#The One Name Deskri# [Diary Entry]
You poor defenseless little boy, lost in the chaos of untimely pain. When will it go away? Forever and ever gone, lost in your own little world. Forever torn to be. Never-ending pain, always on your side. Everyone against you and yourself. Wasting our time on answers that will never be solved. The climax is coming, where all the pawns are set and moved. And once they'd made their move, they'll be ours for the taking. But if we're not fast, it'll be out last chance to run. The seering pain overtaking our souls. That timeless pit of sanctity and bloodshed. When is it our turn to be in the lead? Swirling about in our insanity and madness of midnight. You're not alone, little one. We are two but we are the same. But when it comes our time, we'll leave and never be together. Later to fight head to head and lose to each other. None of it is real and our wild imagination gone to stale hatred in loops of new attacks. Pawns in this game of life. In the end, in our last breaths, we'll find ourselves torn from each other and our want to be one will not last. For we had been played, our two shall never be a one again. But even then, I'll still be your only shoulder to cry on as we die together as a whole. Our existence shriveled into nothingness.

#Phone Call# Alice nodded to Syth as she ran away and picked up the phone. "Rasiel. This is Alice, What the hell is going on? This is Sakura's phone. Why do you have it?" she yelled through the phone angrily.
Rasiel was startled by the voice he heard. It sounded like Alice and then proclaimed itself as such. "A-Alice?! What the-" his eyes came back to show his emotion. ".. what have I done.. Oh god, what have I done.."
Alice felt a sharp sting in her chest as she listened closely to Rasiel's voice but only heard him repeating himself in obvious shock. "WHAT DID YOU DO TO SAKURA?!" she screamed, worried for her.
Rasiel flinched at Alice's screaming through the phone as he closed his eyes. "I'm not here. None of this happened. Oh god, what have I done? Is she dead?" he ranted to himself as he dropped his violin and looked at Sakura with tears in his eyes. "I never wanted THIS to happen."
She paused to listen to Rasiel as he ranted to himself even more. "WHAT HAPPENED?! RASIEL, TALK TO ME! WHAT DID YOU DO TO HER?!" Alice continued to scream. She wasn't getting much information. Decided to snap him out of his daze, she said the last thing she should have said. "Rasiel, mother is on her way to find you. Now you better tell me what happened and I'll stop her or you can keep ranting and mother will find out for me." she threatened in an angry tone.
Rasiel was suddenly filled with fear as Alice spoke to him, no longer yelling. "M-mother?!" he muttered and dropped the phone. In utter devastation and shock, he stood perfectly still, eyes wide.
"Hello? Rasiel? HEY! HELLO?! RASIEL, CAN YOU HEAR ME?! WHAT'S GOING ON?!" she started to yell again as she knew she wouldn't hear him answer her anymore. Closing the phone, she began to concentrate her powers. "Come on. I've done it before. Now I need it." she mumbled as she howled and a pair of ears and a tail sprouted from her body and her arms and legs got a bit darker in color, turning her hands and feet into paws. Alice screamed out in pain as she transformed, but not even all the way. Taking advantage of this opportunity, she got down on all fours, sniff the ground a little, then took off running out of the house after Syth. 'I'm sure she'll get there first, so if I follow her, she'll take me straight to him.'
Rasiel heard Alice voice faintly yelling through the phone on the floor then hung up. He whipped around and looked at Deskri. "This is all your fault. I didn't want to hurt her. No one was supposed to know about what I do. I blame you. This all YOUR FAULT!" he screamed, glaringly angrily at him with tears in his eyes. "Now my mother will know everything and it's all over. I won't even have a mother anymore! All because of you!" he continued, more tears welling up in his eyes.

#How are we today, other half of me?# [Diary Entry]
Alice had arrived back into the Metamorphosis Academy from her long search for her father. Word had gotten somehow into the dim dark room that was once Alice's. Except now the room had recently been occupied by the one named Rasiel. Figurines were broken, pills strewn across the floor, and in the trash can would be seen many disposed of bloody razors from past fits of angry and sadness. His bad thing clawing at his mind to come out. Words whispered so faintly to halt in action, yet they'd never be heard. Blackouts and hallucinations filled his mind, blanking out yet again to come back possibly moved from where he last was. With a desperate need for oxygen, he opened the blinds to the window with the intention of opening it. Yet, his attempt failed when sunlight filled the room and he stumbled back with a hiss. Blinded was he to the world outside that he hadn't seen for months. With a sigh, he finally decided to try to escape the bad things in his mind by leaving the dusky room. As the door opened, out emerged the pale, thinned boy, violin in hand. His return to Metamorphosis would not be as recognized as Alice's might have been. But at least,... maybe even once, he'd be able to see Deskri again.

