Majesty started when he jumped off the log, and nervously formulated a reply.
"N-no, not that I've heard." She looked to her feet, forgetting what he was for a moment. Quickly she jerked her head back up, sending rainbow undulations down her coat.
"I usually just get stares," she continued, "and snickers, and giggles, and momma's telling their babies to hush..."
Her gaze shifted to the past, to memories from long ago. And then she remembered, rather more slowly this time, that she was talking to a predator.

As she speaks his muscles lose their tension, and he visibly relaxes in her presence. His head is still held forwards, nose quivering slightly, taking in her heavenly scent, but he is at ease. He is calm, and no longer in a stalking mode, that is, not a hungry stalk in any case.
He pulls his head back and looks at her curiously, noting all that she's said, and the fact that even for a few moments she had lost track of her fear and had opened up to him. That was what he had wanted.
More softly -as softly as a grumbling voice can go, really- he pries, "And you've never gotten the vibe of awe or jealousy from any of those onlookers? You've never felt their hidden admiration?" He was a creature of words, when he chose to be, and this was precisely that time. He had been gruff and animalistic during his chase, but now that he had her opening up, he turned to his talkative side to take over. He had many questions to ask, and he had a feeling that she might be willing to answer, if only a few. "Staring, disbelief, hushing one's child. Could all of those not be signs of not knowing what to say? Signs of beings that did not know how to comprehend and rightfully address such beauty?"
