It had been too distracted to pay attention to the incoming attacks. So when one of the peppers hit it square in the eye with a loud POP, it came as a rather large shock to the system. The other pepper hit the youma's strange neck-frill, and though it stung the skin on that flap, it had no real reaction in comparison to the other two hits.
As the beast began to start sniveling out with a few loud growls, something rather bright fluttered out from Sailor Iris' hand. The cat knew better than to remain close and backed up so that there was no risk of getting injured.
The Senshi of Rainbows never had the problem of half-assing things when it came to her attack calls, and soon a rather loud "Iris Rainbow SLICER!!!" pierced through the air. With a sharp motion of her good arm (while her injured arm dangled to her side), the intensely glowing rainbow was thrown in the direction of the beast. It wrapped around the crocodile-like creature's neck, and with one sharp jerk of her arm, she made quick work in beheading the creature. The Youma's head fell heavily to the concrete, as well as the creature's body before all seemed to crumple into ash.
"...there... god damn it... there... happy now, cat?"
********* didn't say a word.

“ Well, that was… interesting.”
Sailor Pomona’s eyes lingered on the place where the creature’s severed head had landed before she turned to look at Sailor Iris and the talking cat. Remembering that the other girl had been injured, Sailor Pomona decided it would be remiss of her not to be concerned, even if this was just a dream.
“ Hey, are you alright?”
Perhaps not the best choice of words – a bitten, bleeding arm was not alright – but she figured it would still get her point across.

"Alright?"
Pause.
"ALRIGHT?!! Does this look like I am alright?!!!" The sailor scout marched herself to the newbie and thrust her arm out so it was nice and easy to see. The white gloves now had a lovely crimson arch decorating the cloth, with puncture holes where the teeth had obviously been.
"Iris, please! We'll get you to the hospital. Just stop acting like such a baby about this!"
The cat padded up to the senshi in the shiny red uniform. Each step, she jingled, until she sat down right in front of Pomona. "Now... I want you to think about being your normal self again. Think about the person you were before any of this happened."
There was a slight pause as the cat seemed to debate asking the next thing. Her whiskers twitched slightly before she dared asking, "Since I am in a hurry, can I get a small piece of chicken to go? Also, what is your name? It would be nice to call you by name when you are not as Pomona."
Iris was glaring at the feline. It was obvious this was over the request of the chicken.

Well now, that was unnecessary! Sure, Pomona hadn’t chosen the best words, but would that girl have preferred that she simply ignore her? She wasn’t about to take such attitude without reciprocating, especially not in her friggen dream!
“ How silly of me to ask.” Her eyebrow inched up slightly, her voice slightly dry. “ With that attitude you’re obviously just fine.”
Having lost interest in the other girl, she looked down at the cat. Figuring that the cat hadn’t led her long yet, she closed her eyes and focused. It took a couple of seconds – she was still herself, as far as she was concerned – but finally she must’ve stumbled across the right thoughts because she felt the tingling sensation from before and soon was back in her own clothes.
At the cat’s question, Rose considered the chicken and suspected that it would be cold. Cold chicken was nasty, and it rarely reheated well, so she certainly wasn’t going to eat it. Besides, maybe it would ear her bonus points with ********* so she’d see her again.
“ Take all the chicken you want; I was just going to give the leftovers to Rajah. As for my name, you can call me Rose.”

Sailor Iris was not dignified in any fashion. It was obvious with how she talked, how she carried herself about, and definitely right now as she spit to the side, right next to Rose's feet.
"I've lived through worse!" she said with a small angry snort.
"Iris! Go ahead without me. I'll find you later!" Maybe ********* was irritated. It was hard to tell. This cat had a problem of sounding too pleasant and friendly, even when chastising someone, such as the Super Sailor.
With the dignity of a rhinoceros, the blonde senshi simply muttered a "F*ck this sh*t!" and dashed off, quickly disappearing from plain sight. If there was one thing that Sailor Iris was very particular about, it was revealing her civilian identity to other scouts. Ellie Spectre would make it to the hospital good and fine without the company of a talking cat that apparently wanted chicken.
When her girl was gone, the cat shook her head. "I am sorry that my girl was giving you such a hard time. I'm trying to work with her on that." Her ears pinned back slightly, glancing in the direction the yellow suited scout had fled before turning back to the redhead.
"It is wonderful to meet you Rose. And I'll just take something small to go. I don't want to lose track of my girl if I can help it. Iris is a bit of a handful and all!" Her short ears straightened up and soon enough the tailless feline was rubbing up against Rose's leg. Each rub was followed by a gentle jingling sound.

