"I was supposed to give him a call anyway. And I'd love it if you could take care of the paperwork - Lester and I are already buried under the paperwork for the twenty-seventh floor."

She straightened up, taking out her phone (which the writer had conveniently forgotten to mention was clipped onto her belt). Flipping it open, she went to her last received calls section and punched send over Lester's number.

Elysia winked at her little security guard friend as the phone set to ringing and she raised it to her ear.

He took a moment to collect himself after the wink. Then he kicked off from the machine and manuvered the swivel chair into his desk. After akwardly reaching around his new friend to get access to his stacks of paper. He found the report sheet all right, and somehow managed to get it in front of him while avoiding any brushes with Elysia's backside.

After collecting himself for the second time he plucked a pen from the desk and began to fill it out.

Lester Po, weaponry division. He opened the same way he always did, Done so soon?

"Mm. Joseph's down on one of the lowest parking levels. Seems something's gone wrong with our security systems - they tried to kill him. Data corruption. I'm thinking that may need to be fixed.

"He's in no danger right now - he and another man took out the security systems (and I refuse to handle that paperwork, if there is any), and they're holding a small meeting. They're locked in down there, though.

"I've got a security person starting out on the paperwork, but he suggested you might be able to kick the security centre guys into fixing our little problem quickly."

She glanced at him, thinking, then mouthed, 'Your name?'

Lucky for Elysia he was only half paying attention to the paperwork. He unclipped his identification and held it out for her to see. Next to his picture and the "clearance 2" marks was written the name: Jeffery G. Hauldon.
He was still scribbling words in poor penmanship as he held it out.

Somehow that doesn't surprise me. He laughed to himself, Joseph and trouble? No. Anyway, I'll have security on it and he'll be out within a half hour.

If there isn't anything else I'll get on it. And then back to my paper headache. He paused to give her time.

"Only thing I can think of is to comment that if I had had the misfortune to meet somebody less agreeable than Mr. Hauldon here, I might not have figured out where he was this quickly.

"Good luck with the paperwork." She hung up and slipped the phone back into its cradle at her hip.

Turning back to Jeff, she quirked a smile. "He'll be out within a half hour. Thank you for your help."

"No problem." He once again broke from his paperwork, "It was a billion times more entertaining than what I was doing before. Even the paperwork is something to pass the time."

"Oh crap!" He proclaimed as he kicked his way back over to the machine. He pulled Elysia's card out from the slot, "I would have been in s**t if I still had this by the end of the day."

He held it out for her to take, "I guess I'll be seeing you then."

"Would've been my fault - I had forgotten all about it." Shaking her head a little, she took her badge back and clipped it back on. "Thank you, again.

"And I suppose so." She nodded and turned, heading for the door.

"yeah... Um... Later I suppose." He kicked and spun forward both to reach his paperwork and let Elysia through.

"Around..." He trailed off as he concentrated as hard as he could on the words that needed printing.

When she left though, he would realise that all he had was a name, mental image and security level. But hey, he could find her again with less than that. He watched crime dramas.

Elysia decided to knock before just waltzing in again. Though it would have been funny to see Jeff curl up in fear again...

Peeking her head in, she waved a little. "Hey, Jeff. Just thought I'd pop in to mention that the lobby issue is all settled. Except for the paperwork and just who's paying, and I am very glad that's not my job.

"Anything new?"

"In the few hours between when you were up here last." He finished typing something before swivelling to see her, "Not much at all."

"Though," He leaned back in his chair before pushing it towards the security computer, "This was much more exciting than my first few days at the job."

Once the wheels squeaked into place, he began to cycle through the cameras. He had done this about a dozen times during the day. Maybe more. But hell, it was better than some other jobs.

"What about you? Anything particular about the lobby interesting?"

"Two young lovebirds quarreling, apparently," she said, dryly, sitting once more on the edge of his desk. "Something about one supposed to be protecting the other, lots of pretty lights... they broke the tile up on the floor, too. And they were both rather stubborn - the girl kept blaming everything on the guy, and both refused to leave.

"Oh, and then there was the passionate make-out session that I know you're so disappointed to have missed. Then I'm guessing somebody who was supposed to be in charge of them came in, told them off sternly, and left again. Don't blame her."

Elysia crossed her legs. "So. Any update about our boss? Are those doors unlocked...?"
PostPosted: Sun Jan 01, 2006 10:13 pm

"Yep," He tapped one of the screens and read aloud, "Lock down lifted. Apparently traffic is already coming in and out. Though so far all I could catch a glimpse of was a beat up old armoured car."

"So how did you find out what happened down in the lobby?" He didn't have to think about it long before he realised what he just said, "You went down right?"

The correction probably wasn't enough.

"Fun, that'd probably be Charles'. At least we know where he is, now.

"No, I can see through floors," she replied, rolling her eyes. "Yes, I went down as soon as you called me. Needed the break. Though if I take a break whenever I 'need' one, I'll never get my paperwork done.

"Any other security errands I should run while I'm up? I'm planning on barricading myself in my office and turning off my phone again once I get back."

"Not really, I'm not exactly captain dispatcher," He thought for a moment, "Mind you, that would be a cool title. Captain dispatcher... Maybe just "the dispatcher" though."

He paused momentarily to look to Elysia, and of course, to realise what an idiot he sounded like. He figured he was bordering medium moron to massive jackass.

"Sorry," He went back to his work, "Anyway, yeah. Paperwork. It's a b***h isn't it?"

He gave an awkward laugh, "I've gotta finish up some of mine and then I'm done for the day. Though I doubt its as much... nay... as interesting as the paperwork you have left."

"Oh, yes, I'm just bubbling over with excitement about mine. High literature! I have to look up every other word I come across.

"Or, more accurately, make a good guess. Or a not so good guess. I don't see how people get away with making up some of the words I've seen... I mean, really. 'Antilegalisponsibilization.'" She sighed and tugged at one of her free curl - apparently, she did this quite a bit.

"So. Are you being forced to go to the company holiday party? I was just told this morning that I'm sort of requried to go. Nobody ever mentioned this to me before."
