Tish blushed and looked away. "Actually..... technicalyl Darcy herself only gave me Miriam and the twins. Jaella showed up with Luvvie and dropped her on my door." What that meant, the brunette really didn't know. Was she some sort of crazy kid collector? What if another fell into her hands? Would Niko leave her then?
Axel watched his brother, and tilted his head. "Yeah...... yeah, let's play," he said, though somehow he couldn't hide the fact at how sad this made him feel. Demy didn't remember, not really, just now and then. . . but he remembered everything! And - but Demyx seemed happy, and he wasn't! His infant's body couldn't deal with the turmoil of ....... emotions, nah, not really, he had no heart, confusion then, and burst into tears and sobs.

"Jaella's nice," Niko said vaguely. "I rather like her. I prefer her more than the other two--though Aaron is nice as well." He paused, and looked at her seriously. "Axel's like Howl, isn't he?" he asked. "He remembers things. Demyx too--well. Sometimes. Sometimes it seems like I'm speaking to an adult--he has these flashes at random times. If you ask him a question or something--" he sighed. "I thought they'd be normal children."
Demyx seemed to be thinking for a moment, before he pulled out a blue icecream out from seemingly out of thin air. "Here," he said, offering it to Axel with a smile. "'Eee 'alt. You like it. I 'member."

Tish nodded, a little sadly. "He... doesn't talk much, but I think he remembers everything. . . though it's almost the reverse of how you describe Demyx; he has moments where he acts like a normal baby - well, as normal as a baby that can control fire ever gets -, but most of the time he seems too grown up for that tiny body." IT was clear that Tish wasn't exactly sure how do deal with this adult-in-miniature that she'd been given charge of, though she did love him dearly.
Axel blinked, then took the ice cream from his brother and licked it a little, bright green eyes still full of tears. "You r'member...?"

"Like a certain wizard we know," Niko observed. Of course, he had only met Howl long enough for the wizard to force a ring box into his hands and demand that he propose to Tish--but that was another story. "We'll treat him the way he acts, then. Like a peer. It's cruel to treat an adult like a small child, even if he resembles one. It's hard to switch off with Demyx--since he acts like a baby most of the time. When he does speak about his past, I try to listen."
"I 'member. Xelly luv 'eee 'alt icecream," Demy said seriously. "Xelly forget? Xelly! I gonna tell Ro-as on you. He gonna get very mad. I tell Xiggy too," he added. "Xiggy give ev'rybody else nicknames. But not me."

"I try," Tish said quietly, stepping closer to Niko and hugging him for a long moment. "But it's hard because he emotionally reacts like a child; it's very strange," she murmured, blue eyes clouded with concern.
The little redhead blinked again and grinned at his brother. "I didn't forget - and no telling on me, I can still burn stuff!" So saying, he set his ice cream stick on fire and took a lick of it while it flamed. "See?"

Niko returned the hug. "I know it's hard," he muttered. "Believe me. Demyx--he's almost the opposite. I never expected them to behave like this. Still," he added, tilting her chin up with a finger, "still, they're ours."
"I tell Ro-as," Demy said, determinedly. "I tell him. I put out your fire," he added, as an after thought. "I make wader dance and wader gonna get you!"

"Right," Tish said with a smile. "They're ours. . . but trust me, Axel does not appreciate the fact that he's at diaper-age. She rolled her eyes a bit and shrugged. "We're getting around that, though - slowly."
Axel scowled and backed up for a second, his infant's reactions taking over for the moment. "No! Keep the water away, it doesn't LIKE me!"

"Demyx is potty trained," Niko said, sounding slightly smug. He really was grateful that he only had to deal with diapers during the night. "I think that's one of the few things he hasn't forgotten. Like his loyalty to Xelly."
"No worry Xelly! I 'tect you. No worry, wader not gonna get you unless you bad. Gotta be bery bery bad for me pun'sh you. No be bad, and no wader."

"I know," Niko said with a grin. "But I'm happy to trade for a while if you'd like. I think Demy would like getting to know his siblings better anyway--he's still an "only" child at my place." He rose an eyebrow at her before smirking.

"I think Axel would benefit from some one-on-one time with you, too," Tish said thoughtfully. "That might not be a bad idea in the end."
