What really? No romance? o_o! I'm surprised!
That's one of the main features in Dragon Age.
I heard there are new characters too?
My sister is looking forward to that one. ^^

There is also a Dalish female mage, human female warrior, rogue female dwarf, and Oghren returns to the party. I haven't heard about any other party memebers who join. I hope I get my Mabari back.....or I'll be mad. I used the dog often. Then there are characters from before who will show up again like Alistair . I also heard Wynne may make an appearance as well as Logain if you didn't kill him....of course these things probably depend on the ending of the game if you're using a previous character.

Oghren is the berserker dwarf and Shale is the golem. And that was pretty much my party too because I got tired of Morrigan disapproving of my noble actions all the time. Currently now I'm trying to switch it up a bit....now I have Zev in my party often since my city elf is romancing him....so hard not to romance Alistair though.....lol. Also wish Teagan (the guy from Redcliffe-Connor's uncle) was a romance option just because if flirts with you if you ask about him having family (and your PC is female). Also....about the ending....*spoiler warning to others* With Morrigan's offer-I think she should have used her shapeshifting abilities to look like the PC. Afterall she said if a previous conversation that she had no desire to turn into another human....not that it wasn't possible. Then Alistair wouldn't have had to known....the female PC bears the burden alone and beloved is innocent if something bad comes of this. At least that's how I feel....I feel so guilty having Alistair go through with it.<

first things first (allow me to have my nazi/nerd moment) also, this post may WILL contain MASSIVE plot SPOILERS so be careful about highlighting white text DO NOT HIGHLIGHT WHITE TEXT UNLESS YOU WANT SOME MAJOR PLOT POINTS RUINED!!THEY'RE CALLED EIDOLONS!!! Black_Angel_Flowne starts looking through summoning videos... Odin turns into an effin horse. wth? a horse?! Really?! Not even an extra leg or two or something?! baaaahhh... scream However... that Alexander summoning looks pretty cool. At least it's a fort, not a vehicle... Is it just me, or does the summoner look too much like Tidus and... the main character from number 12????? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jO3bbaeCrfI&feature=related...Out of curiosity, did they remove Ifrit? Didn't see any video of him... or the phoenix... or any of those good old summoning creatures!!! *cept Bahamut and Shiva* I think FF's finally going downhill... regarding Hope his shirt looks really familiar (i dont know why, it just does O.o) but his face did remind me a bit of Tidus from X... and of course Alexander's Gestalt mode is epic, remember that in one of the FF games, he had an ENTIRE FRIGGIN' CITY ON HIS BACK (could be wrong though, but i think it was VIII or IX...) and regarding Ifrit(SPOILER! sadly, he doesnt make an appearance the closest we get to him is Sazh's Eidolon Brynhildr/SPOILER!) Moonlight_HuangHou I bought it yesterday and put almost 5 hours into it. It's amazing!!
I love it!
I understand now what people meant by no towns or it's a straight forward path or it takes past the first 20 hours to get into it. But it all works for me. I think I'll make a review after I get a bit more into it.
(Now I'm looking forward to NEXT Tuesday where Resonance of Fate comes out. FF13 will have to wait a bit once I get that. ^^ hehe.
So far...I have no Summons. I'm at the part where I can now use magic and all though.
The 'having no towns' part isn't so bad. It's like they do have the 'safe' zone but its not like you can interact by pushing a button. Passing NPC's by makes them auto-talk but nothing of interest or importance.
The 'straight forward path' works out for me. My one complaint about video-games now was the incredible time consuming and super long dungeons. Now it's like its all cut down with just you occasion side path that leads to a treasure chest but that's a short side path off the main goal. Very short. I love it!
The part where people say the story doesn't really begin until the mid of the game. Again it works out. Little by little they throw more battle techniques at you. First it's simple then you learn paragrams or whatever ect...so it's not all at one point. You can't change characters so far...you play as the designated leader but that's not bad either. The game in the beginning (at the moment) is more like a movie. You have a cut scene almost every 15 min. lol Something like that.
I'll make a review later on when I get more into the game. ^^
I recommend it!
I've been playing it for over 40 friggin' hours (this includes time spent idle in the Y/Triangle menu, though if you pause with the start button, it doesnt count towards your total play time) and im on Chapter 12. THIS GAME IS ******** AWESOME!!!! XDthe delivery of the story is phenomenal and paced just right, and allows for some guessing on the player's part (SPOILER When Vanille was shown without the Purge robes, I instantly thought, hmmm... me thinks she's from Pulse. I will leave it up to you to figure out the truth of this/SPOILER) the story does have quite a few plot twists, some of which come straight from left-field (SPOILER The Primarch, Fang and Vanille, Sazh, etc./SPOILER) i think imma gonna go shut up now and go play Fall from Heaven 2 on Civ IV, reason being, i dont wanna ruin ANYTHING for ANYBODY who wants to play the game or is in the process of playing it, and before anybody asks, yes, ive only been playing FF XIII since the day it came out, the only reason why im taking a break from it is cause of a boss, that after you stagger him, he hits the Hope to learn Haste and various other spells

