She looked rather silly to him, thinking about bird tongues. She was meant to laugh at it after all, not many did know about them, until they were met with one of course. “I had a bird chew on my ear once… that is how I know.” He grinned at her. He didn’t want to depress her with thoughts of lost family.
A grin split his face as she said that. Yes, she was absolutely right. His mother’s eyes were lightly a cloudy day, though her personality was like the sea. Mostly calm and tender but upset her and you would get an earful. Then she started talking of her own mother, she sounded beautiful that was for sure, and the analogies she used were absolutely hilarious. “Like a angry sunset huh. Let’s just hope her personality wasn’t like that.” With a large paw her decided to attempt and mess with her hair some before putting to back down to the ground.
Then she became excited, causing him to become excited as well. That is what he wanted to see, a great big smile on her face. Her ideas on them meeting each other’s mothers, bugs, etc, making him crack into laughter. He certainly did hope for the same thing, though he knew it wouldn’t happen. Though he would never utter something like that to the poor child. She was hurt enough. Just having her excited like she was made him happy.
“Someday it will all come true. I can feel it.” Looking towards the sky, bright teal eyes met the moon. She would be gone soon, as she was already starting to fall away.
“You should best be leaving soon child. Sleep will be calling for you. We will meet again sometime though. I promise you that much. I hope for the best for your future.”

At the talk of a bird chewing on ears, Gienah whined and pawed at one ear nervously. She could almost feel it, and it wasn't pleasant. She certainly didn't want it to happen to her! Maybe she would just examine birds from afar. Or maybe she could sneak up on a bird while it was sleeping. When did birds sleep, anyway? She barked happily as the God laughed. It was a deep sound, and it made the fur she was leaning against rumble like thunder! Such a huge creature, no wonder he sank into the ground when he was wet. "Nah, mama was nice. She was really sweet. You'll see when you meet her. If, if you see her first, you gotta tell her I said hi mama. And I'll tell your mama you said hi. And I'll know it's her because she'll look like you on a cloudy day!" Whining at his suggestion to leave, she gazed towards the boundary of her new territory with a sulk. She didn't want to go, there wasn't enough time to ask the God all the questions in the world! "You better come back sometime," she demanded with her best effort at a stern face. "I still have things to ask you about." Giving him one last snuggle, she reluctantly trotted off towards home, feeling like her head was full to bursting with new knowledge. Papa would understand her even less than before, and neither would her siblings. Maybe she just wouldn't tell them.
