((Continue to be active like this and shikai may occur shortly, but I can't put your hopes up too much as Tansen always would have final say. If your accepted to learn I'd gladly teach it smile )
Despite his attempt to keep the spirits of young Ichiran high he had seen the drop in the shoulders and head tilt downwards, displaying in full view his dissapointment. The one consolation was that now he undersood more about the circumstances that would allow shikai to occur. What was probably more disturbing were the last words that came out of his mouth. He felt as if Kinsetsu did not take his request as something of great importance. He certainly would not allow the shinigami to maintain that perception.
The smile was no more, but it was not anger he displayed, simply a seriousness. "Be clear Ichiran I will always put my squad before my personal time. The moment I opened the door and saw it was one of my squad members my sole goal became to find out what was on your mind. Do not ever feel you are disturbing me." As fast as the smile had faded it had returned. "Now I do not drink sake myself, but feel free to drink with me in my logging. I would not mind getting to know Ichiran the person." He directed his arm inwards giving the indication for Ichiran to enter if he wished.

Ichiran laughed a bit and turned to Kinsetsu with one eyebrow raised as he said that he didn't drink. "Did you just say what i think you said?" Ichiran said with a laugh. "Well then, let me teach you!" Laughing, Ichiran handed Kinsetsu the bottle of Sake as he sat down on the floor. "It's simple, you just hold it up to your mouth, and then swallow!" With a smile, Ichiran took on a more serious demeanor. "So what would you like to know?"

Sonia smiled to herself as she heard the exchange between Kinsetsu and Ichiran, she was rather happy that her replacement was such a team player. Tansen, as always, had made an excellent choice in picking his help and the blonde was loathe to interfere in such an important thing as team building. Quietly moving away from the door, the previous lieutenant slipped down the hall to give the two boys some privacy.

Laughing himself at Ichiran's reply, it seemed any tensions were put aside. He was comforted in knowing that all was well again with Ichiran's morale. "I simply do not drink, I certainly know how." He let out another chuckle. "Well I'm rather interested in your background and what led you to decide upon squad 8 as your squad." He placed his glass on the wooden table, oblivious of the damaging ring that would eventually find its way, staining his table. As he upwards at the open door he made out the descending backside of the blonde female shinigami who he also knew was a part of the squad. His discussion with her would come shortly, knowing from the database that she was the previous lieutenant. They certainly would have much to discuss, although he was not certain words would be the only things exchanged.

"I'd like to give you an answer to that, Fuku-taicho, but i simply can't, as i don't know why i chose squad 8. I was looking for a family to join, and i just felt something calling me to squad 8, so i applied." Ichiran said, taking another drink of sake. He had every intention of getting wasted, tonight. Seeing Kinsetsu going over by the door and looking out, Ichiran was thoroughly confused. "Something the matter, Kinsetsu? If i may be so bold as to refer to you by your first name."

Hope for the best...
As Renashu walked into the barracks, he sensed the presence of two shinigami in the room ahead of him. Tapping his cane in front of him, he walked up and knocked on the door. Since he was blind, he could not see the numbers on the doors, and thus needed directions to his room. Hopefully one of the two people in the room would be willing to help him. After knocking, Renashu stood back a bit, his sightless grey eyes string forward, waiting for a response.

Kinsetsu allowed Ichiran to drink his troubles away. It was rather clear from his initial attempt to inquire further into his personal life that he would not find out much this time around. He did note however that it would be worth discovering more about Ichiran's past to fully understand the shinigami. He was also curious with the return of the former VC who had yet to formally meet him. She clearly had the opportunity to considering she obviously went out of her way to come to 5th floor, considering she was situated on the 1st floor. He would certainly find the opportunity to talk with her and hopefully it would be in a friendly manner.
His thoughts were abruptly halted by the knocking at his door. It seemed his new home would certainly not be a quiet one. He recognized the individual knocking immediately as one of the newest recruits Renashu. Not certain as to what request he had he quickly welcomed him.
"Welcome, Renashu. I hope you are finding this squad adequate to your liking. It seems from the look upon your face that you would like to ask me something. No question is off limit so please ask away."
He stood up from his seated position leaving Ichiran to his drink to demonstrate his attention would be to Renashu's request.

