This was how it was suppose to be.

It wasn't until Twana barked and exclaimed her side that Aadi's body just could not function. How come she didn't just run to him and he, curl around her and protect her like old times. Why.. had she changed.. had he changed? Answers he would never come to understand.. How he could love someone as much as her? It wasn't possible.. No it was saddening. He stared at her... and watched as she ran off.. those words drilling in to his heart... She couldn't... have meant it but ... it was the only way to get him to leave... huh. To shatter it...

He stayed quiet .. and throughout it all just watched her.. and when she was out of sight for far too long..Straightening out the back and holding his chest up.. He began a long bellowed call... Sad. Sad call.. almost like a roar but echoing in to the worse of tunes..

It took him a few good moments to regain his composure after the call. Looking at her mate.. 'go after her'- before he ran his own way.. But not until he went close enough to Zuberi's side and bumping it lightly on the shoulder with his own.. As if to show him what he meant by it all. 'Be good to her and you better be.' Sorta way.... Was the last gesture he had towards her mate. Of course.. He would never fully understand the relationship.. and now that she made it clear even if he thought of her.. it wouldn't make a difference. But Zuberi could never fully have understood their relationship neither.. what they had shared. But her words.. It was as if it let him free.. As he ran.. Running- and hitting the ground in such long strides.. that the butterfly of his almost couldn't keep up but he knew exactly where he was heading to. The roman pride... Dirt kicking up as he left the old and now shattered memories.. behind.

Freedom always has a price.
