G i l b e r t - W e i l l s c h m i d tGilbert deeply breathed himself to a calm level and smirked at Matthew as Matthew admired Berlin. Of course Berlin was beautiful. Gilbert lived there. It used to be part of his vast empire, and it was a part of him all the way up until the breaking of the Berlin Wall. Because of his legacy on the city, Berlin had to be miraculous. It had to be awesome. And so, Gilbert's smirk only widened more as he heard Matthew's praise of Berlin, even if it seemed a courteous remark. Prussia didn't care about Canadian courtesy. A compliment was a compliment, and Prussia took all that came to him—which was quite a few, mind you. Admittedly, his smirk darkened just a little when France was brought up, but that wasn't because he had something against the Frenchman or anything like that. No, it was just because he thought that he himself was so awesome that there was no way Berlin could even be compared to something so obviously non-awesome as France. Before he could say anything on the matter though, Canada continued.
"S-so... Are you and your brother close?"
Gilbert blinked inwardly with surprise. Outwardly, he looked like his smart-a** self as always. The question had definitely caught him by surprise. Who knew that Canada was so assertive and prying? But, ah. There was no reason why the question should go unanswered. Leaning back again on the seat, Gilbert stared down at his lap for a second, wondering just what facet of their relationship he should reveal.
Finally, Gilbert settled on something that would be fun to say. "We... Well, we're brothers, so I guess we are. But of course, who wouldn't want to be close with someone so awesome as myself? Of course West would want to be close to me, just so he can go around and brag about being my brother!" Gilbert held this roguish smirk on his expression as he spoke. "But seriously, the fact that he's practically the only one who can see me nowadays sort of forces us to be close... closer than he would probably... ever want to be." Gilbert's expression took on a strong sobriety for just a moment, his eyes downcast to his hands, clasped tightly on his crossed legs. But that was for only a moment. The next second, Gilbert brightened up and laughed. "Ah I'm kidding. He and I are like any other set of brothers. We're probably not as close as you are to Francis, what with him and his incestuous streak and all." Gilbert winked at Matthew to put the icing on the cake. He hadn't meant for that one sentimental bit to pop out. But something about Matthew just made it come naturally. Gilbert was even a little alarmed that he felt like saying more. He had never been one to reveal much in all seriousness about himself. Most of the things he said were in jest.P r u s s i a - I s - A w e s o m e

╔XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX╗ Matthew Williams ╚XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX╝ ≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡ Though he was curious, the moment the question came out of his mouth, Matthew knew he was overstepping boundaries. That was only confirmed by Gilbert's silence. 'I knew it... I shouldn't have said anything.' He thought and was about to apologize when Gilbert spoke.
Matthew was quiet as the other told him about his brother. Personally, he didn't know much about Germany. He seemed the type that would make it hard to know. Though, it seemed Italy got along with him well... but Italy got along with almost everyone. Except England... but hardly anyone got along with England. There were even days when Matthew would grow annoyed with him, but those were usually the days when the man would mistake him for Alfred. France did the same thing sometimes, thankfully not as often as Arthur.
"He's practically the only one who can see me nowadays..."
For some reason, those words stuck out more than the rest. Was it possible that Prussia was in his own state of near-invisibility? From where he was sitting, Matthew could see the man just fine. Perhaps it was a different form of invisibility? Since Prussia was no longer a nation, maybe he just wasn't recognized by the others anymore, like Sealand. Although, Matthew didn't think Sealand went near-invisible like he or even (maybe) Prussia. Besides, ever since that kid got adopted by the Nordics, he had gained a little more acknowledgement from the other countries. Everyone except England, of course, who typically yelled at the boy.
When Francis was brought up, Matthew looked up at the man, smiling lightly... until the word 'incestuous' was brought up. "Ah, Francis and I aren't as close as we once were... but I guess he's closer to me than Alfred." He said, moving his arms a little when he felt Kumajirou shift in his lap. "But Alfred's just a jerk... he doesn't pay attention to me unless he needs something..." He muttered, frowning slightly when he recalled the times when Alfred would call or come over just to bug him about some new policy. He and Alfred were twins (supposedly) yet it was always like there was only one country in North America. Canada was always forgotten and overlooked.
Matthew exhaled a sigh, leaning back against the cloth seat of the cab. His eyes shifted to the outside for a brief moment when he remembered that he still had no clue as to where they were heading. "You never said where we were going." He said, looking at Gilbert again. Not that Matthew was worried. Yes, even he had heard the stories about Prussia but, after seeing and talking with him, he was beginning to think most of those stories were just talk. Gilbert seemed like a nice guy.

G i l b e r t - W e i l l s c h m i d tPrussia wasn't that surprised to hear that Canada was often forgotten. Being forgotten himself at these meetings—or more so invisible—had given Prussia a lot of wanted time to use for observation. Even when he had been 'alive,' he had seen that Canada was often ignored. Actually, while he was still alive and at the supposed center of attention, Gilbert had rarely noticed much else, but in hindsight, he observed Matthew's invisibility to the rest of the group. Little did he know that it would soon by Ivan's fault that he would himself be forgotten also. But at least here was someone who relatively knew the same experience and could relate to him, even if it was fat America's twin with a polar bear. Anything was better than nothing.
It didn't surprise Gilbert either that Matthew thought of Alfred as a jerk. Alfred was a jerk to almost everyone, though oddly enough, Arthur seemed attracted to that—but that was another matter altogether. Bottom line was that the 'hero' of everyone and everything was often an insensitive a*****e who got on everyone's nerves. But Gilbert didn't pay much attention to Alfred, since Alfred was often involved in different necks of the woods than his own. But even when Alfred did venture into territory that crossed with Prussia, Gilbert didn't care. Gilbert was awesome, so why would he care?
When Matthew shifted due to Kumajirou, Gilbert glanced down at the bear, and for the first time actually looked at the bear. How odd that such a bear could survive in spring Berlin weather. Sure, this wasn't as bad as the weather in Cuba or something, but the poor polar bear should be suffering from too much heat or something like that. But all that Gilbert found upon observing the bear was a strong sense of dullness. That startlingly blank face could have such a strong effect on people...
Thank God Matthew's expression pulled Gilbert out of staring at the bear's laconic expression, otherwise Gilbert would have probably gotten himself lost within it, which was something totally not awesome to do.
"You never said where we were going."
Prussia smirked a little and replied, "You'll find out when we get there. You'll probably like it though." It was a place that sold the best pancakes Prussia had ever had in all of Europe, and it also had an ice-cream store close by for dessert. A perfect lunch in Prussia's mind, though his stomach was screaming more for the delicate and light pancakes drizzled with good old maple syrup than anything else. "I'm pretty sure you'd like it." Even though he was a forgotten and 'dead' nation, he at least observed things around him. Even his narcissism wasn't that bad. And Prussia had learned enough in his time being invisible—for that was when he did almost all of his learning and observing—to know that Canada and Canadians loved pancakes and maple syrup. Of course, Prussia had never had the Canadian one, so he wasn't sure if they were of the same style, or completely different. At least they didn't look different, but looks could be quite deceiving. "Then again, how could you not like it when you're dining with the best and most awesomely awesome nation ever?" Prussia threw out the question as if it was the most obvious thing in the world, and it was one of those statements when one could never be sure if he was joking or if he really did think that he was the best nation to have ever existed. Gilbert would leave that to Matthew to figure out.P r u s s i a - I s - A w e s o m e
