Switch gripped Kale's shoulder a little tighter when the boy chomped at him, her green eyes wide. Oh great, another kid with sharp teeth. Heaven forbid Kay gets near this one; the boy had enough scars as is! The shop keeper nodded at Kale's words, slowly moving away to stand beside him as opposed to slightly behind him.
"Yes, we're here to keep you safe. We...want to take care of you, give you the chance you need for a good life." Switch added, slippig her hand into Kale's at the mention of 'we'. It wasn't two seperate people, they were the same unit. With a bit of a start, she switched her attention to the sleepy Kay.
"I'm sorry sweetie, we didn't mean to." She added to Kale's words, watching the boy slowly wake up. She let Kale introduce the new member of the family, and with an inward grimance, wasn't surprised by what came next.
Kay seemed to snap awake, and with a big grin rushed over to his brother, leaning in and completely invading his personal space. Teeth! He'd seen teeth when he spoke! Awesome teeth! "Hi I'm Xbalanque but everyone calls me Kay! Say something else please?" He said eagerly, his red eye flickering up to look at those creepily awesome eyes before jolting back down to stare at his mouth. At least he was mildly polite?

Quinn stared at both of the adults as they tried to reassure him that they were there for his safety and stayed still otherwise so long as they stayed over there for now he was fine, happy, and fantastic. He wrapped his arms about himself and watched them and even at the new person as the adults talked to him.
"Kay I wou--," Kale tried to advise but it came too late.
Not only was the other boy rushing toward him but also got right up into his face and Quinn felt a trill of panic run up along his spine along with the urge and the need to snap his jaws inches away from Kay's and scoot back a bit and glower lightly at him, as he stared back at the boy's one eye and furrowed his brow as he tried to keep a bit of a distance while not falling off of the other side of the table, "Something else," he murmured a bit distrustfully.
It bothered Quinn that he couldn't quite place why he recognized this boy somehow and it bothered him more that they felt similar in 'age'. He said nothing more for now.
Kale flinched at the exchange and furrowed his brow his gaze flicking over to Switch, "Think they'll be able to share a bed...?"

"Kay d---" Whelp, that was too late.
Kay gasped when he was snapped at, jerking his head back slightly out of reflex alone. His body stayed where it was though, and when Quinn leaned away, Kay was practically grinning from ear to ear. Leaning forward again, he looked more excited than ever. Nahual on the other hand was less than pleased. The ever-irritated snake had made a motion to strike but didn't actually hit the other boy, just spat an open mouthed hiss at him, baring his fangs.
"That. Was. Awesome!" He laughed out, hopping onto the table to sit beside Quinn, turning to fold his legs in front of him. "You have the coolest teeth ever! I only haff phanghs shee?" As he spoke he hooked a finger into the corner of his own mouth, tugging it to show Quinn his rather fanged canines. Hand dropping, he rubbed his hand on his pants and was momentarily distracted by Nahual, who while still hissing in distrust at the shark boy was curling down to wrap around Kay's neck possessively. This boy was his to bite, not Quinn's!
Grinning, he grabbed Nahual's head so he couldn't bite anymore, and held the serpent out a bit for Quinn. "This is Nahual! You can pet 'im if you want, I won't let'im bite you!" Kay was...more than eager to share everything with this amazingly awesome person.
Switch, who had been watching with wide eyes, merely sighed. "I have a feeling they'll make it work." Kay's threshold for pain was as high as his fear for the world was low. Unless Quinn seriously ripped into him, she had a feeling Kay would survive and potentially learn from some warning bites.

Quinn leaned back and back and watched as the snake reacted and let out a mocking hiss of his own at the snake and glowered faintly as he watched the other boy as he sat next to him welcome or not. Augh this just got better and better but at the same time while feeling repulsed at the idea of having someone, anyone, so close ... This Kay person was kind of interesting and was praising him which seemed to do a great deal to soothe the distrustful soul of the pale shark boy and so, for now, he allowed Kay to sit near so long as he didn't touch.
The shark boy stared down at the snake a as it was held out toward him, his pupil-less eyes just staring before he reached out a hand and gave the snake a firm tap above the feathery eye ridge. The snake didn't rank high on his personal opinion polls. In fact the snake ranked somewhere amongst overly cooked meat and fin rot.
Kale nodded a bit and crossed his arms over his chest, "You're right," he replied to Switch quietly as he watched the boy's interact at least Quinn wasn't biting at Kay anymore...For now.

