"I think you might have noticed by now... that you should worry more about yourself than me, my dear," a pause, "Or maybe... not that much anymore, with the fact you've inherited an immortal's powers," he turned to lay down on the ground, using the back of the den to recline against it; it did bring up not-so-old memories and he was surprised to note that they no longer to remember, "You have to be careful anyhow though..." his gaze darkened, "Even though gods don't truly pass away, they can still die - and when they are reborn.... they don't always retain their memories."
It was an indirect way of telling her that he would have been pretty upset if that had happened; if he were to have been forgotten, it'd have been a blow for sure, "Haven," he closed his eyes and a frown covered his features, "I haven't been there in a long time - my work keeps me here usually. That aside, I find I like it here better than up there. Mortals are far more agreeable than most gods," he made a small face and returned his attention to her. He looked her over, up and down, looking for injuries still, but found nothing.
She had retained a white pelt, but no markings what-so-ever, and despite the mildly canine features, he still found she looked quite nice, "Instinct. I believe it might fit you rather well."

She felt a bit guilty for it, but had to admit that she was glad that she could see for herself now just how much he cared. She listened, taking in everything that he said, his cautions and warnings, and frowned softly. Don't retain their memories...
So she'd need to be cautious... not to become reckless and get herself killed, she was sure she didn't even want to take that chance. Instinctively (No pun intended!) she moved closer, settling directly beside him in a way that they touched, sharing warmth, and helping to keep her grounded in the conversation and the here and now. It was probably natural that her thoughts would wander so much with so much new information to wonder on, but still, she knew there was a time and a place for it.
Having it suggested that it was possible to forget all about him and her past, though, was like a dousing of cold water. She was at full attention again now as she watched him remember. It was a rare conversation for them, one in which he was speaking more than her-- which was unusual in and of itself, but she was glad for it, she had certainly missed it in the last week. Kairi smiled a little, impish a bit there for the moment.
"I think so too... All of this, it's going to take a while to get used to, and she asked me to look after a wild dog pack for her, in specific. --Said I'd be meeting one of her familiars soon..." Kairi paused. "Then there's this..."
She reached up to where she had longer, finer fur that had grown from the top of her head.
"This is still taking some getting used to. How do I look?"

He seemed to welcome it when she lay against him, and let out another long winded sigh which seemed to have come from deep within, "You have time," he told her, "All the time in the world, in fact," he paused as she spoke and narrowed his eyes in thought, "Ah, I think I know what pack you speak of. I can't recall it's name, for the life of me, but I know where it is and..." he cut himself off as she asked him how she looked.
He looked at her in thought, but could not help but answer her honestly, if only but to get a reaction from her, "Like a wolf, my dear. Like a wolf," he only paused long enough to let it sink in briefly before adding some more, "However, you look charming regardless. I'd compliment you more but I think my mind is on overload still and I can't seem to kick it into proper functioning," another weary sigh; it looked like he was practically forcing himself to remain awake just for her.

Time... all the time in the world... That thought made her smile. Of course she'd miss her family and friends-- but she had already been doing that, so she couldn't claim it hurt any more than before --but being able to live as long as he did? That had a good ring to it at the moment. She laughed softly at his comment about her looking like a wolf, she didn't know what that was, but she found herself amused at the answer anyway, taking the latter half as a compliment. As she calmed Kairi offered a small purr, rubbing her head against him lightly. "You're right, there's plenty of time now... so you should sleep. I promise that I'll be right here when you wake up."

And with her words, he finally allowed himself to nod and recline forwards just so, enough that he was leaning his neck and head against her without causing her harm or discomfort, "Thank you," it was unclear if he was thanking her for allowing her to sleep, or for coming back to him... or both. Alas, he'd have time to tell her everything, soon enough.
