At the rate he was moving, Pomona was more likely to kill herself. Little to no progress had been made aside from perhaps a few inches, but really grass was not a mode of transport and he kept pulling out chunks of it. And it wasn't exactly stealthy and silent.

Even with damaged ribs, Sheldon probably could get up and get himself to safety. Sure, he was now realizing he had a low tolerance of pain and probably making all the kicking to seem worse than it was; though it was, it totally beat out all those old P.E. injuries he managed to acquire through highschool. But it was his pounding head that was really doing him in and making him want to hurl ... which made him want to travel as slow as possible.

Oh hell, he though through the haze, maybe he should just take his chances. (It was either throwing up or getting a hand through his chest again... which option seemed better). He knew physics, maybe creating enough momentum could get him a safer distance in a more likely time. (And given the two were still chatting it up, they still wouldn't notice). The boy swung his arm out as far as he could without hurting himself further and pulled with as much force as would allow.

Sheldon rolled over, a soft muffled expression of pain escaped his lips as he neared the edge of the retaining wall to the side of the chatting pair and promptly slipped off it to the ground below. A short distance thankfully but again garnered another 'ow' from him. At least the queasy feeling was gone, all to him throwing up finally but in his mouth. That taste was going to be with him the rest of the night. Awesome.

There were only a few times he had a conversation with a senshi, and these were usually short talks between dodging attacks and eyeing up the other for possible chances to throw a kick. This was just a talk were both of them were pointing out the disadvantages of their outfits or weapons. While the senshi seemed chatty, he was just confused. Talking usually was good since he was still not being ripped apart by bright lights or thrown to the ground, but it just prolonged a nervousness that at any moment, she could use that false sense of security to shout an attack at him. Even talking made him feel like he was siding with the enemy, and it didn’t sit right with him to be buddy-buddy with a senshi for even a few moments. It brought on the risk of sympathizing with them, and considering he was going after their starseeds, was ordered to get ride of senshi, being nice for a while wasn’t going to do him any favors in the long run.

“I think I’ll keep the uniform. I never did look good in a skirt.” He glanced past the girl, noticing a body fall off the side with the clumsiness of a drunkard rolling out of bed. The boy was getting away, slowly, and at more of a roll than a run. It just proved to him that talking with the senshi was not a good idea, as she was now between him and the boy. One starseed going, and he wasn’t in the mood to go all over the place to find another one. “ A history text book might work, but then I couldn’t smack senshi around as well as I do with this.” He swung the end lazily back and forth like a pendulum, watching her and thinking that she probably thought she was pretty cute by distracting him. “How about a demonstration?” His heels struck the ground. Their distance hadn’t been far, conversing with each other as they had, and he moved to either move her aside or hit her. The handle of the rope swung out to hit her side, a easier target he found than going after anything else.

Pomona was getting increasingly frustrated and restless. She had never actually fought a Negaverse baddie, and she suspected that with her laughable attack that it wouldn’t go well for her, so she wasn’t exactly keen to give it a go. However, she couldn’t deny that as time passed, the likelihood of her having to fight was increasing. Couldn’t that pothead move a little faster? Sure, he was probably hurt, but if it was her she'd find the ability to run rather then rely on a girl in a sparkly tutu to save her.

“ Oh, tried a skirt before have you? You have to wear heels with ‘em or it isn’t the same.”

Damn. Pomona noticed how shorty glanced to the side, seeing his victim getting away ever so slowly. She suspected that her stalling time was up, and her suspicion was confirmed when shorty started swinging his jump rope.

“ I’ll show you mine if you show me yours.”

And Pomona would be a liar if she said that child’s toy didn’t sting like a bloody wanker. She hissed and flinched, skittering slightly to the side. Realizing that she’d given the shorty a better shot at the pothead, she ignored the throbbing in her side and brought her hands in front of her.

“ My turn, is it? Pomona Pepper Poppers!”

There were no sparkly lights, but the air in her hands did shimmer faintly before three peppers appeared. Shifting one to her right hand, she aimed as best she could before lobbing it towards the shorty’s chest. She wasn’t in the habit of doing target practice with produce, so she decided to aim for the widest target. Besides, she had two other peppers, as long as they didn’t have some sort of stupid, magically imposed expiration date.

No, no he couldn't move faster. In fact, Sheldon stopped all together there on the ground where he fell. Not for the sake of the pain he was still in - again, still mild but to the likes of him: moderate to very bad - but for the sake of just laying there. It was comfortable, it seemed out of the way (he was against the wall now as it was) ... he just didn't want to move anymore. This night sucked and he was going to make the most of it trying to wedge himself into a wall.

