Kay watched as Pilot tried to get his Nutbar to agree to switch their powers back. The boy had to admit that it was...rather amusing actually, how much of a protest the thing put up. While he waited he played with the electricity a bit more, knowing full well that he'd miss this particular power once it was gone.
Eventually Pilot and the nutbar came back, which prompted Kay to stop playing and to wait for it to just...happen. His nutbar shrieked happily when the agreement was made, and with a cheer pingponged between the two boys, going through Kay first before going through Pilot. As he expected, the tingling sensation left him, and since Pilot's nutbar had yet to return his power, Kay felt...rather empty, actually.

Pilot let his thing go just a few seconds after Kay, taking his cue from him. Nom-Nom swerved around and plunge through him pulling something away. He barley had a millisecond to feel the strange emptiness when Kay’s thing zoomed through him, bringing back the familiar tingling sensation that accompanied his power. Not here Nom-Nom finish his job Pilot open his eyes, having closed them when Nom-Nom first went through him, to give the loop-de-looping Nutbar a glare that said ‘Get On With It.’ Nom-Nom gave a squeak and did so, cheering and pouncing on Kay’s Nutbar when he was done.

Kay didn't feel that tickle of electricity anymore, but once Pilot's nutbar thing had passed through him to give him his own power back, he felt...well rather complete, actually! He grinned at Pilot, giving the blue eyed boy the thumbs up once he had his power back, then turned his red eye to look at the nutbars, who were wrestling over...well, nothing!
"Weird, eh?" He commented, jerking his thumb in the crazy creature's direction. "I saw some people heading back to the shop...maybe yer Mama's one of them?" He questioned, looking over Pilot at Switch, who was holding a dark boy...hey, was her shirt singed? It kind of was!

Pilot returned Kay’s thumbs up with his own and a big smile, everything was back in its place now so he was happy. Watching the things wrestle he nodded in agreement to Kay’s statement, the things were always acting weird but this was just random.
“I don’t known, Nom-Nom said mom had to go to Barton and that’s a long drive.” He said following Kay’s eye’s to see the nice lady, she looked a bit frazzled but that was expected with the mayhem in the shop.

"Oooh, Barton? That is a long drive!" Kay agreed with a nod, stroking his chin like a villain would stroke his beard. Well, since they'd be here for a while... "Wanna play until your Mama gets here?" The older boy graciously offered, glancing at his Guardian again, and pointing at her for Pilot's sake. "That's my Na. She owns the store! Hooded thing locked her at home but she's okay now." At least she looked okay, and that was enough for him!

“Sure, what do you want to play?” Pilot asked quickly, he didn’t often do stuff with people under 20 and even if Kay’s personality was a bit loud he was way friendly than most other kids he’d met. “Oo! That must have been scary, I don’t know what I’d have done if my mum was held captive, certainly not been as calm as you where.” Pilot exclaimed after the revelation that the nice lady was Kay’s mum.

Kay tilted his head, watching as a few of the Guardians returned to collect their children. Well that was good at least, nobody was just leaving them here! He was pondering what to play with Pilot mentioned being scared...which was around the time the boy grinned, taking a proud stance and shaking his head. "Naaaaaah s'not scary! Hooded thing said Na would be okay if I helped and I did and see? She's okay! Kinda." Her sweater was a little singed, but other than that...she was fine! With a hum he scratched at his chin on the skull side, dragging his short nails along the hard surface, then pointing out into the shop.
"A contest? Ta see who can find the coolest 'thing'?" He suggested with a grin.

Pilot gave another glance towards the door, hoping that his Mom would come through; despite how impossible that would be in the time that had passed. “I still would have been scared, after all I don’t know if the person was being truthful or not – right?” he said earnestly, Kay wouldn’t be able to change his mind on him being really brave.
At Kay’s suggestion he looked at the stacks of items that seemed to go on forever, with just a quick glance he could see a bunch of cool items. “Sure! Back in here in ten with whatever we have?” he barley waited for Kay’s reply before dashing off into the stacks, poking through everything for something that could be called ‘coolest’.
In his ten minute search he found lots of items that could fit the criteria, a jaw bone that was almost as big as he was with fangs the length of his finger, a mummy, a rabbit hole (Though he couldn’t really move that...), a collection swords and a cloak that made him invisible when he wore it. But despite all these really awesome items (C’mon a MUMMY!) it was a shard of metal that caught his attention. It was bright silver with funky marks on it and was slightly burnt around the edges. The weird things about though was that it was really warm despite the cool air in the shop and that through both his powers he could feel it, well, singing.
Giving a slight shrug to himself he cradled it carefully in his hand as he picked his way back to the front of the store to see what Kay had found.

