 I just noticed something.

I don't think I've ever heard anything more stereotypically Canadian in my life. lol

Oh yah, eh?
I can confirm that this is an actual phrase. Means a lot of things. Okay maybe not, but it has meaning. Agreement, and then request for agreement from the conversation partner. Secondary agreement from partner is unnecessary, but it is considered traditional to confirm the event/story being told.
