Sophie shook her head. "Nope. I don't know about you, but I think I've got enough berries to last a lifetime." She giggled and motioned down to her full basket. Even the pockets in her dress held berries.
Adrian caught his stone and dropped it back to the ground. "Ah, amore. Wouldn't life be so much easier without it?" He mused aloud, stepping towards the field. "Sophie! Come, my dear, the night wanes."
"Coming!" She grumbled, "Pushy leech."

Ivy nodded, having cut off some relationships of love for good reasons. Eve's basket was full of berries, enough for two jars of jam for her mother.
Eve smiled, "I hope I can see you again. You're pleasant to be around." The toddler giggled at Adrian before running to her mother, slamming into the assassin's legs and making the wounded leg hurt enough to warrant a wince from her mother.
Eve didn't notice it and waved to Sophie before asking her mother to pick her up. She was a bit tired, too tired to walk at the moment.

"I'm sure we will. Maybe we can pick berries again." She smiled and walked behind Eve only to divert towards Adrian's side.
The vampire bent at the waist so the child could climb one and once he was sure she was secure he stood back up. "Oh my," he murmured. "Your leg, cherie. Can I be of any assistance?"
Sophie swung her basket around his neck and laid her head on his shoulder. "He's really strong. Plus, we have a car too. Even a carriage!"

Ivy gritted her teeth and forced a smile when her daughter looked at her in concern. "Mommy, your leg hurting?" Ivy shook her head to her daughter's question, but the pain in her leg protested against the walk back to the house.
Eve spoke for her mother, "Yes and I want to talk to Sophie a few moments more."
Ivy stared at her daughter, surprised that the child had distrusted her answer. She smiled lightly,"Sure."

Adrian crouched low enough to where Sophie could slide off his back and moved to Ivy's side. It wasn't in his nature to force kindness on anyone, so instead of scooping her up like he might his wife, he turned and crouched, looking at her over his shoulder. "Please, mademoiselle. For your daughter."
"So," Sophie chirped. "Looks like we're walking! Which way's your house?"

Ivy didn't favor being treated like a weakling, she had been raised differently than other dark elves. However one look at her daughter's face with worry on it made her give in, that and her leg was agreeing with Eve completely.
Eve smiled as her mother climbed onto Adrian's back, letting him help her. The little girl giggled and started to lead to the way to the small but not tiny manor that she lived in with her mother.

Once Adrian was sure she wasn't going to slip off, he followed behind Eve with Sophie scampering up to her side. It was a cute picture; two little girls with baskets full of berries.
He turned his silver gaze to the moon above, vaguely pondering if his sweet Deirdre would turn out the same way.
