Well this was an interesting twist... it was more interested in 'the trap' than it was in continued attack...and it was...
glowing?

Interesting. He tapped a finger to his chin and then nodded to Schee..
"Orr... we could try it now...Scheelite, why don't you try and get the bugs while it's pinning err 'Him' down... I'll... distract our oddly hued friend..."
He pulled the sling shot cord back and launched a smoke pellet towards the monsters chatty 'master' hoping to make it harder to see what they were about.

Not to mention -he- rather thought the pellets smelled kind of awful.

...Uh, wow. That 'guy' was glowing. Which...well usually this would be pretty cool but Schee had the distinct feeling this wasn't a very good kind of glow. In fact, it wasn't one he wanted to give off, and considering his choice of accessories...
"I thought you'd -never- ask Zink-man!"
FINALLY! A chance to stretch his legs and do some fighting. A rather large (and particularly nasty) grin spread across his face, and it seemed as though in a blink of an eye his weapon had been drawn. Well..if you wanted to call it a 'weapon', considering it was nothing more than a sticker-decorated plastic videogame controller in the shape of a guitar.
"Time to go squash a bug!"
Unfortunately for himself, Schee wasn't much of a fighter. As such, the first battle strategy that came to mind was to full-on charge the monster, swinging the guitar as hard as he could once close enough.

Mantiz had the tranny under control; now it was Ilie's turn to take some very well-deserved relaxation time.

Or not. You know, people shooting things at her? Was not very good. Luckily, though, she could teleport, and that was exactly what she did. She disappeared the instant she noticed the attack, reappearing behind Zinkenite. "Come on now, let's be team players! Go help your fellow fashion disaster," Ilie ordered, giving the blue-haired Negaverse agent a harsh shove towards Mantiz and Howl.

The Cardian made no move to jump away when she saw the other Lieutenant come and saw it's weapon. Unsure of the plastic controller, the creature stopped, and pulled it's claws out of the ground. It rose up, crossing it's claws across to protect itself. If Scheelite had been intending to do damage, he'd be very disappointed. The plastic hit the creature and shook from the resistance. The skin of the creature was hard, durable, and not easy to crack. Mantiz knew this, and grinned wide, a sharp row of teeth showing. "MANTIZ!" It threw it's claws out to the Lieutenant, and not wanting to loose it's prey, dipped down and threw Howl over her shoulder.

With it's prize, the Cardian could now pay attention to the other two, giving them a look over that said she was ready to sap them dry if given the chance. Placing her hands in a praying position, large, curved blades cover each other, she waited and then pushed off, slicing and slashing at the two.

When trying to escape with his life, Howl could not help but ignore everything around him. He was focused on this task, even though his body was a bit too weak to really attempt anything too drastic. For a moment, he was freed. He could tell because his arms were no longer forced to the ground. However, he now felt a bit sluggish in comparison to earlier.

Earlier, he would have been able to escape within that brief window of freedom. Yet now, he had only been able to move a few inches before being scooped up like some sort of potato sack and tossed over Mantiz's shoulder.

"W-what... what are you doing, Miss Mantiz?" He attempted to roll himself off of her shoulder, but the monster just pulled him back firmly in place. He was stuck.

"...BOTHER" he said scowling deeply at the 'results' or lack there of... dodging backward with a small stumble and tossing down a few more of his smoke pellets (thank god they were cheep little things and -stepped- on them, reaching to drag Demy into the malodorous cover such as it was and hoped the wind did not pick up too fast.

"Stay here...stay out of reach..." He instructed Demy in a harsh 'whisper'..
"Im going around to distract it if I can...ok?
He meant to try and pull the 'trap' off from Behind and hopefully... hopefully one of them might have a chance to see if this BUG had a star seed worth stealing.
Surely it did... every thing did right? OF COURSE they did... he was right... he was -always- right.

He broke right and low trying to keep out of reach and hoped for the best... he was after all poorly 'built' for combat.

When he had swung the weapon he expected many things. A successful hit for one. Some pain shown by the monster, results of ANY kind. What he got was in fact a huge disappointment, as the one thing he -wasn't- expecting was for his weapon to do absolutely no damage and instead harm -him- in trying to keep a hold on it. GAH that had hurt!

Shaking the jitters away, Schee managed to get a good hold on his weapon once more before being dragged into the cover his partner had created. His only response was a rather disappointed sound made right before Zink left their cover to try and distract the monster. Maaaan, staying behind was so boring argh!

But Zink had told him too, and like a good little minion Scheelite sat still in the cover of the smoke pellets. ...For now.

((As a note, after tomorrow I will be rather unavailable for a week and have given permission to ende to control Schee as she sees fit. She's able to get a hold of me while I'm away to make sure it's okay <3 ))

MANNNNTTIIIZZ!” The creature screeched as she threw her head back, stepping back as she tried to rub her eyes and face to see again. The smoke pellets blinded and the creature continued to frail about to brush the smoke away. Her long claws were ineffective of doing much in fanning anything, and in her distraction, her prize fell off and away from her shoulder, leaving Zink to take him away.

Backing away, the Cardian found fresh air again and recovered, blinking back to clear it’s vision before looking out again. Focusing, the ivy-green woman hunched and rubbed her curved claws together, hissing a long ‘ttttiiizzzzzzz’ from the back of her throat. Not happy. Defiantly not happy. It didn’t help that she turned to her shoulder, noticed it was barren, and screamed once more. “MANTIZ!!!”

Leaping up and over the smoke, the creature threw her long claws out to come down upon the lingering smoke, slashing blindly to find them.