#Bloodied Melody#
Rasiel entered his room, seeing it empty, save the pair of red eyes in the corner that slowly faded into the darkness. He grunted, knowing he was being watched once more. Moving toward the desk he sat, opening a drawer, pulling out his journal. He opened it, paused for thought, then glared at the pencil and pulled it hard across his wrist, making a deep gash. Rasiel sighed with relief as he began to write, smearing blood across the page as he did so.
Rasiel paused, wiping a tears from his eyes, then drawing the pencil across his wrist again, making another deep gash across his wrist. He left out a small whimper and sniffle then continued to write.
Rasiel paused, coughing for a moment. He leaned back and looked back into the corner, the pair of red eyes staring back at him once more. He glared again and the eyes faded and vanished. He sat upright and began to write again.
...for now..>
He stood and closed the book, placing it back in the drawer along with the bloodied pencil. Rasiel took a hand full of pills from the desktop that had been strewn there and placed them in his mouth, swallowing hard. Moving out of the room, he walked to the living room and sat at the grand piano and began to play a sad melody. As he played, blood smearing across the piano, he began to miss more and more keys as soon, he fell over onto the floor unconscious. The bad thing laughing in the back of his mind once again.

#Stolen Freedom#
Dr. Eternal stood up and left Andy's bedroom, closing the door behind her, as she sighed once more. She knew it was a lie that she would take her to the park and she felt terrible for lying to Andy. Eleana just couldn't bear to see anything happen to Andy. Andy was the only thing she had left. Eleana clutched a small necklace in her hand, inside it looked like a golden orange feather of some sort.
Rasiel stared at Eleana from across the living room, curious as to her feelings.
"Please watch Andy for me, Rasiel. I need to go to the lab and finish up some paperwork." Dr Eternal instructed.
Rasiel nodded and got up from the couch and walked to Andy's bedroom and opened the door, closing it behind him. Andy stared curiously at him and smiled at him.
"Hey, Andy, want to go outside with me?"
"Momma said no park until the weekend!"
"Well, mother isn't home, so now I am the one who makes the rules. And I say we can go to the park." he grinned at the little girl.
Andy pondered for a moment then smiled, figuring it made sense so it had to be true and nodded.
Rasiel took Andy's hand and his violin in his other hand and left the house with her.

#Unwanted#
Rasiel picked up Andy and placed her in the window seal of the living room so she could climb down inside. He then followed suit as he pulled himself into the window. Suddenly, a hand grabbed his arm and yanked him violently through and onto the floor.
"WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?!" Eleana yelled.
Rasiel looked up to see the stern eyes of his Aunt staring down at him and little Andy forced behind her. "I took her to the park!" he retorted angrily and stood up, dusting himself off.
"The Park?! I don't know how my sister raised you, but in my house you will obey my rules! I told her she could not go outside!"
"Why, so you don't have to worry about her getting hurt? She's fine! Why can't you just let her go outside?!" Rasiel demanded, growling with fury.
"Because it's dangerous outside! You both could have been hurt or kidnapped!" Eleana threw her hands up in the air and then placed them on her hips, leaning down to overshadow Rasiel.
He wasn't scared as he glared at Eleana. "You can't lock her up here! Just because Blaise is gone, doesn't mean Andy will too!"
A hand drawn back came hard across Rasiel's face as he could feel it sting and a small smile came across his face then faded quickly.
"Don't you dare talk to me like that! I can't wait for you're mother to come back. You're her family, not mine. And the moment she comes back, you are outta here!" Eleana ruled as she took Andy by the hand forcefully and dragged her to her room. Andy looked back at Rasiel with sad eyes. "Big brother.." she called out softly. Eleana glared at Andy, "He's not your brother! He's your cousin! And barely that at all."
Rasiel just stood there and watched Eleana take Andy away from him. He knew then what he wanted to do. 'We will have her back, because she is ours and no one else's.' the voice from the back of his mind surfaced with a sense of confidence. Obscurite assured that Andy would return to him, and Rasiel realized that he would have to get Andy outside again and teach her to rebel against Eleana. It was meant to be that way, because Obscurite said it was so.

