"Did you ever stop to think that maybe...he shares that with you because he wants to include you? I've heard him, he speaks very highly of you and what you did for him. I think...he wants you to know that he loves you...that he hopes you will visit him or that he could visit you with no strings attached." Thoughts began swirling around his mind as new found hope sparked and lit up.

"If the little brat cared, he would stop intruding! He would stop showing up with something new every time he appeared. He would stop changing so much, and give an old lion time to adjust. He would stop being different, and not what he was, and stop pretending to be what he was when he isn't, or stop pretending to be what he isn't to be what he was. He wouldn't be such a hurtful, hateful brat by doing all that if he cared." Grinch huffed, breath getting more rapid with each statement, eyes and voice more upset as he spoke, but then drooped entirely. "He would include me before making all these choices, and stop pretending he needs me or my approval. If that was true."

Aksel sat there listening to Grinch, taking everything in though at one point it was hard to take each word apart. Silently he sat that, going over everything until he could think of something to say. "I guess he just thinks differently than you....But there's bound to be a time when he'll come to you, just to visit...and like many sons I've seen, he'll have questions and come to you...By how he's been described he seems...impulsive...Very impulsive...But I doubt he meant to bother you Grinch..."

Grinch glared. "Impulsive, huh? Like telling his father to go away for fear of rejection?" He narrowed his eyes at Aksel, considering his words and looking him up and down.

Aksel felt like he'd been struck. "Fear of rejection..? What do you mean Grinch...?" Focuses on the other male, trying to run that thought through his mind.

"You said it yourself, Aksel, what have I been doing but to try to get rid of him? And that was true, the most of his youngest life. You come into the picture, suddenly there is a true parent that I can give him off to, as I had been trying to do for as long as he can remember. What if I forced him? What if he did accept it, and what if he found that he was not who you wanted either?"
Grinch sighed. "I was rude to you for the same fear. You see, there were good females that would have adopted Aidan. I was always sure to find fault with them. I had no reason to find fault with you, couldn't even pretend to make something up. So I was cruel instead. I didn't want to share. I'm sure he would have, but he didn't want to lose what he had either."
Grinch sat down then, troubled. "I didn't want to lose what I had. Now I have anyway."

"In all honesty Grinch...I don't blame you for how you acted. I would've been the same if I were in your position..." Hearing that Grinch had tried to get rid of Aidan bothered him, but it also sounded to him as if the green male really couldn't. That he cared about Aidan more than he would say. "I doubt you've lost anything Grinch...I'm sure Aidan will continue to visit you...and I'm pretty sure your welcome where they are now." With a slight smile he looked at Grinch's eyes. "You did raise him after all eh?"

"I guess so, but I'm not the one that spent everything looking for him." Grinch looked at Aksel and sighed. "You're being foolish, lying here doing nothing and going to waste. Come back with me."

Aksel just looked at Grinch for a very long moment. In the time that he'd talked to him, he'd grown a new found respect for the fuzzy-toed male. There was much more to him than first appeared. "...Yeah your right...I'll go."
