When his voice abruptly went forceful, Nyoka ears went up and he took off in a prowl toward the lonely zebras.. but something just wasn't right about it all.. But after a few minutes of looking around to make sure it wasn't something else.. she darted after him. It didn't take long for this cheetah to catch up without being spotted and ended up behind him in a matter of seconds..But since her body was so dark and so oddly colored that blending in was VERY hard and so hard that she had to someway to post an attack without being seen.. near the water was the best place but she couldn't figure how to get there without being seen. She sunk so low to the ground that she looked like a collection of water amongst the long grass.
The large one. Emerald eyes looked to him and nodded. Letting him go first on the attack and be his back up. Unexpectingly stalking the prey. While what would come soon would catch the pair off guard as well. Her shoulder blades rising as he crouched- her stomach to the floor.. a subtle.. vibration.. that no one seemed to notice. Her ears planted.. as she waited for him to strike.. as it was quiet.. TOO quiet.

A toothy smirk flickered across the leopard's face as he snapped his head towards the impending meal. He naturally kept low, particularly his tail whose bright turquoise markings could attract unwanted attention. Linje's dark eyes twinkled, drawing his stealthy and lean form closer.
The grass and foliage flattened silently underneath his paws. Claws and fangs soon extended as he arrived within pouncing distance to the zebra. Linje leaped, putting forth all of his weight and strength, hoping to strike the unsuspecting creature with everything he had.
The hooked claws made contact, curling into the flesh as the zebra and it's companions squealed. A violent struggle ensued, and the other animals had fled. Linje clung to the beast like a magnet as it bucked and flailed to no avail.

And as soon as her temporary mate made contact.. the cheetah almost as if she flew~ as she went for the neck..but soon the bucking kicked her off and she leaped back for protection. Seeing Linje dangling on the beast. She had to think of something... and that something... was pondering on breaking one of its legs. Instinctively her chest went up to protect... what her body knew she was harvesting in her... A warm subtle feeling.
As she did.. what most wouldn't do.. and went for one of the front legs.. pouncing it as it went down to buck again.. Sharp.. terrifying jaws hooked on it's target as she pulled and shook her head in a thrashing sort of way.. and eventually a cracking sound echoed and a ripping sound followed. Her target had been completed but she still held on until her paw caught ahold of the neck.. Pulling the zebra down forward so he could take a final blow.. and opening a very clear shot for him. Take it~Linje.
She said to him as she looked to him.. but in that moment .... the ground started to rumble.. and she grasped on the zebra harder.. wondering what was happening.. and in the instant.. she heard the cry of a wildebeast.. Her eyes shot open- there..
Is no time.
Was she going to die now?
She looked up to see the frail tree.. it could maybe hold her.. but she didn't think Linje.. as well. Decisions running through her head as she clung tighter.. They were only now a few feet away and even if she could minorly dodge.. they had spread and their hooves were killers... Closing her eyes with the bare seconds that they would come in to contact.. Her claws and jaw leg go as she headbutted Linje to the tree..
"GO!" She screamed!

Linje saw Nyoka go after the legs as the beast continued to thrash. Soon, it was subdued, and fell to the earth with a loud crash. A bizzare quake of the earth distracted the leopard from taking that final blow.
The moments seemed to drag on in slow motion. He saw the thick cloud of red dust, and silhouettes of rushing beasts. This was, no doubt, a stampede of wildebeast. Linje experienced a jolt of fear, followed by the invigorating effects of adrenaline. Nyoka had already seen it, he saw the fear in her eyes, the certainty of death. He followed her gaze to the tree, and then suddenly struck by her headbutt.
Linje understood, Nyoka was offering him a chance to escape the injury... and likely death of being trampled. Every fiber of his soul, every muscle of his body urged him to go. Everything Linje has ever lived by, ever learned in his cubhood... He should take the tree for himself. Save his own life, the cheetah may be able to outrun the stampede, anyway.
But... Despite his character, Linje held back, and roared over the thunderous sound of the approaching hooves. "Not without you!"

They were getting closer and the time for arguing wasn't in her plan of escaping. But he forced her.. she needed him to just LISTEN~ And she was about to break her masked ways..
"It's too frail! GO! I CAN OUT RUN THEM!" She screamed. Before headbutting him again and pushing him up with her shoulder. "GET UP! WE DONT HAVE TIME!" Then time went back from slow motion to only be put in to reality. That she didn't have time to run anymore. "Alright. I'll go." She said almost with disbelief in herself as she hoisted him up and under him. HE WAS A LEOPARD HE WAS SUPPOSE TO BE GOOD AT THIS!
And right after she could see him try to get up the tree.. She grabbed on to the trail tree's rooting and pushed up to jump upon a branch and quickly rampage through it to get to where he was hanging and help him up.. And once both were up with no time remaining anymore.. the stampede reached them and the large bodies moved the ground like no other could.. Holding on to his paws as if THAT were her only thing she could do.. "Get up here D

Linje didn't have time to react as the cheetah practically dragged him into the tree. Claws slid across the tree's surface, peeling the outer layer of bark. The fragile pieces crumbled away, and the leopard watched in horror as the wildebeast arrived... trampling everything in sight. Linje scaled the tree, appearing at Nyoka's side, and practically clinging to her. A tremendous wind, presumably caused by the rush of beasts, swept over them and just added to the noise.
Over the roar of the stampede, Linje felt an ominous crack. The weak tree was trembling. The feline's weight, combined with the rage of the wildebeasts was apparently too much to bear. Linje thought desperately about what to do when the branches gave way. If a rescue was in order, that's what would be done. He looked to Nyoka, bearing a surprisingly composed expression. "I meant what I said." The leopard assumed Nyoka knew what he was talking about... and he whispered as if it was the end, but he still had hope that it wasn't.

