"About half," Hayes said. "1337, TRP, the guy with the red shades."
The blond turned his good hand palm-upward in what could have been a shrug, a mildly placating gesture, or to say 'you have a point.' "I might have made a mistake, but she was pretty worked up and I figured you didn't need babysitting." There wasn't anything accusatory in the way he said it; this was, his stance and tone said, his reasoning before the ill-fated mission, and implied nothing about his opinion afterward. "Once things got going it was pretty chaotic. Everyone kind of free-for-alled."
Alphard drifted along, little teal tags swinging as it looked left, then right. The little legendary's psychic powers were still developing, so for now he relied on sound. "Shup?"

Another small sigh hissed from her nose, looking back over to her Umbreon. he might not have showed intention to accuse her of anything, but she still felt that embarrassed sting again, since... she kinda did, after that stunt she pulled. her brow furrowed. thinking over the chaos that had followed the turning point of what started out as a "smooth" mission. she titled her head suddenly, and looked back up to Hayes. "you guys tricked the officers didn't you?" she said, remembering what she had heard over the radio "they though you were coming out of the east exit," she had been SO relived to heard them making a surprise exit from the west.
Shuppet was proud of himself every time a Pokemon tried to find him when he was invisible. he continued to call after the Jirachi, untill it got close enough, letting Alphard bounce into him, then snickered again.

"Huh?" Hayes' good hand, which was reaching into his hair again, paused. The Rocket took a second to orient himself in the direction the conversation seemed to be taking all of a sudden. "Oh, yeah. One guy saw us and they had radios, so. We made a couple turns." No big deal. He didn't seem to be sure where she was going with this.
"Uff!" Alphard bounced off a patch of air and blinked. "Shup?" The little wish Pokemon reached out to poke at the invisible obstacle with a little white hand.

"Yeah I heard, they were freaking out to get as many people to the east as they could. I wasn't sure if you guys were going to run right into them." She smiled, "then suddenly it was a burst of 'oh my god they're coming out the west! Get to the west exit' I thought it was good thinking. I didn't do too much of that," she added scratching her head lightly "but it wasn't a complete "free for all" at least... some organization and good thinking and we all made it out alive, and not to mention-“ she hesitated, making a gesture toward him “you getting promoted after, and given a clone like that...”
Lowering her hand back into her lap as she studied him politely for a moment “You did really well on that mission” this wasn’t a question, but a statement, it just made sense.
Being nudged back fostly when he was poked, Shupper twirled back into view. "Shup Shup!" he called happily, swirling around Alphard.

"Ahh, heh." The blond's grin was pleased at first when Faleen described the reaction of the officers to the feint, but it shifted to a sheepishness bordering on embarassment at the praise. Hayes did his best to read the writing on Faleen's IV bag from where he stood, and when there was a pause that called for a response, he settled for an evasive "Sounds like you got hold of someone's radio."
There was an awkward silence, broken by a delighted Alphard chirping "Again!"
"It's tough to think when a gun's pointed right at you, but more missions will get you experience." The Rocket paused, then added, "Hopefully not with guns."

“Yeah… it was there, we were stuck, I hoped it would give some insight as to what was going on” she shrugged, it didn’t do them to much good. She tried not to grin at the clear indication that he was embarrassed, he shouldn’t be though. She apologized softly. Glancing over to the two playing pokemon in the corner, her fingers finding one of Umbreon’s markings and tracing it lightly, watching as her Shuppet once again vanished into thin air.
“It’s all I can hope for really” her response was followed by a small crooked grin “all I can do at this point is take what I can, and learn from this experience and hope they give me another chance someday.” The way her eyebrows raised, gave the impression she was still a little upset, but her tone was casual.

"There y'go," Hayes grinned back. "Just keep thinking like that. I'd better get going, though-" He reached up to adjust his glasses and looked around for his charge. "Alphard, hey," the blond called.
"Hey!" The little legendary popped into existence in front of Hayes, who reached up to gently tweak a streamer.
"Playtime's over, buddy. Time for lunch."
"Lunch!" The Jirachi looked around for its new friend. "Shup?"

"oh, alright" taken a bit by surprise by his comment that he needed to go, but she nodded. "well thanks for the books, I'll return them as soon as I can" she was very grateful, now that Kofuku wasn't going to be around she had something to do, and this was the kind of thing she loved learning.
Shuppet looked disaponted when Alphard was called back over to his owner, lingering where he was until the Jirachi called to him again with a questioning tone. "Shup shup" he tilted his head, then looked over at Faleen. the grunt blinked back over at him, "Its not up to me Shuppet."

The blond shook his head. "Take your time; I don't need them back right away and there's a lot of good stuff in there." He gestured vaguely at the books with his left hand.
"Shup!" Alphard beamed. There he was! The Jirachi floated towards him, then circled back around Hayes and tilted its head questioningly. "Lunch?" It was a clear invitation.
Hayes looked up at the pair, amused, then back to Faleen. "If you're okay with it and he behaves, it's cool," he told her with a little smile, turning his palm upward and letting it drop.

"he'll behave." she confirmed, she's taken time to teach her pokemon manners recently, she didn't need them causing trouble anymore, especially Shuppet. "he's been in here for days, I bet he would like to go do something for a bit,"
Shuppet make a happy noise, twirling and floating around Alphard when his master said he could go.

"Maybe we'll go for a walk afterward then," the blond said at that. "Get you guys some fresh air, huh?" He tilted his head to look up at the two little Pokemon.
"Lunch!" Alphard chirped, circling around Shuppet with ethereal giggles.
Hayes grinned a little. "M'kay. C'mon." As he turned to go, the Jirachi's movements carried it right over him, whereupon the little legendary flopped on his trainers head. "Hayes!"
The agent paused near the door to look back. "If you've got any questions about the books, let me know. And," he smiled before he left, "take care of yourself."

Looking to her Umbreon, wondering if he wanted to get out of the room for a moment, but when the dark type snorted and lowered himself back down onto the bed, Faleen just grinned in amusement and looked back over to watch her Shuppet gliding happily after Hayes’ new Pokemon, who had taken up a perch on his head. “You might end up regretting that offer” She warned with a good natured grin, A.I was not her strong suite, lifting her hand up to wave them off.
Take care of yourself. Her hand stopped waving, blinking a couple of times. Not that there was anything wrong with what he said, but it was a little unexpected she had to admit. They didn’t know one another to well, just met casually a couple of times, he was a nice guy… maybe that’s what confused her, letting her borrow books, being what she would consider... pretty damn supportive, in a place like this it didn't really seem to... well... fit. “oh, You to…” she replied, lowering her hand “And thanks” arching her eyebrows, looking over to her Umbreon once they were out of the room, before giving him a puzzled frown.
“Umbre” her Umbreon cooed back to her softly, lowering his head onto his paws, his large eyes on the door.
