”It’s not that amazing or anything, but it’s fun…” Often the theatre had broken even, other times there were grand profits – it all depended on the show, and the season. The amount of money they gained, though, never really concerned Miao. Rarely did he get a share of the collected sum, most of the money was spent on costumes and props. Not silly things like a trinket for a son, such things were earned. What the theatre earned went to the theatre – what the son earned went to the son. It was perhaps troublesome now and then, but it was fair. One thing was sure, Miao was no spoiled Noble – too much money corrupted the soul. Thus, Miao was, over all, content with his life.
He nodded slowly at her neck statement, ”I suppose the birds are a marvel, perhaps you could come and view the sanctuary some day, or come for a show.”
He glanced upwards, catching the sun’s position in the sky. The boy bit down on his lip, and then extended a hand to his bird – happily perched on the girl. Coaxing the bird out, Miao performed an odd medley or song and clucks, until he had secured the bird on his fingers – casting Shin-mu an apologetic glance.
”I hate to leave so suddenly, but I fear my aunts will throw a fit if I am not home soon. It was, though, a pleasure to meet you, Shin-mu! I’ll be sure to look out for you at the academy.” He smiled with his teeth, a full fledged grin greeting his face as he stood, bowed, and began to make his way down the hill, waving as he did so.

She could understand that to him, being surrounded and included in that sort of life, it wouldn't seem so interesting. Just as to Shin-mu, the fact that her parents were at the top of the Noble Retainer's political forefront was old news, to someone else, it could very well be worth a wow or two. A small, hopeful smile took over her lips at the chance to see the birds. She'd definitely enjoy that. And the opera, don't even get her started on the opera. "I would very much like that.
She couldn't hide the disappointment when Miao reclaimed his little, musical companion from her shoulder. She did try to curb it though, and she managed to turn the frown into something closer to a smile, albeit a little one.
"It was a pleasure meeting you as well, Miao yin. I suppose I'll see you again soon then." She was actually looking forward to classes if it meant she could speak with the other lunarian again. He'd be easy to talk to, and quite interesting.
She watched him go, and rose herself. Brushing bitsof grass and leafs off her skirt before making her way back down the hill and toward the Noble Estates.