Kay only shrugged. "I'unno, didn't feel bad...but Na's okay! See?" He repeated himself, again motioning to the (slightly scortched shirted) woman. The Shaman nodded to Pilot's guidelines for their little game, and headed off into the stacks away from the other boy, going through the absolute mess of things.
He found some pretty cool things; a glowing green trickbox, what was probably a statue of a fawn that had no head or neck, a marionette's cross with an odd tassled dagger stuck in it's strings, a strange dark gray staff with red decorations and a whiteish looking wing thing...so many weird, weird things! Instead, he picked up a strange rock with an antennae sticking out of it, occasionally vibrating in a rather rhythmic, almost groovy way.
Not that Kay knew was groovy was, but it still felt fitting.
Wandering back to Pilot, he held the weird rock behind his back, tilting his head down at the smaller boy. "You first!" He instructed as though it were a race.

Looking curiously at Kay and trying to figure out what was behind him Pilot gave a cheerful shrug and held out his Item at a Kay’s prompt. “I’m not sure what exactly it is but if I do this,” Pilot said putting his finger on the shard and pulled up the power he’d only just gotten back, “it does this.” He finished pulling his finger away which caused a bright shining silvery light to pull away in a string, one end connected to the shard and the other his finger, and for the song which had just been in his head to suddenly become audible.

Kay tilted his head at the shard, then watched Pilot's little demonstration...and his red eye went wide. "That's cool! It sings, eh? We both got singin' rocks!" Chuckling, he showed Pilot the space rock that seemed to be vibrating. "It feels way awesome though, wanna hold? probably cooler than lookin at it!" The shaman boy offered, holding it out a little further in case Pilot wanted to at least touch it with that cool power of his.
"Hm...a tie, maybe?" He said suddenly, in regards to their sort-of-competition.

When it was Kay’s turn to share he let his hold of his power go and the light snapped back into the shard. Taking Kay up on his invitation he poked it with a finger, offering the shard for poking as well, and grinned when he felt the vibration. “That’s so cool! I wonder what’s doing it... Maybe the rock’s alive!” Pilot exclaimed wide eyed. When Kay brought his attention back to the purpose of the items he frowned for a moment and gave a firm nod, a tie was fair.

Kay would have voted for Pilot's as most cool, but due to his lack of similar powers...when he poked it, he just felt the singing shard. There might have been the faintest ghostly whisper, but...he couldn't have been sure. But each of them thought their space rocks were the coolest and thus, a tie!
"Oooh, maybe! Doesn't feel 'alive' like us though." He informed the other Curio boy, lightly tossing the space rock from one hand to the other. "You can keep that one if ya wanna...it won't turn into one'a us, I promise!" He offered, nodding down to the shard in his hands...then leaned in like he was going to tell the other boy a secret. "But don't tell my Na, okay?" He grinned, putting a finger to his lips like it was their little secret.

When Kay said that he could keep the cool shard he gave a bright smile that turned into a completive frown before he said slightly sadly, “I can’t take it for nothing, but I don’t have anything on me to give back...”. As soon as the words had left his mouth he felt a hand tap on his shoulder, causing him to jump nearly a foot in the air as he spun around to stare at the person that had startled him.
“Mom!” Behind him was a grinning Ophelia, holding a glass orb for some reason, and Uncle Morphy who looked scared out of his wits and muttering something about ‘A car shouldn’t be able to move that fast, it defies the laws of physics’. Ruffling his hair and giving him a hug Ophelia held out the orb in her hand for Pilot to take and whispered some quiet instructions in his ear.
Raising an eyebrow Pilot formed a ball of electricity in the hand that wasn’t holding the glass orb and then merged the two, blinking in surprise when he felt the orb suck in the ball, cutting it off from him as its supply and sustaining it on its own. Looking towards his Mom for confirmation and receiving a nod Pilot then turned back to Kay and held the orb out to him.
“Here, in exchange for the shard – if what Mom says is true you can pull little bits of electricity of it to use and it’ll refill slowly. She called an element orb.”

Kay startled a bit when Pilot did, looking up at the woman and the seemingly frightened male. He watched their interactions quietly, though after a few moments he got bored and looked around instead, then down at the curious little rock that was a little too groovy (what the heck did that even mean, anyway?) for it's own good.
Soon, Pilot was doing something, and that had the Shaman's full attention. When the orb was offered to him, he fearlessly reached out to take it, not worried about getting shocked or hurt...why would he? Pilot didn't get hurt! He was only half listening to the bright eyed younger boy, but he was passing the orb from one hand to the other, watching the electricity roll and move around in it.
"Hey, this is wicked! Thanks!" He waved to Pilot's Mother, then looked around for his own again, intent on keeping tabs on her. "Guess you gotta go home then, eh?" It wasn't quite a question...it was more like an observation. "Ya gotta come back, yeah? We could have s'more fun!"