Sheldon took in a deep breath, wincing as his ribcage expanded and exhaled in another bout of coughing. Urg, that throw-up taste was still there and the queasy feeling was not totally gone. He idly debated calling the police as he shut his eyes whilst they exchanged attacks... but had no idea what how he would explain the situation. Hi, I was just attacked by a small boy in a frilly costume with a jump rope.... who is now fighting a girl in a frilly costume who has magical peppers. Will you save me? Yeah, that... might not go well. Well... maybe if he said they were terrorists.

Sheldon sighed, bringing a hand to cover his face. What to do.. what to do....

Having fought more senshi than Pomona had with Negaversers, he felt he had a pretty good handle at attacks. These were usually either ones that affected him, being ways to keep him down on the ground and unable to move, or were all out ammunition, being lights and flashy colors that usually stung like hell in the end. This was the first time he had produce thrown at him, and when he saw the bright light, he had expected a attack of some sort of light. Not Peppers! It almost was absurd how ridiculous some of the senshi attacks were, and while he shouldn’t be one to talk, carrying a jump rope, vegetables just seemed a step too far. Soon they’d be throwing Dixie cups and small change, and then he’d just have to give up on trying to classify any of the senshi attacks in any sort of folder other than ‘completely nuts’.

While he was glad he hit her, even managed to get her to move aside, he stopped when he was hit. The pepper bounced off his chest before popping into a puff of seasoned smoke. It didn’t hurt, which startled him, and it wasn’t eye-raping, which was a relief. It was, however, a delayed attack, as he waited a few moments before he stepped back and waved his hands in front of his face, feeling the hot smoke start invading his eyes and already making them water.

“That has to be the most annoying attack ever, and I’ve been hit with a rainbow before.” Uh! It was all in his eyes. Wolfram stepped back several times to keep some space, not wanting to be close enough for her to land a punch, and took a hand up to start wiping his eyes with the cuff of his uniform. Now all he could smell was peppers and his eyes felt like someone just cut up a bunch of onions.

While one hand rubbed at each eye, taking turns from one to the other, he kept the other open and looking at the girl, his weapon held out just in case she moved to throw another one.

“ All things considered, I’ll take that as a compliment.”

If this magic nonsense was really as lame as she suspected it was, earning the title “most annoying” was probably quite the accomplishment. Sadly Pomona did not feel accomplished. Shorty had put a beatdown on the pothead and stuck his hand in his chest before whacking her with her jump rope. Normally she wasn’t really one for fighting, but she felt that hitting Shorty with a single pepper hardly evened the score.

Pomona frowned very briefly at the thought. Her aim wasn’t so great, and since he had backed up she’d have to get closer to throw her remaining peppers. If she wanted to actually kick or punch him she’d have to get within his striking distance.

‘ Well, what better time then when he’s distracted by magical pepper gas?’

That thought in mind, Pomona charged forward, flinging her remaining two peppers before her. She felt that if she could just get close enough, a good kick or two with her heels would make them even.

Magic peppers were new to Wolfram. Fighting was not. In comparison to the senshi, he had been patrolling and fighting much longer than she had. While the peppers stung, stinging his senses, it didn’t mean he wasn’t paying attention. Blinding him was a good way to attack, but seeing as she didn’t have a weapon and this seemed to be it, she would be coming close. The moment she went at him, he instinctively blocked. Just because he couldn’t see perfectly right now didn’t mean he couldn’t feel his way around and land as many punches and kicks as he could.

For now, he tried blocking, stepping back and preparing to hold his ground as two more peppers landed, one at his middle and the other at his chest. It sent another little puff of spicy smoke up, but he didn’t bat it away as he blinked back wet tears to a flash of red racing towards him. His first thought was hold firm and hopefully not get thrown to the ground.

Pomona was a talker, not a fighter. The most experience she had with fighting with video games and cat wrangling. However, she certainly wouldn’t improve if she never tried. The saying was “Practice makes perfect” and she was certainly hoping that was the case, assuming she didn’t die in the process.

Well aware of the fact that she was somewhat lacking in upper body strength, Pomona decided rely on her legs. Once she deemed that she was close enough she lashed out, in a sweeping side-arch, hoping to kick his legs out from under him. Of couse this now meant that Pomona only had one leg to stand on, but she was kept her balance, at least for the time being.

He had expected a punch or a tackle, but not a kick to the legs. It was more surprising than the peppers, and he cursed himself for forgetting that possibility. While sturdy on his legs, he was still skinny and not made of pure muscle. Negaverse boost or not, he still couldn’t hold himself firm enough to a swipe of the legs, and he stumbled before falling back into the dirt. The hard pain in his backside was quickly followed by him looking up, giving a fear glare bordered by hot tears. It almost made him look genuinely hurt, but he was more downright furious at himself form falling down to such a green senshi and for not showing his best during a fight that should have been easy.