‘ Sure ain’t acting like you’ve lived through worse.’ Rose thought grouchily, narrowed eyes glancing the way Sailor Iris left before returning her attention to *********. She bent down slightly to scratch the kitty behind her ear, smiling at the fact that, talking aside, ********* was still very cat-like.
“ Thanks, and good luck with your, ah, girl.”

When she was content with how many times she rubbed up against Rose (which was 5 times total), the cat pulled back and sat her tailless rump on the ground. Her pale green eyes, however, fixed themselves on the girl's eyes.
"It's too bad you aren't one of my girls though. I like you!"
********* honestly liked everyone, even Sailor Iris (in all her reluctance).
While she waited for her chicken, the feline began spurting out information that the newly discovered Senshi of Peppers would need to know.
"Anyways, what you just encountered was a Youma. Please be wary of them. I would suggest maybe finding yourself a team to work with so that the Negaverse can't catch you by surprise. You see, the Negaverse is what made that Youma we just fought. The Negaverse... they are the bad guys."
There was a small pause where the cat glanced up towards the sky, as if trying to think over something. Did she remember everything?
The slim feline shoulders seemed to mimic the gesture of shrugging before mentioning "Do you have any questions?"

Rose walked over to the chicken bag and fished out one of the remaining pieces, tearing it into a couple of somewhat more manageable chunks. She considered the information ********* gave her, and while it answered some questions it created many more. Figuring that ********* was in a hurry, and that this weird dream was bound to end sooner or later, she decided to ask only the most glaring questions.
“ A couple questions. About how many other Senshi are there, and how to we stack up against this… Negaverse? You know, in power and number.” She paused, trying to figure out what other question was important enough to ask. “ Why is the Negaverse creating soul-eating monsters? Are they just psycho?”
In a dream it was likely that bad guys were bad simply for the sake of having antagonists, but she figured it wouldn’t hurt to ask.

If for some reason, Rose's eyes weren't on the feline, the cat made sure that she was in line with the girl's vision. If her eyes were away, the cat sprang to her feet and relocated herself just so she could be center of attention for the brief moments when they were talking.
"How many stars are there in the sky?" This was not a very specific answer. "That's how many potential senshi there are. I'd say we have plenty in this city, but at the same time, there isn't much organization." The feline sighed, one ear twitching slightly as she did so.
"I suspect when we find the Princess Serenity, there may be more organization."
There was a pause as ********* momentarily licked her maw as she looked over at the chicken. She was hungry, but she needed to at least answer the questions sufficiently.
"The Negaverse is much more organized... and so they are a major threat. They create the Youma, because Youma locate starseeds. Starseeds are powerful... they can be used as tools of destruction if one tries."
At this moment, the feline offered a friendly laugh. "And I suspect you are a bit more keen on the world not ending anytime soon."

Well, of course the success of the dark side would result in the end of the world; didn’t it always? Kinda disappointing actually, and not very fun. And if every star in the sky could be a Senshi, Rose wasn’t sure how any bad guys could exist, since she was fairly certain there was more space junk then there were humans on Earth.
“ Yeah, having the world end would kinda put a damper on things.”
Picking up the chunks of chicken, she offered them to the cat.
“ Guess I’ll just have to gang up with more Senshi and make sure that doesn’t happen.”
Rose would eventually learn that was easier said then done, but that’s neither here or now.

The moment the chicken was held out, the feline greedily gobbled up the smallest piece as quickly as she could. With her cheeks still stuffed, she managed to get out something that resembled "Thank you!" When she had finished the one mouthful, she then added "Yes, find other Senshi, and keep an eye out for Princess Serenity."
Without any further explanation, she snatched up the remaining chicken with her mouth (since that was the only way she'd be able to carry it off) and began to dash off in the direction of the hospital.
Another senshi awakened. Another senshi that wasn't one of her girls.
Well, after this encounter, ********* knew what she had to work on with Sailor Iris. There were lots of things that Sailor Iris needed work on. She could be so much better than what she showed today.
So much better.

Rose simply stood there for a while after ********* left, looking as if she was either shocked, dazed, or dumb. She finally shook her head slightly, grabbed the bag of cold chicken, and made her way home. She wanted hot chocolate, and then a bed, figuring that a nice nap would end this drawn-out dream. When she got home she found that Rajah was already there, curled up on her bed, asleep; great minds think alike.