Kay seemed to think that Quinn hissing back at Nahual meant they were the bestest of best friends already, and happily skipped into the land of delusion. This was going great! Nahual hissed at the tap and the moment Kay let him go, he snapped at the new boy and curled into Kay's messy hair, hiding from both boys for his troubles. Not that he could hide from Kay of course.
"So your name is Quint? Or was it Quinn? How'd Chit get your item? Na won't let him near the shop!" Because the boy would obviously have those answers. Maybe Quinn was some super awesome ninja shark and snuck in. Kay new that it was Kale who was Quint's 'official' Guardian, because the Shaman could feel the bond to him and not to Switch...it was one of his talents. And, more importantly:
"Do you like steak? Na makes mine all bloody and it's awesome." Apparently, they'd had steak for dinner.
"...When do'you think we should tell Quinn he's stuck with that?" She whispered to Kale.

"Quint," the pale boy responded simply with a shrug, "but I guess I'll listen to Quinn. He found me," is all he said on that matter. Quint wasn't too much of a sharing individual he was quite happy to let that stupid snake go and hide in fact the less he saw of that thing at the moment the better off he felt about the fact that it existed at all. He'd teach the snake a thing or two about biting in the end if it kept this up. He had more teeth. He really didn't care that the snake felt possessive about the whole biting thing, Quint was just doing what came naturally.
He shifted his shoulders a bit though the idea of blood caught his interest as he peered at the one-eyed boy, "Bloodier the better," he murmured lightly and a small grin appeared.
Kale blinked a bit at Switch's question and chuckled, "And ruin the surprise?"

"Quinn. Okay, Quinn!" Kay was still grinning wide, seemingly content that the boy wasn't talkative; Na always told him he could talk enough for two people, after all! As long as Quinn acknowledged him somewhoe, the Shaman would be more than happy to prattle on relentlessly.
"....Yes!" Kay said happily, wriggling in his seat before clamping his hands down on his newest Brother's shoulders. Fear? Naaaaah, Quinn didn't mean any harm ever! "You're gonna love Na's steak! She makes awesome rare steak!"
Switch, who actually really hated making rare steak (she was always afraid someone would get sick), made a face and clung to Kale's arm, staring at her stupidly fearless Shaman boy and the new Shark boy.

He was okay with Kay. Perfectly fine. He would just have to adjust and figure out how to deal with the other boy and ...
Kay was touching him. Why was Kay touching him? Did he not notice his aversion earlier did he not realize that touching his person would bring the sharp toothed boy large amounts of displeasure and awaken disaster? Quinn tensed up as nature coursed through him and suddenly his head snapped toward the arm nearest and he bit down. It wasn't that he disliked the other boy he was okay with him until the touching started. Uninvited touching. Though from what he heard he'd have to get used to it for a time.
Still, right now, he didn't have to deal with it, he didn't want to deal with it right now until he had to deal with it.
Kale made a face as Quinn moved to bite Kay and hoped the boy had the sense to move, but it was unlikely, "Quinn! You're gonna have to share a bed with him you know!" Kale uttered a small sigh, "Maybe we should get him a muzzle.."

Kay yelped in pain when Quinn bit him...really yelped. He'd been bitten by Nahual and Tek, but neither of them had the same biting power that this shark boy did. It actually hurt! Like, REALLY hurt! "Ouch, leggo!" He whined, though he didn't let his new brother go, either. On principle he didn't want to, though at first it was almost instinct to him to grasp tighter. "Your teeth hurt!" He stated...with a bit of a giggle? Switch honestly hoped that he was giggling as a defense mechanism and that it wasn't due to some affinity for pain. Pleeeease let it be a defense mechanism!
The blue haired woman had yelped when Kay did, clinging onto Kale's arm a little tighter. She wanted to go to the boys, but in all honesty she was terrified of Quinn biting her. Of course She was scared of lasting damage on Kay, but Kay...was a lot more resilient than she was. "Agreed. It'd be easier than teaching Kay about personal space..." She groaned in disgust, noticing the amount of blood that was sliding off of Kay's arm.
"Quinn...l-let him go." Switch said with as much authority as she could muster, though her knees were feeling weak and her head starting to feel...dizzy. "K-kay, apologize, let go." She was trying her best to be a Parental figure...but really? She just wanted to hurl.