Ilie observed her handiwork for a minute, scowling from her advantageous height. This was quickly turning into a crapshoot. Ugh.

"Mantiz, don't worry about the energy," she snapped, finally, cheeks flushing with anger. "Just kill them already!" Turning on her heel, she vanished, teleporting away from the battle.

Could this day get any worse?

Apparently, it could.

Mantiz was not the only one affected by the offending smoke pellet. He coughed and sputtered out, and before he could really realized what was going on, he had tumbled onto the concrete. It definitely was a harsh landing. His elbows and knees felt like they just crashed into some rocks.

His eyes were still watering as he pushed himself up to his feet, wobbling slightly in his current weakened state. However, there was still one thought running through his consciousness. He had to get away. With clumsy steps, he began to hobble off in some direction. He really couldn't tell where he was going.

Dropping the civilian was good, the civilian -leaving- was not...
And neither was the plastic guitar impervious mantis woman being ordered to kill them when the guitar was, sadly, their best weapon.

Zink moved quickly to steer the civilian at least away from the bug-woman.
"Not...that way, trust me" A hand on the shoulder rather than trying for the chest at least.

"Are you at all functional? we could -really- rather use a hand."

His manner was brusk and there was an edge of rather understandable stress in his voice.
"Throw -rocks- perhaps?" He suggested.

"SCHEELITE! KEEP SWINGING THAT THING! DISTRACT IT ALRIGHT?"

Scheelite nodded and kept swinging the guitar like a rather useless plastic fly swatter against something as sturdy as a Rhino-beetle or the like.
Zink pulled out a few of his remaining smoke pellets and fired them again at its feet.

"Anything you can do... would be great." He informed the 'trap', whom was the enemy of his enemy as best he could make of it.
Watch... the one time he tried it it would fail...
He made to leap onto the creatures back, probably the most foolish thing he had ever done in his whole life to boot, pausing only to scoop up a small rock in one hand as a sort of back up.

What was a distraction was also an annoyance to Mantiz, who kept slashing at the irksome, neon-blue, Lieutenant as she tried to get rid of his weapon and his arms. The order to kill was given, and now the Cardian didn't have to deal with the hassle of keeping anyone alive. Prize forgotten, Mantiz was now out for blood.

As a new wave of smoke exploded about her feet, Mantiz let out another loud scream as she tried to wave the smoke away, stepping back. When the other Lieutenant jumped on her, she growled and started to turn about, slashing and clawing but it no way near to getting at her back and the annoying brat who was now riding her. Just like a itch you couldn't scratch, Mantiz could not claw the Negaverser off her, and she went in circles, jerking and trying to shake the boy off, all the while being blinded by the smoke that rose around her.

A small cough escaped him as he felt someone touch him from behind and guide him a particular direction. The phrase was ironic, since the mention of starseeds earlier had completely forced any sort of trust out of him. When he was allowed to cease in his clumsy step, Howl's teal eyes glanced up to who had been behind him. It had been the shorter of the two boys.

"Miss Mantiz... she... she did something strange to me..." he honestly confessed. "I... I will see what I can do, sir." Unfortunately, he really was not in the best condition to pull off anything spectacular. His eyes flitted over to a pile of his belongings on the ground, and he casually managed to catch sight of his fencing mask. It was probably the closest thing they had to a shield in this entire situation.

For a moment, he lingered there, just simply resting where he had been guided, carefully watching the short boy. There was just something he didn't trust in this boy. Perhaps the most admirable thing that boy did was suddenly jump onto Mantiz. He couldn't quite get up right away, but after the bug monster began to shake this boy around, he finally pushed himself back up and began to make his way towards the fencing mask. He wasn't exactly fast, but at least he was trying.

"There is, a level of cosmic irony in all this!" Curses Zinkenite as he did his best to maintain his grip, not unlike one of those vastly irritating children sometimes found at picnics and playgrounds. The ones who think that anyone is fair game for a piggyback and hold on with such tenacity that one becomes certain that they have a future riding angry bulls.

He tried to scale high enough to wrap an arm around Mantis' neck so he'd be able to keep his hold better and maybe MAYBE he'd get lucky and it needed to breathe.
He wasn't -feeling- very lucky though. Nor was he feeling terribly strategic.

The Look on Scheelite's face was one between bafflement and the glint of something more predatory lurking just behind those acid green eyes.
Sadly even predatory, Zink thought, one didn't suddenly become deadly with a plastic guitar.

"AIM FOR ITS FEET!!" He yelled, maybe they could trip it or something.

Guitar controllers swung and he had to admit he was more or less expecting to be the next one hit with it.

The plastic guitar hit it's mark. With the blinding smoke and added weight to her back, the Cardian stumbled and then fell back, falling down and bracing herself with her large claws. The curved blades, while deadly when upright, were hard to use when trying to get herself back on her feet.

Using her name over and over as if it was a curse, Mantiz struggled to get up, moving slowly to get back on her feet. If the smoke didn't blind her already, her anger did.

With clumsy, almost sluggish steps, the teal haired lad managed to make his way to his mask, pulling it up into his hands. His hands grazed over the metal mesh plating of the front in an almost possessive fashion. Even though it was urgent that Howl do something to assist, he still couldn't help but feel some sort of sense of regret for the action he was about to do.

The boy on Mantiz's shoulders had shouted out a command which had obediently been followed by the taller lad. The creature fell for a moment, but was pushing itself stubbornly back to her feet.

"...You have served me well..." he uttered mournfully to the fencing mask before he threw the equipment towards the green creature's head. With his hands empty once more, he staggered off in yet another direction in an attempt to find something else to throw. Too bad he didn't have anything else that could help amidst his duffle bag.
