Nodding, he had herd that himself, though he couldn't remember where, he would guess at his dad though, or maybe his aunt. But he could only hope that it was true, after all he practiced so much, every day found him out in the woods, and lately there seemed to only be interruptions. Trying to not feel annoyed, the other foals had meant no harm, though he did wonder if or when he would ever get privacy.
Shrugging at her other comments, doubting there would be much improvement. Looking at her incredulous as she hit his rear with her tail, nudged and bumped in the side or shoulder he was used to, but NO ONE had ever tapped him on the rear before. His expression conveying this clearly, especially the casual way which she did it. Moving away from her, his wings all clamped close, folded up as much as they would go. Her innocent gesture had made him uncomfortable.

Fleurite tilted her head, blinking at the colt with a concerned look, her smile fading into a light frown. Sonnet's rather sudden change in demeanor had left her feeling awkward; none of the foals in her herd had done that to her before - shrinking away... Was it something she said? Something she did? She took a few steps back herself, not sure what to do, her ears pinned to the back of her skull as she spoke, her voice soft and nervous, "U-um..."
She paused, unsure of how to remedy the situation, her frown deepening; he appeared happy when she had confidence in his skills before... Now he was just shrugging them off. Perhaps it really was something she did that made him uncomfortable? After all, her sister had said that most people appreciate compliments and encouragements as long as it wasn't excessive... Was she being excessive?
"Um... Did I s-say or do s-some-something t-that made you u-uncomfortable?" She shifted her hoofs, lowering her head; she figured that the only way to find out for sure is to ask, "I-If I did, I'm s-sorry... I-I'm not used to t-talking to those o-outside my h-herd..."

Sonnet actually sat down now, in a rather odd pose, she could no longer gain access to his rear now. "You didn't say anything wrong, I just think I need more lessons before I really start improving..." Trying to give a shrug again though it was hard in this pose. Still looking at her he offered a smile finally, though it was still a little weirded out from her touching his rear but he was going to try and be friendly. Not having meant to be so harsh before he looked around, his expression sheepish. "So umm... what is your herd like anyway?" Keeping firmly sat on his rear, looking rather comical with his wings poking out at odd angles behind him.

She nodded slowly, returning his smile with a small one of her own, "A-ah... M-mother said its good to encourage o-others with kind words when you s-see them trying hard... So I..." Her voice faded to a whisper before she went silent, deciding that perhaps this topic wasn't the best one to broach in their current situation; she felt so nervous about upsetting the colt that she had started to unconsciously stutter again! However, looking at the weird way he was seated (she instantly decided that it looked uncomfortable), Fleurite couldn't help letting out a soft giggle.
"O-oh! M-my herd... Is very c-close knitted," She replied, looking a little happier as she smiled fondly at the thought, wiggling her wings, "I don't h-have a father since I c-chose to leave with m-mother, but I have s-several u-uncles whom I l-look up to. The a-aunts in the h-herd t-treats me well too. My f-family is happy there... Although that reminds m-me..."
She paused, frowning a little, "I ought to go back... They might get worried..." Her frown deepened as she dipped her head at the foal as an apology, ears drooped as she continued, "Best of luck with the practicing! Maybe we'll see each other again around." A small smile and another dip of her head later, the Fluttercorn galloped back the way she went, looking to be in a hurry to get home.
