someone around the apartment waiting for me." Having found such a polite cat, it made the girl want to find a cat of her own. Her voice was tinged with sadness and loneliness, made even more obvious by her expression. Normally it would have been more carefully guarded, but in her home with only an animal for company, she didn't bother. "It looks like you already have an owner though, judging by that bell." Calintha wouldn't ever knowingly try and keep a cat that was owned by someone else. The girl took a few more bites of her own meal, enjoying it just as much as she had the night before. Fallon really was a wonderful chef.

Calintha talked, ********* would look up as she ate, trying to somehow keep her eyes on the girl while chewing on some chicken (or was that ham this bite?). Yes, ********* really was a nice cat. She even paid attention when someone was talking. Unfortunately, the cat was greeted with a sad look.
Sad looks were not a good thing, and they made ********* equally as sad. This was not a good thing. Not wanting to abandon her meal, the cat attempted to speed up her eating, trying to gobble it all down as fast as she could. It still wasn't as fast as she wished she could eat, but it was better to try than to not try at all. One of her ears twitched a bit at the mention of the bell on her collar. If the mood wasn't so lonely and down, ********* might have laughed mentally, or even aloud at the idea of having an owner.
Guardian Cats did not have owners so to speak. They guarded and protected a senshi, or as in ********* case, many senshi. ********* was a busy body and couldn't afford to stay with just one girl at all times. Sure, there might have been some advantages to such an arrangement, but for the pale spotted cat, that sort of arrangement didn't work at all.
The feline shoveled the last bit of food down before attending to the cream. However, rather than finish it all off right away, she decided to only drink half now. Half of the cream would be delicious later after a bit of play.
The cat leaned down and picked up the hair elastic she had managed to snitch earlier, then wandered up right in front of Calintha. Her eyes looked right into hers, and it almost seemed as if the cat was saying "It is time to pay attention to me now, let's play!"

"Hey, that's my hair band!" She smiled across from the little cat who was now sitting at about her chin level on the counter. So that is what the thudding had been about- she had climbed up onto her dresser to snitch an accessory. Not that it was a big deal, Calintha's hair was short enough where she didn't use them all that often. The girl reached out with both hands and scratched behind the purple tinted ears of the offending cat. "If you'd rather, I think I have a couple of other things we could play with." They used to own a cat at her house, and Calintha was pretty sure she saw some toys when she was unpacking. It took her a few minutes of rummaging through drawers to find what she was looking for. A small felt mouse with a longer string tail, and a ball of yarn. "Maybe one of these is more to your fancy?" If not, Calintha would be glad to play with her hair band. The girl offered out her arms, leaning in a little closer to give the kitten a small kiss on the nose.

The cat watched, pale green eyes following Calintha as she went searching for "other things." ********* was no fool, she had an idea what "other things" probably meant. More stereotypical cat-like toys. Not too many normal cat toys really ever got her interest. They weren't nearly as fun as the simple hair tie or milk tab.
When the mouse and yarn were offered, the cat simply seemed to ignore them and resumed her simple Play time looks, which got rewarded with a kiss on the nose.
Why couldn't Sailor Iris be this nice to her? It wasn't that hard, it really really wasn't!

As soon as the little cat snubbed her other play time objects, Calintha set them off to the side. To each their own- Calintha wasn't going to force a ball of yarn on it when it wanted to play with a hair band. The girl gathered the little cat up in her arms and set her down on the floor. It would be bad if they were playing and the cat accidentally back flipped off of the counter or something. "You are pretty cute you know." The girl absentmindedly took a hold of the hairband in the cats mouth and tugged on it, making the red band stretch. She didn't pull too hard, so when she let go it didn't do much more than just pop back into place. "I wonder who takes care of you." Calintha was wondering out loud, unaware that the cat actually understood what she was saying. The owner was lucky to have such a cute little thing, though they should have been more careful about letting their cat wander off, particularly in the crime-filled streets of destiny city. "So many bad things happen in this city, it would be a shame if you got hurt because you were wandering all alone." She reached out and ruffled the cat's forehead again, both affectionately and playfully, and gave her a small smile.