#The Rescue#
Over the next few years, Eleana had found countless new reasons to ground Andy and prevent her from going outside. Many nights were played out that Eleana would tuck in Andy for bed, and as soon as Eleana had gone to sleep, Rasiel would sneak into Andy's bedroom. Almost every night, they sneak out the window by tying blankets together and sliding down to the ground floor. Rasiel would make sure to get them back before the sun rose so they wouldn't get caught. A few times, Eleana had caught them sneaking back in and would ground them both and lock all ways out of the house. Eleana seemed paranoid that something terrible would happen to Andy and would constantly argue with Rasiel about Andy's inability to be let outside.
Most nights that Rasiel was either asked to sleep elsewhere or locked out of Andy's room, Andy would open her bedroom window and sing to the stars in the sky. She grew up sheltered from the outside world, unknowing of how to make friends, but a strong bond with Rasiel was formed. To her, he was her big brother and cared deeply for him. Andy wrote him poems and songs, and sang to him often as Rasiel grew more and more protective of her.
But as the days went on, Rasiel had lost touch with his human self and his 'bad thing' became stronger in his mind. Andy would help him fight off the bad thing in his mind, but the battle was not always won, and sometimes Andy would even get hurt. Eleana began to worry that Rasiel would hurt Andy or worse and began to separate them more. Until eventually, when Rasiel had grown into a young teenager, she suggested that he find his way to acquire a dorm room for himself.
Rasiel was outraged, and refused to be separated from Andy, and after much fighting, Rasiel was kicked out of the house. A week passed that Andy was alone, locked in her bedroom and the windows nailed shut tightly. The outside world seemed like such a distant dream to her and soon began to believe she'd never leave her prison-like bedroom.
After a week or so, Andy sat at her desk, writing songs of how much she missed Rasiel. A tap came from the window as she got up and looked out the window. It was Rasiel. Andy tried hard to open the window with no luck. She tried the door, but it looked as though she was trapped for good. Rasiel began to play his violin, his bow sliding across the strings violently as it resonated a soothing tune that echoed a sleepy feeling throughout the house. Andy returned to the window and began to bang on it, and picking up things to smash it against the window. Still no luck. Her eyes began to tear up. "Big brother, help me!" she cried out as she pounded her fist on the glass. She began to cry out loudly as tears erupted from her eyes and she began to scream in anger from being trapped. Suddenly, the glass and anything else made of glass in her room shattered into pieces.
Andy was confused but took the opportunity quickly.
"Andy! Andy, are you okay?!" Rasiel called out.
She stuck her head out the window and nodded, pulling her legs up and out the window. She took a deep breath and pushed off from the window, falling down towards the earth.
He quickly flapped his wings hard to burst forth from the ground and catch her as he helped her descend softly without being hurt.
"You came back for me.." she whispered as she smiled.
Rasiel grinned and nodded, letting her down gently. "We have to go quickly, we'll hide out somewhere until Eleana stops looking for you. I promise, I will give you your freedom."
"Thank you, big brother."

#Go Back to Sleep# [Diary Entry]
Sleep, dear Andy. You know not the monsters that threaten to take you away from me. No matter how much I fight, I feel cannot always protect you even though I promise myself every moment of my life. I've come a long way, only to realize that everyone I held close has left me alone. So just sleep, little Andy, as I can only pray you soon forget about me and all you know of me. I will protect your dreams, but I cannot forgive myself if I were to let Obscurite hurt you. I don't care if it's real, it won't change how it feels.
Everything about you wants to make me change, make me become that knight that will always protect you from your nightmares. But what good can I do if I cannot even protect myself. You will never know my feelings for you, and I can only hope you will never know. It is a strange thing indeed, but it's something I cannot ignore. I've never felt this close to anyone in my life, and it scares the hell out of me. I know you can't resist to be close to me, but the closer you are, the more it will only hurt you.
Just sleep and dream of happy times and when you wake, we will find another dream to lie about. Because in your dreams no one will cry alone, and no one will die alone. If only that were true.
If only you knew how much of a monster I really was.

