Nokomis was extremely flattered, at first she hadn't really caught on due to her own day dreaming process about apples, but was caught up when his voice crept right in to her mind and poured what he was saying. She blushed openly, not afraid to hide such things, feeling it was only natural to get a little shy at compliments.
"So.." She coughed with a little laugh tossed in. "About the apples?" She giggled pleasantly and listened admiringly to his song while they approached her large tree, it was the most lovely of most around there, only due to the delicious prize they held. She gazed up and smiled, breathing in a large dose of the sweetness that filled the air.
"Here we are..." She said slowly, eye's glued, wings fluttered at her side lightly with excitement.

Dimitri smiled to himself, happy to see Nokomis' blush. She had caught onto his compliment! Trotting along, his song go more and more elaborate as he gazed admiringly at the sky, when suddenly Nokomis proclaimed that they had arrived. Looking back down, Dimitri gasped at how lovely the tree looked, it would make such a pretty painting. Turn his head to the side, as though admiring a pretty picture, he pondered how to get the apples down.
On a random whim, Dimi suddenly sprinted forward and jumped into the air, trying to snap at an apple, but he came down empty mouthed, and unbalanced. He fell over with an "Oof!", but quickly scrambled up to his feet. He had never had the best balance, his mask always adding weight in just the wrong places. Looking himself over, he exclaimed crossly, "Oh, I got my clothes dirty!" With a sigh, he looked over at Nokomis meekly, wondering what she would think about his failed stunt...

Nokomis let only a small smile approach her lips before she began to speak. "You're leaping at the wrong tree my friend. Though it seems plentiful at the bottom it's hard to reach, all the easy ones were taken a good while ago." She nodded, proud of his attempt and explaing why it had failed for him, it really wasn't his fault! "Here." She said happily, her wings, larger then they appeared at her side spread open and with a great flap she was in the air, they had great strength lifting her in one bound. She flew up to the top, where the rain, and sun hit the tree the most, producing perfect apples.
"Here yah go." She said as she hit the ground where she stood before, her head shook slightly, putting her mane back and place and relaxed her wings.Her muffled voice was followed by her head moving towards him, offering the plump fruit.

Dimitri chuckled, Nokomis really was a very sweet lady. She could have easily laughed and scoffed at his attempts, but she didn't and that made her something special to Dimi. He was pondering about the wonders of Angeni when she took flight. It was magnificent to behold, and he watched her with awe. Never had Dimi had any wish to fly, but Noko made it seem like so much fun...
As she landed, he stepped forward and smiled, "Why thank you..! This really was much easier... Lets share?" And with that Dimi bit the apple in half, leaving the other half for Noko. After munching and swallowing it, Dimi flashed her his bright, white smile, "So, what is it like to fly?"

She could feel his eye's on her, it made her feel bad a moment before realizing he was happily watching her, not like this very unhappy mare she'd met once. "Thank-you!" She smiled happily, the smiles came naturally around him, he made her happy. It was just that simple.
"To fly?" She asked after chewing and swallowing the apple, she always took a moment to really get all the flavor, admiring what the world around them offered. "Well it's... Scary at first, I remember when I was young and my first time, I didn't leave the ground for days..." She laughed softly, re-imagining herself clamber to the ground, falling and wanting to hug it and hold it tight. "Then it got easier as i got older, i loved spreading my wings, which are also easy to forget about." She smiled. "I can't remember how many times I've hurt them by forgetting about them."
Taking a second to laugh off her embarrassments then she really got to the answer of his question. "It's wonderful, free, and a great way to get things off your mind..." She nods quietly, a smile still on her face and joy in her eye's with a hint of regret on the subject. She felt more aware of others winglessness after the mare, she felt bad.

Dimitri listened to Noko politely and smiled at her description, it sounded lovely. Being as observant as he is, Dimi noticed the rather sad glint in her eye as she answered his questions. Though he wasn't sure whether it had anything to do with the answer, or with some painful memory, Dimitri didn't want to make her uncomfortable.
He laughed and shook his head, "Ah well, I have my own way to get my mind off things..." He tilted his head and continued wistfully, "I do not even particularly enjoy running all the much, so I'm certain flying would never be my forte even if I could. I like having my hooves firmly on the ground and my up where up should be and my down not to far below my belly..."