Renashu was shocked that this person already knew who he was. Of course were he not blind, he would have noticed he was talking to the vice-captain, who would of course know his name. "Thank you, I'm pretty sure I'm going to like it here." Pausing to brush a bit of hair off his face, Renashu got straight to the point. "I actually was hoping you could help me though, you see, I'm blind, and although I can generally tell where I'm going, I can't read numbers, or names on doors. I was hoping you might be able to show me where the 3rd room is on the fourth floor?" Renashu was slightly embarrassed about needing assistance and it showed on his face. Normally he wouldn't need help, but not being able to read was a major hindrance. "Oh, and I didn't catch your name..."

Kinsetsu listened to each word and was surprised when the individual mentioned they were blind. He did not however perceive it as a weakened individual, instead was wondering to what extent his ability to sense reaitsu was. It certainly must be rather decent for him to have graduated the academy. He would surely put that to the test in a future training session. Focusing more on the actual request he responded.
"Forgive me for my lack of manners. My name is Kinsetsu Ichikuri and I'm your VC. I shall guide you to your room, merely follow me. I'm certain with your reaitsu sensing ability it will not be a problem to see where I lead you."
He walked into the hallway, moving past Renashu as he headed towards the stairway. He did not wait to see if the shinigami was following him as he was certain he would be right on his tail.

Renashu followed close behind Kinstsu grinning to himself. Great, he hasn't figured out the extent of my ability to perceive, that's just the kind of edge I need when meeting people. Moving quickly so as not to be left behind, Renashu continuosly tapped his cane in front of him, as he and the VC headed down the hall. "So you're the Vice-captain? That's great, this save me the trouble of looking for you. I just left Captain Tansen's office, and he told me I should talk to you about training after I dropped my stuff off in my room." At the mention of stuff, Renashu adjusted the bag on his shoulder, so it was more comfortable. It didn't have much in it, just spare uniforms, his jacket, his hat, and some toiletries.

He had not looked back but heard each and every of Renashu's words. It was rather funny that even the seemingly blind questioned him as a VC. He did appear awfully young, which always brought forth the question, allowing it not to bother him in the slightest. "Yes, that would be me. Captain Tansen is currently on mission with a few of our squadmates so I am the acting head of squad. Training at this point may be difficult to find the time with me overseeing the intelligence and investigations, but potentially I can find a moment to offer some training." He did rather like testing out his members as he only wished the best for them and if he could offer such a challenge for improvement he would find the time.
Having descended the flight of stairs he stopped at the door with the brass number marking of three. Renashu was right on his tail as expected for someone he knew had enhanced senses since he had lived so long without the vision. "Here is your new residence and I hope you find it comfortable. I must hurry off to attend to other business, feel free however to pay a visit to my office." Without another word he was out of sight heading towards the exterior of the barracks.

As the Vice-captain left, Renashu opened the door to his room, and gave a couple of taps on the floor with his cane. It wasn't much, but there was a bed a desk, a dresser, and a shelf so he would have space for his things. Setting his bag on the bed, Renashu leaned his can against the wall, and started unpacking. On the desk, went some papers, pencils, pens, and a small machine that wrote in brail. After putting his spare uniforms int he dresser, Renashu pulled his hat and coat out of the bag, put them on and grabbed his cane. Locking his door as he left the room, Renashu headed out of the barracks, to go to the Vice-captains office.

Making his way up to the fourth floor, Renashu entered his room, and hung up his cap. Sighing, he sat down at his desk, and set his cane down beside him. "Man with the captain gone things sure are quiet around here." Unsure of what to do, Renashu moved to his bed and layed down for a nap.

Renashu woke up from his nap, and looked around his room. He still hadn't decorated it, not that he ever planned to, but it was a bit messy. Getting out of his bed, he tidied up a bit, put on a fresh uniform, and put on his coat. "Well, since things are so quiet here, maybe I'll go visit the 7th squad. Since my only weapon has no blade, Knowing a bit of hand to hand wouldn't hurt." With a plan in mind, Renashu grabbed his cane, and headed down the hallway. Hopefully I get back before the captian, I want to talk to him when he gets back.

Hope for the best...
Renashu sighed as he wallked back up to his room. After having applied for combat training in squad 7, Genji of the 5th squad had found him, and given him the kido training he had applied for. Man learning kido is tiring, I think I'm gonna go read for a bit. Entering his room, Renashu hung up his coat, and grabbed a book of the shelf. Running his hand along the spine, he found he had grabbed 'On a Pale Horse.' "Hmm this'll do, I haven't read this one on a while." Sitting down at his desk, Renashu opened the book, and began to read it by running his hand along the pages. Good thing I can read brail, otherwise I might go crazy