#Escape# [Music Lyrics]
Escape by Muse You would say anything You would try anything To escape your meaningless And your insignificance You're uncontrollable And we are unlovable
And I don’t want you to think that I care I never would I never could Again
Why can’t you just love her? Why be such a monster? You bully from a distance Your brain needs some assistance
But I’ll still take all the blame 'Cause you and me are both one and the same And it's driving me mad And it's driving me mad I’ll take back all the things that I said I didn't realize I was always talking to the living dead
And I don’t want you to think that I care I never would I never could Again
You would say anything You would try anything To escape your meaningless And your insignificance

#Feelings of Deskri# [Diary Entry]
After so long, I had finally met Deskri again, but someone else is there now. Someone new, someone not me. My mind is in disbelief, my mouth cannot make words. My body is feeling warm, and my sight is blurry. Why do I feel this way? Why should I care what he does? Why.. Why does it hurt? I can't stand the feeling. How could I ever feel so attached to someone like him, a boy. I don't even like boys, so why try, why care, why even feel this pain. I just don't understand. I just don't know why it hurt so much to see that girl with him. So what if he has a girlfriend, it's not like I could jsut assume that he was...... gay.
I mean,..... I'm not gay! I don't like boys!
That's final.
So why does it still hurt to think about him?

#First Kiss# [Diary Entry]
Not even a day past my re-meeting Deskri and already Obscurite has gone and destroyed everything about it. In my weaken state after Andy had supposedly electrocuted me, I fell into one of those deep sleeps to heal. But I woke up to find Obscurite on top of Deskri. I thought he might be hurting him, so I tried to save him. Unfortunately, I think I should've just stayed asleep. They were having a moment together. Kissing. To say the least.
I can't believe Obscurite would do this to me! Everything.. everything is going to be different now. He'll probably think I'm gay and then our relationship will be through. I just can't believe it. It's not fair.
I don't think how many times I explain it, I'll still be considered gay for this. I mean, I'm not gay. How can I be? I don't even like boys. Besides, I would never be gay like my f*****t sister, anyhow. I will never be like her. NEVER!
I just.. I just don't know what to do now. I feel so humiliated, I could just go crawl under a rock and die. This is worse then going to school in nothing but your underpants. At least then you'd have a chance of explaining why you were only wearing underpants. But kissing another guy? There's no two ways about that. Guys kissing other guys is homo. And I am NOT a homo!!! I don't care if Obscurite is one, but I sure as hell am not gay!
Does that still count as my first kiss?

#Obscurite's Backstory: Part 1# [Birth of Oron]
The existence of demons was a constantly contemplated idea, but it wasn’t too long before all the questions that had been surfaced of demons and other mythical creatures had finally been answered. A woman named Uriel had claimed that she had been visited by a demon in her sleep and was seduced him to bear him a child. As usual, she was labeled as a lunatic and confined to a hospital that could help her with her delirium. After she was found to be pregnant, questions began to arise about the father. Uriel was convinced that she had been visited by a demon and she would bear his sin, in the form of a child. Nine months came and went as she slowly slipped into silence, never talking to anyone for a long time.
One dark night, she went into labor, and after many hours, they soon found something wrong with the baby. Something had prevented him the baby from leaving. They prepped her for surgery and gave her a C-section. Gasps had filled the room and spread into the halls of the hospital. Uriel’s delusions were not fake, but in fact real. The child she had bore had small horns and yellow glowing eyes. The child was indeed the result of Uriel’s visitation from a demon in her sleep. It wasn’t too long before the press had found out and crowded the hospital corridors. Days went by that they continuously tried to interview her and take picture of the baby. Some demanded the baby be killed, and others wanted to research the baby for their own personal gain. Too many reports crowded Uriel as she began to panic. “Give me my baby!” she screamed over and over again. As again and again she was refused. Something welled up inside her, something hot and burning as she closed her eyes tightly and just wished for everyone to go away. Just disappear.
The explosion in the hospital was reported everywhere in the news, alongside pictures of the demonic looking baby. Uriel had taken the baby within the confusion of the fire and had run away as quick as she could in the night. She had fled to the nearest city that knew nothing about the baby’s peculiar condition, or at least yet. She acquired herself a new identity, a new home, and kept her son hidden from the world as best she could. It had been days since she had seen her son. She gazed upon him lovingly as only a mother could. “My beautiful son.. your name shall be Oron.”

