Fallon could remember lying on her stomach on the worn carpet of the apartment she lived in as a child. Her father didn't strike it rich with his patent until she was already in school. Growing up, she slept on the fold out couch in the living room of their stuffy two-room apartment, and her mother would let her watch Disney movies as she fell asleep. She was familiar with a lot of the older titles, but most of the newer releases were ignored.
"I loved Lion King. And Beauty and the Beast." Her fingers smoothed along the crisp edges of the paper fan. She liked that Belle was smart and that she took care of her parents. That seemed like a person worth looking up to. "Did you ever see Thumbelina? I don't know if that was Disney, but I loved that one too. There was a singing bird in it. I had a stuffed animal of him." Fallon laughed, but it was tight, stretched.
Even if she was talking about Disney, Fallon was still thinking about Wolframite and the possibility of being forced back to France. Her eyes moved to the clock. If she knew her mother well enough, Mrs. Novette-Naim would be in shortly to ask Lily to leave so Fallon could get her rest.

Lily did not exactly had the same childhood as Fallon, but she also remember having movie night with her brother and sister. They would watch Disney movies together and then Rose would insist on performing them for there parent and Lily would always do the biggest singing part. They done it for years, she really missed those day, but her sister was six years older than she was, it had to end some time.
Lily nodded smiling, "Yes, I've seen Thumbelina. It was a really great movie. I loved cartoons, still do really, though I do not have a lot of time to watch any."
Lily took out her cellphone, noting the time quickly, before she stood and stretched. She walked up to Fallon bending over gave the girl a gentle hug, making sure not squeeze to hard. "I have to be at the animal shelter soon, I'm needed for my volunteer shift at twelve," she said as she released the girl.
"You should try to rest, okay. Don't worry about France okay. I'm sure everything will work out for the best. I try to visit again, time willing, okay?"

Fallon leaned forward into the hug. She didn't want to move her arm too much. The nurse accidentally wiggled the IV in her vein that morning, and it was still sore. "Thanks for coming," she said, smile wistful. It had been nice, short and sweet. Kind of like Lily.
Animals weren't Fallon's thing, but she could appreciate Lily's volunteerism. Lily's optimism about France was less well-received. A frown touched Fallon's lips. "Maybe," she said. "Have a good day." She lifted her other hand to wave goodbye.
As Lily left, Fallon's mother swept back in. "Nice meeting you," she said to Lily, brushing right past her to return to her daughter's side. It might seem maternal, but Fallon noted the glint in her eye. They were about to discuss moving back to France again.
At least Lily wouldn't have to be around for it.
