"Chinese is what we are eating... or, well everyone else at the table is eating," Victoria said trying to help Zane make since of what they were eating. "This is Lo Mein," she smiled and pointed to the clump of noodles on her plate. "They just cook different foods than us..." She was going to go into cultures but didn't because she was sure that that would confuse Zane.

She giggled as she watched him drop the noodle and then pick it back up to eat it. Even if it wasn't the proper thing to do she didn't see why he didn't just eat with his fingers... He'd get more in mouth that way.

When spoken to Aurora turned her attention to Nara. "Thank you. Most of the time she is to into being proper to be a typical kid," Aurora smiled despite the small sigh. "Zane's a cutie," she said as she glanced over at him to watch him eat his mac and cheese.

Zane leaned on the table, pushing himself up with his arms. Staring at the limp noodles, the boy wrinkled his nose. "Looks like s'getti," he informed Victoria. So Chinese was just weird-looking spaghetti. Right. He'd stick with his mac and cheese thank you very much!

Nara smiled, slightly desperately, at the compliment to Zane. Carefully she flicked a glance at the red-headed boy. No food fights yet.... With as 'energetic' as the toddler was, the concept of too proper seemed like a wonderful dream. Fortunately, the woman was wise enough to keep from admitting that out loud. "He's something else," she finally managed to say.

Victoria had never really thought about Lo Mein looking like spaghetti but she supposed it could... Especially at the boys age. "You really shouldn't knock it till you try it," she grinned the moment she saw him wrinkle his noise.

"All kids are something else," Aurora replied with a grin. "Eight of us in all. My mother learned that the hard way," she chuckled.

The girl was positively insane. There was no way he'd eat such weird spaghetti. And the doubtful look Zane cast her certainly said that. Choosing instead to try the funny chicken nuggets, Zane tugged on his father's sleeve. He knew better than to try and scarf the chicken down whole. It only took about twenty times of him choking, but he did learn. Really. Mostly... When he wasn't *really* hungry anyway.

Iian turned to the toddler. "Cu' up!" came the demand. Though a
'please' came soon after. Smiling slightly, the man leaned over, cutting up the sweet and sour chicken into tiny pieces. Carefully he placed the bowl of dipping sauce between them, before grabbing one of Zane's pieces and trying it. Nodding at the boy, Iian returned to his own food.

"Wow..." Nara said shaking her head. "Eight is a lot," she grimaced, trying to picture what seven siblings would be like. "I imagine it was fairly chaotic in your family," she added.

Zane stabbed on of the pieces of chicken with a fork. Mimicking his father, the boy dunked it into the red sauce before chowing down on it.

He blinked. Then blinked again. Then his nose started to wrinkle. It wasn't chicken nuggets! With a puettt Zane spit the chewed up chicken onto his plate. Slamming his hand down on the table the boy glared up at his dad. "S'no' chicken nugge's!" He accused his parents loudly, on the edge of a tantrum.

Victoria did her best, and succeeded at not laughing as she watched Zane attempt to eat the chicken. Even if he didn't like it he had at least tried it. She smiled. "Don't give up. You'll find something you like," she said positively.

"Since you tried something I eat is there something you eat you'd like me to eat?" In her mind it was only fair to make the offer. She was very open to trying new things and perhaps this boy had a favorite something she had yet to try- aside from mac and cheese.

"Chaotic is an understatement," Aurora chuckled. "Especially since there was only one boy and none of us the same breed." She wasn't quite sure if breed was the right word- after all they weren't dogs they were just very different when compared to humans and their standards.