#Obscurite's Backstory: Part 2# [Memory of Oron: Age 6]
Oron had tried with all his might to hide who he was. Many times, he had been called a freak and a monster. He spent many days alone and without a friend. His mother tried her best to keep him safe but many occasions had shown that he was not accepted in this world. He did not belong in this world. He would never fit in. He had spent many days hiding in the alleyway near his home, an apartment in the outskirts of town. He’d sit alone and contemplate ending his life so that he could just get rid of his mother’s burden.
“Hello there, what’s your name?” a small voice had spoke to him. Oron lifted his head slowly, not expecting to ever be talked to. Usually people yelled at him, kicked him and call him a freak. He merely stared at her, waiting for her to scream in horror and run away.
“Can you not speak? My name is Lucia. Would you like to play?”
Oron looked at her questioningly. Shouldn’t she be running, shouldn’t she be hiding. This small girl should clearly be able to see he wasn’t human. He had horns afterall. The small girl held out a hand to the boy with a smile. Oron stared at it for a bit, contemplating his actions. He then reached out and grabbed her hand gently. So soft. He had never felt anything so soft as the touch of another human being besides his mother. He stood and waited for her to do something. The girl began to run toward the playground out in the open, pulling Oron with him. He became scared, he didn’t know where he should be going out to the playground. She led him to the swing and positioned him near one and then got up on the next swing. “Come on!” she called out happily and began to swing. Oron hesitated and then slowly crawled up on the swing and tried to start swing. He didn’t know how, so he rocked back and forth slowly, mimicking her moves. She laughed and a smile started to surface on his face. He was starting to feel happy to be here, the girl was laughing and it made him feel safe and wanted.
Suddenly, Oron felt something hit the back of his head and it knocked him to the ground hard. Confused, Oron struggled to pull himself back up. He felt something drip onto his leg as he looked down. He saw something red dripping down onto his leg from his head. Putting a hand up to his head, he pulled his hand down to look at his hand covered in a sticky red substance. His eyes grew wide with fear. The girl screamed loudly and Oron stood quickly to look at her. She was staring horrified at him. Oron began to panic as his breath quicken and he froze up, staring down at his red hand. Another sharp pain hit him again in the head as he was almost knocked over once more. Another hit his leg and another hit his back. Oron began to scream, horrified by the feeling as he turned around to see what was going on. The girl kept screaming. “STOP IT! NO! STOP!” There had been three older boys who had collected a bunch of large rocks and had been throwing them at Oron. “GET AWAY FROM HER YOU DEMON!” they screamed. Before he realized it, he began to run, but not for home. He began to run toward them. He knocked one of the boys, knocking all the rocks out of his hands. Oron picked up one of the large rocks and began to hit the boy as hard as he could in the head. Hitting him over and over again until the boy stopped struggling. Oron paused as the screams of all of the kids around him echoed in his ears. He dropped the rock and stood, peering down at the boy. He wasn’t breathing. “HEY! YOU, KID!” a deep voice yelled out from the side. A man was running toward him.
Oron broke out into a run away from the playground. He ran as fast as he could all the way to his home where his mother was. Slamming the door behind him, he slid down and curled up into a ball and cried. He just wanted it all to go away. He heard banging on the door from the outside. Uriel had entered and ran to Oron. “Honey, what happened?!” she exclaimed, looking over the wounds he had attained and panicking at the amount of blood on his face and hands. She helped Oron aside and opened the door and went outside to talk to the man. The door shut behind her. Oron could hear yelling and arguing. He continued to stay curled up, scared of the world behind that door. He could hear the man demanding justice, claiming he knew who Oron was and that he would call the police and tell them where they had been hiding. Uriel protested offering anything to keep him from reporting them. She offered everything, and he continued to yell. They argued for many hours before the man’s voiced had become distant and faded away. Uriel had entered again and walked into her bedroom, crying to herself for hours. Oron watched her sob, and eventually cry herself to sleep. Oron had remained curled up in the corner the whole night, eventually falling asleep himself where he was.

