Nicholas Cage has a pattern in his movies He does two s**t films, then one good one. His good one is going to be "Kick-a**" (No really, that's what it's called.) and this looks like one of the two s**t films.

I'm actually looking forward to kickass 3nodding

And no, I'm afraid Alice in Wonderland is NOT an exception to whatever rule you laid out, as it is also a live action remake of an animated classic, no matter how much better received it may be.

From what I understand, the new Alice movie isn't a remake. It's a brand-new story that takes place after both of Caroll's Alice books. It has something to do with Alice returning to Wonderland years later and not having any memories of when she was first there. And something about the Red Queen trying to take over Wonderland and the White Queen fighting to save Wonderland...or something. But it's definitely NOT a remake.

I have yet to see him in a movie I've liked. His voice bothers me.

I only liked National Treasure.
That super-hero movie (Flamerider or something) he was in looked stupid.

I like Nicholas Cage in some movie roles. He has talent, but this? I think he really did sell his soul to disney....(memories of Ghost Rider, which wasn't horrible...)

Well it's an exception in my rule book for the reasons I stated. Yours may vary of course. Nyah! blaugh

Technically it's not a remake though. It's a sequel of sorts, it's about an older Alice having to return to Wonderland to save it.

@OP: I think they got tired of doing "sequels" for their films already there. Little Mermaid and Cinderella have 2 sequels!

@second post: It's like the time I found a link to porn on the Nintendo site.... eek

The new "Alice in Wonderland" is more live action considering it's more based off the book, taking place some odd years AFTER Alice's trip through the Rabbit Hole. Though I haven't read "Through the Looking-Glass", I don't know if there are talking flowers or not in the written series....

So my opinion is that its a live action "sequel" to the "Alice in Wonderland" made by Disney, with just comedic references to the original Disney film so parents don't get bored 3nodding

Oh, and Johnny Depp > Nicolas Cage.....

I'm not a Nicolas Cage fan. I hated the last handful of films I watched that he was in so I'm not too hyped for this.

And don't get me started on the Disney direct to dvd cheap-quels that raped my childhood. [/rage]