Now she was close, something that didn’t escape him, and he threw his weapon at her legs to either hurt them or tangle his weapon around them.

Pomona hesitated a moment when Shorty took a tumble. He looked rather pitiful sprawled out like that, and she paused to consider grabbing the pothead and running. In the moment she took to think that, Shorty’s jump rope wrapped around her ankle – she had yet to put her foot back down – and pulled at her. She locked her legs, trying to prevent the inevitable fall, which simply caused her ankle to twist painfully as she landed on her side.

“ Oof!”

Setting her jaw against the pain of her throbbing ankle, she prepared to push herself up when she heard sirens. It almost sounded like the sirens were coming closer, though it could have been wishful thinking. Chances were it police responding to a run-of-the-mill crime, not coming to give her a welcome reprieve.

There was no hiding how satisfied he was to see her fall, and he yanked on the rope just for kicks. It wouldn’t be long till they were both scrambling to get up, and without knowing how many of those irksome peppers she had, he wanted to get this entire fight done and over with. She had successfully pissed him off enough for a night, and he felt a starseed was a good way to at least smooth things over. If not that, he could at least leave her with more bruises. Something that said he wasn’t someone to be messed, toyed, joked with, or underestimated. It was a shuffling in the dirt to get over to her, and he was reaching out for her tied up ankle, reading to yank her closer when he heard the siren.

His hand was gripping her exposed leg, reading to start what was sure to be a ruff and tumble fight, but his head turned and perked when he heard the warning noise. A noise that said you were either going to be saved or were in deep trouble if you didn’t start hauling some a** all depending on what exactly you were doing when you heard the siren. For Wolframite, nothing that the cops would understand, and with reports of cops being armed and read to take down terrorist, he wasn’t about to test how bulletproof his uniform was.

Turning back, he looked at the girl, and then both his hand and the jump rope vanished from her legs. He stood up, the weapon now gone, dissolved back into what was unofficially termed Nega-space, and looked around at the civilian that was barely making progress in escaping. The fight wasn’t nearly over, yet had to be cancelled due to law enforcement. Damn. Double Damn.

“You got real lucky. Both of you. I’d like to see your little peppers work on me the next time we meet.” He looked back at the road, hearing the sirens rising in volume. “…for now, have fun with the cops.” With that, he turned and jumped away, rising up to a nearby roof and then leaping off as fast as he could away from the flashing red and blue lights and to the nearest fountain to rinse out his eyes.

When Pomona felt Wolframite’s hand on her bare leg – really, this outfit was ridiculous – her instinctive reaction was to kick him. However, her brain had only begun to process this reaction when the hand released her and the Negaverse agent scrambled to his feet. She braced herself, assuming her was about to attack, so she was relieved when he instead chose to flee the scene. Of course, that left her with a slight dilemma. Should she leave the pothead and hope Shorty didn’t come back to finish him off, or should she stay with him, and risk an encounter with the police?

Figuring she should at least check on him, she pushed herself to her feet and hobbled over towards him.

“ You alright with waitin’, or do you want me to hang around a bit longer?”

If he wanted her to stay she would, or would at least keep watch from nearby. That did not mean that Pomona was fond of the idea though. In fact, her tense frame revealed just how ill at ease she was, how much she too wished to flee.

It was simple to say that Sheldon had simply zoned out during the fight, not like he could see it. He could easily hear it - which got boring since he had no idea what was going on - and he could certainty smell the faint scent of peppers wafting through the air. what had gone on was lost to him, but it seemed like the increasing sound of sirens was what was going to end it.

Sheldon squinted up at the red head as he rolled from his little crevice to face her. He coughed once, hoping to have a voice and responded, "I should be fine... hopefully." Although his joint was long lost now in the grass, the police were sure to find something off about him. "You guys get a bad rap as it is," He continued slowly, recalling what Libra had explained to him, "wouldn't want to get you in trouble or anything." He offered her a goofy grin, even though he looked a little pitiful on the ground.

The sirens were now stopping, though lights were still turning atop the car that had spotted the commotion. Two doors were slammed closed, indicating the patrol-men were getting closer. Sheldon let out a small sigh and closed his eyes, a moment's pause, "Thanks for saving me... I guess?" He offered to the Sailor Soldier, unsure if she was still even there.

If she had been in civilian form Pomona would have stuck around, but as it was she wasn’t certain how to explain the whole Senshi thing. She also wasn’t certain that the police would interested in hearing any explanation she may have had anyway, so it was just as well that the pothead said that he’d be fine on his own. She wished she could think of something to say, but when nothing came immediately to mind, she decided the sound of car doors was a sign for her to leave. Sheldon’s response did not go unheard, but only the clack of heels and the soft tinkling of coins answered it.