#Obscurite's Backstory: Part 3# [Memory of Oron: Age 8]
Oron hadn't seen Lucia since that day at the playground. He had put the idea out of his mind of her being a friend. She had screamed to see him in the end, he told himself. He woke up to see the house was dark, even in the daylight. He heard many noises, rumbling, crashing, and muffled words. Oron sat up in his bed, staring at the bedroom door, curious about the sound he was hearing. Sliding out of bed slowly, he approached the door slowly, as he pressed himself against the door, trying to listen to the words. He opened the door and looked out into the hallway. Nothing. He could still hear a bit of rustling coming from his mother’s bedroom. Something didn’t sit right with him. He could feel her pain, he could smell the fear irradiating from her room. Oron grabbed the doorknob slowly and turned it, pressing the door slightly ajar. He peeked in and his eyes went wide with horror.
There was a man, holding down his mother to the bed. She was bruised in her face, and was crying. Oron watched, frozen, eyes wide, his heart sinking in his chest. His began to clench his fists, anger welling up inside of him, like a flame set ablaze. He shoved open the door suddenly. “GET OFFA MY MOMMA!!” he screamed as he ran up and pounded his fists against the man. The man growled and shoved him aside violently. Oron was knocked into the nightstand and fell over. “Oron, h-honey, please… p-please just go back.. b-back to bed..” she asked with a weak voice. Oron looked over her naked body, tears in his eyes. She was bruised all over. He felt helpless as he just watched the man continue to violate his mother. “..s-stop it… stop it, STOP HURTING HER!!” he cried out, tears overwhelming him.
The man growled even more, “Get that kid out of here!” he yelled as he got up, and pulled Uriel up as well and flung her lightly toward Oron. “H-honey. Please… listen to mommy now. Y-you must go back to sleep now. Th-this is all… j-just a bad dream.” She couldn’t help but cry, ashamed that her son had to see her this way. “But momma! This isn’t a dream! I have to save you! We have to get out of here! We have to go to a different place! You said we were going to go someplace where we could be free!! Please, momma!!! Let’s run away!!! Let get out of here!!!!” he rambled, sobbing as he spoke quickly, tugging at her arm to follow him. Uriel choked back more tears as she walked forward enough to let Oron leave the room and then kneeled down to face him. “Oron, sweetie.. I’m trying to protect you… run away from here… far away from here… You must understand.. He’ll tell everyone we are here if I don’t do this.. They’ll hurt you if they find you.. so just go. We’ll be together one day.. I promise.” She pushed him lightly then shut the door on him, locking it. “MOMMA!!! MOMMA!! MOMMA COME BACK!!!” he screamed as he pounded against the door with his fists. He hit the door repeatedly until he had no more strength to hit it. He fell to his knees and rest his head on the door and just screamed until his voice went raw and he couldn’t scream anymore. He could hear his mother screaming out in pain on the other side and there was nothing he could do to help her.
Finding the strength to ignore the yelling, he stood and turned away from the door, his face stained with many tears. He closed his eyes tightly and gripped his hands shut as he took a daring step away from the door. He gave up. He had to. There was no more fighting anymore. His mother was right. If he stayed there any longer, he would surely be found. His mother sacrificed her body to give Oron enough time to run away safely. He knew that he wouldn’t leave her sacrifice to be in vain as he turned, grabbed a blanket he found on the floor and ran out of the apartment and out into the alleyway. He ran as fast as he could and hid himself by running into the forest. He covered his head with the blanket while he was inside cities so that he wouldn’t be so easily spotted. He ran very far away until his legs couldn’t move anymore. After a while of resting, he looked back in the direction he had been running, and realized that he really was alone in the world.

