Flare nodded at Timka, hardly surprised at the snippet of information the secretary reminded her of. Personally, she had no personal preference as to what gender Fenn would eventually incline towards and it wasn’t that important, whether it turned out to be female or male. To her, the most important thing was the results that the Proto would churn out. It could end up being a flamboyant hermaphrodite for all she knew and she wouldn’t particularly care.
So long as it didn’t turn out scandalous, anyways.
She turned towards Banning and slowly bowed. “Thank you. May your business continue to prosper,” she replied and gently framed Fenn’s face with her fingers. “I’ll be sure to keep this transaction a secret,” she added, as if to reassure the man that she would not forget the terms of the contract. She would never forget them.
Strolling down the hall she mumbled to Fenn, “Please do something to obscure yourself from everyone else. It would be a breach of contract to expose you.”
“As you command,” it droned, releasing small spores from its cottony tail. Neon green lights connected the spores together and the fox faded away slightly.
Stepping into the light, Flare paid careful note to those that passed by. When she found no suspicious glances she continued to head back home.
Things were going to change from here, for better or worse, she wasn’t sure.