Kitty instinct was eating ********* brain. Silly brain, why couldn't you ignore the kitty instincts? The cat was picked up, set on the ground, and the minute that the girl stretched the hair band, the cat skittered on ahead and crouched down, ready to pounce, in preparation for the hair band to go flying.
Unfortunately, Calintha disappointed ********* expectations, the hair band literally not going anywhere. Yet her green eyes fixated themselves on that band, as if to hint that it should go some distance so ********* could chase it.
Kitty hints should not go ignored. Just as compliments also didn't go ignored. The mention of how cute ********* was got her to mew out one time in approval. The simple wondering aloud about ********* owner (hahahahaha, yeah right) and the goings on in the city didn't cause any sort of positive reaction. Of course, the tailless guardian cat's mind-cogs were moving at those mentions. As she leaned into the head ruffle, she couldn't help but think with much pride how she was perfectly capable of taking care of herself. A little help from Sailor Iris (hahahaha, yeah right) and Sailor Metis was always appreciated, but no Negaverser or Youma was going to take the almighty ********* down!
Come on, I want to play fetch! she mentally whined before skittering slight distance away again, preparing to a possible toss of the hair band.

This cat was reminding her more and more of a dog every second of play time. It seemed to Calintha, anyways, that the little thing wanted to play fetch? She'd never heard of a cat playing fetch, but she supposed there were weirder things in the world. Calintha picked up the hair band and pulled it taught, sending it flying across the room in one smooth motion. She made sure to aim it to the left of the cat, making sure not to hit it inadvertently. She smiled. "Do all animals make you want to talk to yourself like a crazy person?" Calintha avoided talking to her plants as much as she could, avoiding the awkward explanations to someone who might happen to walk in. Instead, she preferred to listen to music she could sing along with. She didn't mind it much, but Calintha was starting to feel a little weird talking to a cat like it understood her, even if she didn't understand that it did.

Hair band went flying. OH MY GOSH LOOK AT IT GO!!!
The tailless feline flew into action once the hair accessory was airborne, quickly pouncing at it, attempting to catch it with her paws and claws. Of course, she wasn't the best at this game, so the little accessory fumbled down to the ground. Oh well, no harm done! She quickly picked up the toy proudly in her mouth and trotted back to the blonde. When she was immediately in front of the girl, she dropped off the hair band, then went ahead a ways again before eagerly looking back to Calintha.
That was good, do it again! was what she seemed to be saying with her stance as she crouched in to ready herself for another pounce.

Calintha giggled at the kittens antics, as she flailed about trying to catch the tiny elastic hair band. In fact, she giggled so much that she literally fell over onto her side. "Good job little one." Managing to subdue her laughter, Cali picked up the hair band again. From her side, she managed to do few fake-out flings first, hoping to send the kitty running without a target. Finally, after that she sent the little band on a pop fly, far above the cat's head. She smiled at how puppy like the little cat was. Though, there was something very cat-ish about her. Mostly, the strange way she stared into your eyeballs when you talked, like she could understand. The bell on the collar and the ears were dead giveaways too, but little ones attitude was pure puppy.

Oh, this girl was quite clever, indeed she was. The fake outs did exactly what they had intended, having poor ********* bounce out slightly before crouching back down, realizing that the band was still in Calintha's hand.
Good show, good show!
Yet, the moment that the band flew again, the pale spotted feline attempted to jump up to get the band with her paws, but failed to get the mark, toppling forward. Landing on her feet (as cats usually did), she then ran after the hair tie as quickly as her little paws would let her. The good thing about playing fetch with inanimate objects was that they didn't run away when they landed.
At least, that was usually the case. Sometimes people put toys on the ends of strings and would tug the toy away when ********* least expected it. Not the case today, for she approached the toy, pounced it, then proudly picked it up with her teeth. Once more, she trotted back, jingling the whole way.
The play would continue like this for a while until ********* just eventually lost interest. This happened every so often, and right now was no exception. When she was done, she simply just dropped the toy in the middle of her path back, then looked back up to the counter. Now was a good time for cream. With a few trilling cat noises, she let Calintha know it was time for refreshment.