#Obscurite's Backstory: Part 4# [Memory of Oron: Age 19]
Oron had found a town, blind to the news of his life in this world. He had done the same as his mother and obtained himself an apartment. He did a good job of hiding his features, growing out his hair and wearing hoods or hats. He made sure never to look someone in the face so he could keep his eyes hidden from others. Oron succeeded in staying hidden, or so he thought. Upon walking down the same streets every night, he would walk and think about the world he was trapped in, hoping to someday find his mother again. Praying that she still loved him like she did when he was a child. He knew this side of town well, it was not the greatest part of town, more sleazy than anything else. These parts were filled with crime, corruption, whores, and drugs. Everything that would cover the life he had, making it easier to fit into the shadows amongst the more corrupted people of the town.
He walked, with his hands in his pockets, avoiding eye contact with anyone. Oron walked to the front apartment building and sat down on the steps. He pulled out a cigarette and motioned to find a lighter to light it. As he gripped his hand around the smooth fire-making device, something caught his attention. A woman had approached him and leaned forward to display her cleavage almost like a sample of the goods. Oron sighed, “I’m not interested..” he commented in a deep raspy voice, one of a heavy smoker.
“Come on, honey. I can show you a good time..” she objected with a smile.
Oron growled under his breath. “Look, I told you I’m-..” he looked up at the woman and paused, this woman looked very close to the image of his mother, but this was not her. No, she was someone he had met before. “L-lucia?” he questioned as his mouth had opened so wide as the cigarette fell out of his mouth.
“Do I know you?” she asked, a look of worry and concern growing in her face.
“Come with me..” he said in a low voice, grabbed her hand and began to pull her into the alleyway.
“L-look, if you want a good time, Y-you’re going to h-have to pay!” she demanded, becoming scared of the situation.
“I’m going to get you out of here.”
She then pulled back in protest. “If you don’t let me go, I’m going to tell my guard! Let go!” Oron whipped her around and pinned her against the wall. Lucia went to scream and he placed a hand over her mouth. She tried hard to fight him as within the struggle, his hood was knocked down to reveal his horns. Lucia gasped, “Y-you! You’re that boy!”. She stopped struggling, eyes wide in amazement. Oron sighed, being reminded at how much of a freak he was underneath his cloaks. He turned to her, his face stern, told her to stay with him then grabbed her hand and led her through the backdoor of the apartments and up to his room. Lucia had explained that she was in a lot of debt and that partaking in the exchange of money for favors was the only way to ease her financial burden as Oron had done everything he could to make her feel comfortable while she explained her dilemma. Oron offered to take her with him when he moved to the next town. She was unsure of whether to take the offer, scared of leaving without word to those that controlled her business. Lucia told him she would think about it, and she would tell him her answer later. Oron offered her to stay the night, even to give her money just to keep her off the streets for a night or more.
The next morning, Oron woke to find Lucia gone. His heart sank, feeling like he had been betrayed once again by the people in this world. He contemplated leaving the town, just to get away from his pain, when Lucia suddenly burst through the front door. “Hey, these guys found your mother! Uriel, they have her!! I tried to get her, but they were too quick. I saw where they are hiding out, I can take you there right now!!!” she exclaimed in a hurried and gasping manner. Oron felt hope in his mind, finally being able to see his mother again after so many years. Lucia took him to a warehouse where she had seen them take Uriel. They entered the warehouse, which look deserted on the outside, but looked like a research facility on the inside.
“What is this pl-..” It suddenly went dark as something was pulled over his head. Oron screamed out and struggled, throwing someone to the side easily. Four more bodies tackled him as Oron yelled out in anger, his hands began to engulf themselves in flames. Oron heard men yelling to each other to try to suppress him. “GET THE COLLAR ON HIM! NOW!!” some man yelled as something cold pressed against his neck and wrapped itself around to close on his throat. The collar felt like it was burning him, making him feel weaker. The bag was removed from his head and the men backed away from him.
Oron growled, becoming easily disoriented as the flames on his hands diminished and returned to his body and died out. It confused him, something about the collar was suppressing his powers. Oron grabbed at the collar, but the collar began to hurt him further the more he struggled. Eventually, he had grown so weak that he fell to the ground, looking up at Lucia.
“..y-you..” Lucia had a look of shock and worry on her face as she stepped back. “You said you wouldn’t hurt him! You said you wanted to talk to him!!” she yelled at the men. They laughed. Oron felt like that was the queue that everything had been a setup the whole time. “At least let Uriel go!” she demanded. A man entered the room, dragging a woman with a bag on her head. He threw the woman down onto the floor next to Oron, pulling the bag off of her head to show Oron that it was indeed his mother. Her face, less than a foot away from his. “m-mom..”
“Oron, my son…” she spoke weakly with a smile, happy to be able to see her son again.
“I’ll let Uriel go. Seeing as she has served her purpose and we have no use for her now. She was useful in creating that lovely collar of yours, Oron.” The man spoke, walking over and pushing a foot onto Uriel’s shoulder forcefully. “Goodbye my dear, Uriel.” The man drew a gun and pointed it at Uriel, grinning wildly as he cocked the gun and pulled the trigger, the bullet piercing into her head. Oron’s eyes went wide with terror as his mother’s face bubbled and exploded into his. Blood splattered onto his face and neck as he could not believe what he was seeing. Oron shut his eyes tightly and began to scream, his scream lasting for at least for a minute or two before it died done and tears overwhelmed his very being. The last thing he remembered of that day was screaming and kicking as he was dragged away from his mother’s dead body. Lucia’s shrieks echoing through the halls until they faded away, his eyes became glazed over as her stopped struggling and everything faded into black.
