Beth blinks at the lady as she suddenly speaks to no one, "Are you alright m'lady?" She notices the spaced out look, a look at the shoulder knots and Beth now has a lightbulb turn on. "Oh! I didn't realize at first you were a rider." She smiles and picks up the box, gently returning it to its spot, "It's ok happens all the time." Responds to make the rider feel more comfortable. "What color do you ride? Bet their really pretty." She has a slight dreamy look in her eye.
When the rider asks about a storage box, Beth Beams. "Certainly we do. What size were you interested in? If we don't have a design that suits your tastes simply leave a description with father and he'll be able to craft whatever size and design you want within a sevenday or two. Depending on how big of course." Giggles, " You wouldn't even have to wait for us to come back either. It would be no problem for you to come pick it up with a dragon."

Lala nodded to the girl when she left her the invitation for her father to come by "Good to know. My name is Lauretia, but most everyone calls me Lala. It's good to meet ya, Beth." she said with a rueful smile as she carefully took the proffered box and turned it over in her hands, examining it from every angle, looking for some flaw she could take advantage of in the bargaining process if she decided to buy. She found none, though, it was very well made, neat seams, polished in and out with a clever little latch to hold it closed. Very nice indeed. If the rest of Beth's father's wares were this nice, they would fetch a good price indeed in other holds.
When the little girl turned her attention back to the woman behind her, Lala looked as well, realizing about the same time that the woman was a rider. A female rider? That wasn't something one saw often, especially if their dragon wasn't a gold. Well, she assumed it wasn't. Lala didn't know much about riders and weyr life in general, but she doubted that Gold riders, even junior ones, were sent about on messages or just popped down to the hold to do a bit of looking about. No doubt they had better things to do. Perhaps she was a green rider.
Lala hadn't had much contact with dragons or riders at all, except for seeing the occasional one high in the sky doing a sweep or something. Seeing them was rather rare actually. Their trade route didn't include the Weyr's since the dragon folk had nothing to trade really, seeing as they got everything they needed from those beholden to them. Beth seemed quite taken with dragons, judging from that look in her eye. Lala didn't spare much thought for them herself. Not that she disliked them, she just didn't really care. This woman seemed nice enough. Polite at least, and not overbearing like lala half expected a rider to be.

Beth rocks side to side, happy. "Lala. I'll be sure to remember. Have to admit that's easier," she gives Lala a sheepish grin. "What sort of things do you trade? Papa says all sorts of things like spices, and wood, and stuff I can't imagine." Her eyes watch Lala handling the box then look up at her face, full of hopeful anticipation. She could probably tell her father had spun a few tall tales into an open mind.

More embarrassed than anything, Kallista gave a weak smile and a slight shrug. Still holding the box, she looked it over and decided it was a nice piece but not quite what she was looking for and placed it back down on the table. "I ride green, her name is Astarteth. And mine is Kallista, we are from High Reaches. Just running an errand, I had a little free time."
Nodding back to the other lady, she moved back to the side to let her finish her bargain. "My apologies for interrupting your trade. I think I might wander and come back. I do like the work here."
If she was lucky, she could find a new brush or oils for Astar and maybe bribe her into being in a good mood again.

Beth's face lights up when Kallista said she rode a green. "Oh my, I hate to ask but if you still be around later when my father returns could I come find you? You see I'm trying to practice drawing dragons and for the life of me can't get the wing right. I would love to use your beauty as a model." She blinks and takes a deep breath, "that is if she doesn't mind and you don't. And you have the time." She looks hopefully at the dragonrider.
Her smile is sweet. "That's alright. Please do come back whenever you like M'lady Dragonrider. My father will be pleased to know you like it. If you ever need something feel free to call upon him."

I do not want to model. I want to leave. Now. And you must scrub me until I shine. Astarteth replied angrily. She was obviously upset and being ignored and having been stuck at the heights for what seemed like a long time but was probably only half an hour.
"I don't mind if you look us up if you come to High Reaches. We don't come often to High Telgar. It will make Astar feel better to have someone appreciate her beauty." Kallista replied thoughtfully. She gave a nod to the other lady and a smile to the girl. "I am sure I will call upon his services sometime in the future. Good day to you both."
Hurry and let's go.
Okay love but you have gained an admirer. Kallista replied lovingly.
Of course I have. I am green and I am Astarteth. Everyone should admire me.
Walking away, lost in her own slight world again, the rider could only laugh.
