"Only half a mile?" Yury asked to make sure she hear correctly. As they walked to the river she would lead against Nanaki's body every now are then. His body was a confert to her when she wasn't feeling 100%.

As they continued to walk the sound of rushing water grew louder and Nanaki was relieved. Yury wasn't holding up as well as he had hoped and the sun was even beginning to take a toll on him, or maybe it was just all of the stress of having someone else to look out for, either way he wasn't feeling to great and was glad they were almost to a resting point.
"Just a few more minutes Yury, I think it's right on the other side of this dune." Nanaki explained as they climbed another of the seemingly endless hills of sand. When they reached the top he looked down on the river and sighed with relief. There were trees growing along the bank and even a few places where something had dug a burrow into the river bank. Those were sure to be nice cool resting places as long as they could find one that was vacant.
Looking over at Yury he waited for her to say something, or start heading for the river bank in search of shelter.

"water....i can see it" She shouted as they reached the top of the sand hill. Yury walked over to the river as fast as she was able too. The river was only inches away and she knew everything would be ok now. Yury found a shallow part of the river where a tree's shadow cover it. She quickly steeped into the cool river and laid down in it. she drank the water and let the cool water flow around and over her.
"Nanaki, come join me... it will make you feel better." she shouted with a big smile.

It brought a smile to his face to see her perk up so much and he hurried down to join her in the shallow water. Resting the coconuts on the edge of the river he waded into the cool water and sighed. It did feel nice but he wasn't exactly fond of water so he just stood, drinking enough so that he soon felt rejuvinated.
"Ah, this is much better. From here on out we can just follow the river so we won't need to worry about getting too thirsty." he explained.

"i was thinking that too. since if i remember right this river flows to the beach....well so i been told."she added. Yury felt so much better as if she was still a pup. As Nanaki went to drink the water, Yury splashed his face and giggled and smiled big at big. She was carful tho to no get water near his tail. Just then she saw a big fish swim near by. Yury quickly fallowed it and cornered it in the shallow. Yury just grabbed it in her teeth and dropped on the river bank. "hungry? this fish is big enough for the both of us. " she spoke

Nanaki shook the water off as she splashed him and at first he was slightly irritated but then he just laughed and swiped his paw through the water, splashing her back.
Suddenly she had darted away from him and he tilted his head to the side curiously as he watched her chasing something through the water. Must've found a fish... he thought as he slowly made his way towards her. When he reached her she had just pulled the fish out of the water and was headed toward the riverbank so he followed her over.
"Nice catch!" he smiled at her and looked at the large fish. When she suggested that they share he flicked his tail in a nervous manner before nodding and taking a bite watching her to make sure she would eat as well.

Yury smiled at Nanaki then proceed to eating the fish as well. She was quickly stuffed from the fish so she let Nanaki have the rest since he was bigger and all. Yury then happily trotted back to the river and wait for another fish. Soon a medium sized fish swam by and Yury grabbed it in her teeth and dropped it by Nanaki's feet for him. She figured half a big fish wouldn't fill him up. Yury just wagged her tail and smiled at Nanaki.

As Nanaki finished up the rest of the fish after Yury had said she was full he turned to look at her and she was returning with another fish. How did she know I was still hungry? he wondered but he thanked her and ate the smaller fish as well. When he was finished he licked his face to make sure there was nothing stuck to it and then smiled at her.
"You really need to teach me how to do that, you are a fantastic fisher." his tail swayed behind him contentedly but he was soon scanning the riverbank for one of those holes he had seen from above. It was time for them to turn in for a rest if they were going to be up and travelling after sun down.

Yury giggles and smiles at him "sure thing, i will teach you on are way back. hows that?"she asked. Yury watched Nanaki look around for something but was confused on what it was. "What are you looking for" Yury asked as she tilted her head to the side.
Yury was starting to feel tired from there long and eventful day they had so far. She knew she could use a nap. She then let out a big yawn and trotted to Nanaki's side and looked around. She was hoping to help find what ever she was looking for.

Nanaki smiled at her "That sounds like a good plan to me." he said and then resumed his searching.
When she spoke again he shook his head "I saw some old burrows when we were up on top of the dune that looked like good places to rest but I can't see them now that we're down here." he sighed in exasperation before slowly making his way down the riverbank looking for one of the holes.

"oh i saw one of those in that big tree when i was fishing." She said with a big smile. She was very happy that she could help out again. "fallow me and i will show ya." she said as she walked off to the area while wagging her tail.
The opening in the barrow is in the big tree then dug into it's roots. It was plenty of room for 3 Shakaiyo's and it looked like it had been abandoned for a long time. "well how it this?" Yury asked

Nanaki looked at his friend in surprise once again. Apparently she was going to be much more useful on this expedition than he had originally thought. What with her skills for fishing and her keen eyes observing her surroundings. He nodded and followed her over towards the tree.
When they reached it he stuck his head in and sniffed. It smelled very faintly of another creature but it was obvious that creature hadn't visited the burrow in many days. Backing out he nodded to Yury "It's all clear, I think we should rest here until sun down and then we'll get going again once it's cooled off. It will be easy enough to travel as long as we're following the river." once he had finished speaking he motioned for her to enter the burrow and then followed after her and tucked himself near the entrance so he we be able to protect her if anything stumbled upon them while they were resting.
"Have a good rest Yury." he muttered before resting his head on his paws and trying to fall asleep.

"that seems like a good idea" she said in a yawn. Yury then walked into the Borrow and looked around" it is cozy" she mumbled. Yury was really tired and just wanted to sleep. She walked over to Namaki and laid down right next to him, kind of snuggling with him.
"you really warm, you know that?" she started but before he could say anything she was fast asleep.

Nanaki smiled at her comment and was going to respond but he noticed her breathing had gotten slower and deeper and he chuckled quietly to himself. It seemed she was really worn out. He gently pressed his nose into her fur, inhaling her soothing scent before his eyes drifted closed and he fell into a rejuvinating sleep.
--A few hours later--
Nanaki yawned and blinked his eyes a few times as he slowly came back to conciousness. Apparently he had been more tired than he thought. When his eyes finally focused he noticed that it was nearly dark outside. Rising to his paws he nudged Yury gently "Yury... wake up..."

Yury is dead asleep as she was dreaming of casing butterflies. Suddenly she heard Nanaki's voice and slowly woke up. "whats going on?" she asked half asleep. She let out a yawn and stood up and shoot any dirt out of her coat.