Calintha was enjoying playing the simba version of 'fetch and pounce' with the tailless cat. The next few minutes were filled with giggles, laughter, and the gentle tinkling of the silver bell tied around the cats neck. The fakeouts happened a few times more, but erratically, keeping the small cat on her toes. Eventually the cat just sort of wandered away from the hairband, leaving it in the middle of her floor. Calintha picked up the small black band and pulled it onto her wrist before turning to follow the cat. The strange thing about this cat is that it was oddly... specific, for lack of a better word. It had a way of conveying exactly what it wanted to happen by just using cat noises. It was so strange and different from most other cats she had met before, but Calintha was beginning to expect it from this cat. So when it walked to the counter and trilled (adorably), the blonde girl knew pretty much exactly what the cat was getting at. Stepping over to the counter, she carefully grabbed the leftover cream and set it down on the kitchen floor, moving it to the cat instead of vice versa. Cali knew enough to know to not to both a cat while it was eating or drinking, so the girl merely rocked back on her heels and sat cross legged a little ways away on the floor; watching as the cat licked up the rest of its dinner. She was a little sad though, knowing that it was almost time to have to let the little cat go. It was almost assured that whoever owned the precious cat would be looking for her by now, and Calintha couldn't keep her forever.

There was a song singing out in ********* head. It sounded something like the doom song, but instead used the word "Cream." Eagerly, the feline trotted along at Calintha's heels, into the kitchen and right where the cream was set. Just as eagerly, she began to lap it up.
If ********* was just a normal cat, she might have been inclined to offer a dead bird as a gift on Calintha's doorstep.
The guardian cat knew just a bit better then that.
Fortunately, this girl seemed to know what the manx liked. She was watching *********. ********* was the show right now, even with her cream-lapping abilities on display. She was definitely just that awesome!
If there was a record for lapping up cream, it was possible that the spotted feline just broke it, making quick work of the delicious liquid. With her meal now completely finished, the cat wandered back up to the blonde. She rubbed herself up against the girl's legs before wandering over to the door that she had entered the building through. With her paw, she softly scratched at the door.
Calintha knew what the cat was saying. It was time to say goodbye.

Calintha smiled, albeit a bit sadly, before walking over to where the small cat was pawing at the door. She didn't bother with shoes, knowing it would be a short walk down to the door and back. The blonde opened up the door with a small click, and followed the cat out into the hallway, leaving the door ajar behind her. Remembering the stairs, and knowing that this kitty certianly didn't mind being picked up, Calintha gathered her up fairly quickly. She made short work of the stairs before opening the lower door and setting the little cat down. "It was fun, little one." She reached out to pet behind her ears one last time. "If you ever need a place to go, just find me here alright? So she was a little crazy, but it was alright. Plenty of people talked to animals like they were humans, so it wasn't so bad that she was giving the cat directions that it couldn't understand. "Be safe." She smiled and waited for the cat to leave her doorstep, before going back up the stairs to clean up impromptu cat-dinner dishes.

Oh, ********* trained Calintha so well. She didn't even have to mew out to get her to carry her. When in the girl's arms, she cuddled and snuggled into the girl's body, purring rather loudly. It was a pity to go, but unfortunately, the manx had business to attend to. However, she wasn't going to ignore the offer that had been made. It was nice to find many places to visit when you were feeling worn out.
When she was set down, the pale spotted cat mewed out in thanks. ********* might have been a little piggy, but at least one could say she was a grateful little piggy. Rubbing up against the girl one more time, the cat then bounded off. The jingling sound would continue to liven up the air until the guardian cat was completely out of sight and more than likely far away.
It had been an interesting evening, to say the least.