When he came up around her, he had clung to her while she in return clung her claws in to the tree. At a time like this the olfph had to talk about feelings and she was merely not in the mood for it.. She wouldn't see Dysi again.. and the heat rose to her head.. "I...love.." Dysi...' To whom she would have said this too... might have changed everything.. but the last part of the sentence never uttered out of her maw.
The tree swayed unnaturally and dangerously.. But when the gust of wind met her body.. she couldn't help but feel light headed.. and her body almost swayed.. and about half way through.. maybe more.. her body just gave out.. Practically falling limp in to Linje's body while the potential safety of them both started to waver between them.. And her weight increased..
What will happen to the two?
The worst time to faint.. and it wasn't like she could help it.. but with so much intense energy surrounding them and the gusts .. death awaiting their door at any second..

Linje gasped as the cheetah's illness caused her to faint. He supported her, but he knew the branch wouldn't. Carefully, yet quickly, he tossed Nyoka onto his back. The leopard curled his strong tail around hers and took a blue paw in his mouth, just to be certain she wouldn't fall off of him.
"Hang on, love." He was aware she couldn't hear him, but the words were still forever comforting. In a swift leap, he moved from the crackling branch to one that looked more secure. He watched in horror as the branch fell off, and shattered under the hooves of the roaring stampede. He wasn't sure how much longer he would last... or more importantly how long the tree would last. This was the only branch left, and it was a thin one at that. Linje gazed hopefully upwards, the herd couldn't be that much bigger.. could it? No, he saw a glimmer of sand behind the swarm wildebeast, and it was approaching quickly. He had to take a chance, if he wanted to save both of their lives.
The leopard took a flying jump towards the safe land, but he miscalculated. Acting quickly, he landed, dodging beast after beast, enduring blow after blow from their deadly hooves. After what seemed like ages, Linje escaped the stampede. Gently, he let Nyoka fall from his back. When the remaining stray wildebeast had disappeared, the leopard collapsed. He couldn't escape from that mess without several wounds and punctures. It was a miracle he survived that disaster, but could he survive the injuries?

The fall.. She thought she had died. It all blurred out after seconds of seeing him go protective mode.
When she opened her eyes.. slitted. But opened them non the less.. she saw.. the pile of stomped dead zebra a few strides away. Her eyes closed.. and then opened again as if everything was surreal and everything seemed fake or out of body like experience. 'Dysi...' She called to him in her head. after blanking out again.. She was being dragged by this point. She felt it.. her body limp and her weight was maximized.. almost as much as a small prey. Her eyes slitted.. his strong body was under her.. but she couldn't move. "Wha...stampede.." She closed her eyes but she was awake.. leaning all over him.. "Feel.." As if she were commanding her body.. she hoped that Linje didn't just die. NOT that she was worried but the fact that she would be alone again.. Or.. she couldn't have something to lean on. Her tail flipped.. just once. Rare.. it was so carefree but this time.. even it seemed to lose all his energy.. Her face slowly moved towards him.. eyes slitted.. as she saw some blood.
'Whos.. blood is this..mine?' She questioned to herself.. Softly she tried to extend her tongue but even that required energy that she didn't have.. Then closed her eyes as though she had an out of body experience. They escaped.. And he had saved her.. something now she would have to take in to account.. so from this day.. something had to be given to him in return for it all.. In her head... Her vision went blurred.. in and out as she came in and out of her body.. but when she settled.. she was already laid within Linje's grasp.
When her eyes opened she saw Linje.. and slowly curled within him..even more than she already was..She couldn't move so much. They would have to rest here... But she clung to his arm..Hoping that they were both alright. Her body gave little to no effort now to move.. and slowly her head went in to a lax.. of sleep. Or as close to sleep as one could get. Letting them to rest.. knocked out by the immense fear of death..
After a few hours.. she had awoke.. and slowly rose from her almost DEAD sleep. Still feeling weak as she scrambled to check for life in him. Weakly tended to Linje's wounds as he slept, after realizing he was still alive.. Now meek.. she had to at least repay him- full of worry. If that was what you could call it. Inwardly she vowed to at least try to change her ways.. but in the end.. she would always stay the same no matter how hard she tried.. even for someone whom just saved her life.. And when he awoke.. she would try.. try to change..but only time would tell..
"I will try to care for you as you care for me....Linje. I shall try."
