There was a flash of light. There was always a flash of light.



It almost seemed as if time stood still as this girl went from everyday civilian to an elegantly suited soldier of justice. It was appropriate that the pale olive suited girl sang out her henshin phrase, for she was the Senshi of Song. Once her transformation was complete, the girl was left standing firmly on the ground.

The small tailless cat just stood there, watching in an almost calm fashion, taking in yet another transformation. This definitely was not one of her girls. All the same, she offered a friendly "Welcome, Sailor Maia!"

That was a simple enough greeting for now, especially since there was some urgent matters to tend to. The cat turned back towards the park and ran towards it for a moment, pausing only to look back at the girl. "Come on, hurry! We need to defeat the Youma!" There was that urgency emanating from her voice again. It must have been important!

It seemed that something aside from Sailor Maia had woken up. Or at least, seemed less dormant now that Sailor Maia had appeared. As the cat turned to guide the way, they soon enough would find a rather monstrous creature back at the park. It looked as if it was made entirely out of mud, and sculpted by some giant toddler. It almost looked like a messed up version of Clayface (and Clayface was already plenty messed up to begin with). It let out a low gurgling growl as it sensed the Senshi approaching.

Senshi had good star seeds. Delicious star seeds.

The Youma wanted that star seed.

Despite seeing the danger, the cat continued to charge forward, glancing back every so often to make certain the girl hadn't gotten lost.

"Now, Maia! Use your Sweet Harmony!" That wasn't much of an explanation, but when you had a monster that was preparing to charge at you, that was about as much of an explanation as you could offer.

It was probably pretty intimidating that this strange monster had started to charge, or rather, almost flow rapidly in her direction. It almost seemed as if it was made of some sort of sturdy brown liquid and was now flooding towards her. It let out a rather fierce roar as the notes wooshed past it. The Youma didn't even seem to notice that the musical notes escaping her lips were hovering over its body.

That was, until it was practically in the girl's face. It was right there, able to attack, yet for some reason, it didn't. In fact, the muddy sludge seemed to almost start oozing down heavily. It just felt rather tired all of sudden. It's misshapen face (wait, was that a face?) almost seemed to relax a bit.

"Good!"

The cat almost seemed to beam as it walked rather steadily up to the momentarily delayed monster.

"I think I can take it from here!"

By the time the small pale feline was in front of the mud monster, it had nearly oozed out to the point where its muddy face was practically on the ground. Of course, any second, it could suddenly grow alert again, and then where would they be then?

So the moment she was in front of Maia, the cat called out "It's time for ********* Special Surprise!!!" The silvery star on her forehead seemed to glow, then suddenly a blast of pure energy shot at the Youma. All that was left of the mud monster after a shot like that (at point blank) was some dried up mud flecks and a small bit of what seemed to be soot falling from the air immediately around them.

The cat practically wobbled into her reach, easily allowing herself to be picked up.

"No... there aren't any more." She lay her head against the girl's arm once she was comfortably tucked against the crook of her elbow. As if to double check that what she said was true, her pale green eyes darted one way, then the other.

Nope.

No more Youma.

"We should probably make this quick if we can," ********* pointed out, both of her ears twitching slightly. Even though the small tailless cat did not seem to be in the proper condition to wander off safely, it would probably be better than letting her stay and possibly encounter any other civilians for now.

"First, think of yourself back as they way you normally are. That is how you change back." There wasn't much of a pause, obviously signaling that the cat was indeed trying to rush this slightly. "Think of your attack as something that soothes. It calms a wild beast, but as you suspect, not for very long. A diversion more than anything else."

Another quick pause before the cat continued to ramble on. "That monster was a youma, a monster made to eat star seeds. Star seeds are essentially your soul, so it is obviously bad if a youma eats it. The Youma are made by the Negaverse. Do not trust the Negaverse. You will stand the best chances if you find yourself a team."

Finally, the cat stopped and began to gasp for some much needed air. Whew! That was a lot to say so quickly. It had been like listening to some small kid rattle on and on about their day at school. ********* glanced up and got a lovely view of this girl's chin. Chin did not equal eyes.

"Can I ask you for one more favor?"

It might have been a bit unexpected, but ********* then asked "Can I have that piece of candy you showed me earlier? I promise I won't choke on it!" As if trying to convince the girl, she poked her paw at her slightly.

Victory was ********* she was on the ground, she rubbed up against the redhead's leg, as if to thank her in advance for the candy. When the candy itself was offered, the feline quickly swept in and plucked it up carefully with her teeth. She cheated ever so slightly and allowed her tongue to scrape over the back of her teeth so she could get the first taste of the toffee.

Mmmmmm. It tasted good. The cat lingered long enough for "Lil," as the boy had called her, to say her goodbyes. With that taken care of, the cat was off. This one was not one of her girls. ********* needed to continue searching. At least she had something to keep her stomach company for the time being.