(yes, there is fan art of FF XIII, and yes, there's that kind of fan art, damn you /e/, DAMN YOU! though not much of Vanille thank god, caught glimpses of one image set with Lighting... it was pretty tame though from what i saw, but didnt bother with it cause i dont want to ruin the mental images of the characters yet, and i dont plan on doing so for a very, very, very long time... dornkus, stop looking at me like that ಠ_ಠ)
also, you'll see one of the most epic cut scenes at the beginning of chapter 12, i will say nothing of its epicness, for obvious reaons
though tbh, the WHOLE GAME IS ******** EPIC, Square has really set a new standard for video games, in more ways than one

lol Queen yes! I still wanted to rule in the 2nd game. Tomorrow it comes out right? The 2nd part?
I replaced Morrigan also b/c she was disapproving of my noble actions a lot. When I got Wayne she wasn't bad surprisingly.
About Teagan...I thought he dies?
I'm close to the end of the first game. I put it down for a bit just before the final battle. My sister finished the game. I think I understand the whole thing with Morrigan. Wasn't there some way to avoid it (with her and Alister)?

SPOILER! For those who haven't seen it. xp
xp I think I actually remember the city one! But I'm thinking the one on FF IX... Lessee, it had a video of the city of Alexandria being attacked, the Princess Garnet falling for some reason, and that little summoner girl jumping after her. They hold hands and summon Alexander, and the city just raises up and the wings and it was friggin awesome. heart
That's the only FF game I manage to get to the final boss. Then memory card died. crying
I'll probably start playing FF in a bit. lol
Ifrit needs love, maaan. They've gotten rid of quite a few good summons lately. *or maybe they're just in the FF Tactics games now or something*
But seriously whatever happened to... Ramuh, Quetzecoatyl, Siren *which well, she mainly muted characters and did minor damage, but I loved just watching that video of her summoning in FF VIII blaugh * ...Leviathan, Lich... I know in the first Tactics game that there was also Carbuncle and Unicorn, but I can't remember them in any of the original titles... sweatdrop
And the Phoenix for Goodness sakes! You summoned that on number nine and not only would it attack your enemies, but it also revived all fainted characters on your side of the battle!
kk, maybe the game's not that bad, but I still wish they hadn't altered the... EIDOLONS!!! so much xp
And of course there's those types of pics out there, man. There's stuff like that on EVERYTHING!!! I'm just in a nutty mood right now. Ignore my rantings.
btw, for FF13, what about minigames? Please tell me there's no big sport you have to play at some point. *hated blitzball*

You listed so many Edoloins from the other games!! Brought back memories. lol I missed those!!!
I also thought Siren was interesting and I like Carbuncle and Phoenix too. Levitation's summon CG screen from FF8 was pretty awesome.
And I remember Eiko!! I loved playing with her in the party. Zidane was pretty awesome too. ^^

is fun
not for everyone though
farming components/gil is a pain in the a** though
and the AI is really ******** annoying sometimes DX
the one accessory that will be the biggest pain in the a** to get is the Beckoning Cat, cause you need a Rabbits Foot, which you trade 2 Yellow Gems, 2 Luck Shards, and a Luck Crystal
the luck ones are pretty easy to get.
they only way to get the yellow gems is to fight one of the ghosts from Ad-hoc multiplayer (you unlock ghosts by either fighting somebody else or putting in a code)
the one in question is a Lv. 100 Golbez
he is by no means a wimpy b***h
he will raep you, but suck it up and try your best and you'll eventually get the two yellow shards needed
it took me like a week or more to finally get the stuff to trade for a Rabbit's Foot then finally the Beckoning Cat (but dont worry, you dont need specific accessories or anything to progress the story)

He was pretty awesome with really amazing magic power. The song I liked the most was "The Evil Mist's Rebirth". I keep mixing up summons and Eidolons b/c they were called summons back in FF7 and FF8. Basically the same thing they just changed the name. Oh wait, in FF8 it was called GF. I guess they like the name Eidolons and stick to that now. hehe. lol I say Maa-na too. Reminds me of The Secret of Mana.... Ever tried The secrets of Mana? Playstation game. Was really fun. I liked that it was 2 player too.