Quinn held on stubbornly with a bit of a frown and a glare and what was that? He tasted blood. His eyes went round and wide and had an odd quality to them that was almost...lusting? Bloodlust quickly filled the boy and he uttered a small growl as the darker skinned boy kept talking to him and touching him. Even though if Kay let go now it probably wouldn't matter.
Kale watched with an expression of worry mixed with a bit of horror and he put his hand over Switch's hand from where he could reach them before he gently pried her off of him and made her sit down. It didn't seem like Quinn was going to let go any time soon and if nothing was done. He pressed a kiss to Switch's forehead for good luck before he strode over and flicked Quint against the nose with thumb and forefinger with as much authority he could muster the dark man spoke, "Your mother said let go, and so do I!"
The shark-toothed boy yelped and let go immediately pushing himself away from his 'brother' and turning away from everyone as he grasped his nose with watering eyes. Augh! That was unfair! That sensation was so painful and and...
Watching Shark Week on the educational channels had obviously paid off for Kale.
"Son of a b***h," Quinn grumbled lowly with an indignant sniff.

Kay could only stare at his new brother. Did he...just growl at him? He couldn't tell for sure, but he was pretty convinced that it was a growl. His arm was actually hurting now; pain was a sensation he didn't feel too intensely, but damn did this hurt! Still, he wasn't letting go until Quint did...he was equally as stubborn, and the pain wasn't yet enough to send him running.
Eventually though, Kale came to his rescue and the boy let out a sharp hiss when the teeth retracted, his free hand lifting to hold his bloody arm, putting pressure down on it like it was instinct. He was caught between making sure his arm wasn't going to fall off and looking at Quinn paw at his own nose. Yeah, he was in pain, but he was used to pain, pain he could deal with...Quinn didn't look used to it though.
Switch had watched the entire thing silently, feeling sick to her stomach at the sight and smell of the blood...but she couldn't help but smack her own face with the palm of her hand when Kay leaned in to check on Quinn.
That boy never did learn, did he?
"Come on Kay...leave him alone, lets get you cleaned up."
"Inna minute, Na!" The Shaman boy said, waving off his worried parent with a carefree wave, his attention back on Quinn. "Oooh are you okay? That look'd like it hurt~" He asked sincerely, tilting his head practically sideways while he leaned over, so he could look at his Brother's face.

Kale frowned a bit at the language the shark-toothed boy spoke and shook his head, "Keep that up and I'll give you another one to accompany the first one," the dark man threatened trying to keep his authority in place. Of course he wouldn't be able to always control what came out of the boy's mouth but he at least wanted to try and let him know that that sort of talk was unacceptable until someone else crossed the line and let curses fly.
Quint peered back at Kale in order to glare but caught himself an eye full of Kale, "Don't. Touch. Me." he said clearly, "I...I'll be fine. I just..don't like to be touched," The paler boy murmured as he tried to retreat from Kay's closeness but he was getting the sinking feeling that he wasn't going to be very successful at all. "...Won't bite when we sleep in same bed."
That was really the best Quinn could do and even that promise was a thin one. Who could control what they did when they slept? Very few could, but hopefully it wouldn't be near as hard or strong.
Kale frowned as he drifted back over to Switch to make sure she was okay.

"I'm fine, Kale." Switch murmured, pinching the bridge of her nose. She wasn't fine, but if she pretended it would probably help a lot. With a thin smile to her mate, she stood up and gave him a little kiss and a hug. "I promise." She informed him softly. Quinn had promised not to bite Kay while they slept, and that was all she could hope for. Otherwise, she didn't think Kay would survive such close proximity with yet another bite-y brother. "Why don't you show Quinn around while I get Kay bandaged? Then we should all get back to bed..." She suggested with a hint of a yawn.
"Oh. 'Kay then." Kay hummed, hopping off of the table and wandering over to his strangely sick looking Guardian. A moment later, they disappeared into the bathroom together...and, once he was bandaged up, Kay was shoo'd to bed.
Switch was all too happy to get back to sleep, clinging to Kale.

He almost argued with her but decided to take her word for it after she kissed and hugged him, both of which he returned affectionately. He nodded at her promise and let her go, "I think I will," was all he said before he wandered closer to the shark boy who had recovered from his ordeal by then and when waved to follow he did so obediently. First they went to the kitchen were Kale wetted a papertowel so that Quinn could wipe some blood from his face and showed him where to discard it. Kale uttered the 'rules of the house' which were simple and to the point. Quinn listened quietly and followed along and made note of where the rooms were as he was shown them and asked small question but other than that he was ready to just go to bed and get that portion of his day over with.
By the time Kay was ready for bed Quinn was already in it taking up a small portion of it all coiled up trying to avoid touching Kay if at all possible but he would try to stay good to his promise as best as he could while they slept in the same bed. Quinn dearly hoped a second bed would be coming soon. He wasn't mean or cruel by nature he just wanted his own space.
Kale had joined Switch in bed shortly after he was sure Quinn wasn't going to take another chunk out of Kay and all too happily hugged onto his mate and held her and fell asleep with her. It felt nice to be back home as chaotic as it was.
