Happy with his earnings Ukiyo decided to quit while he was ahead. He walked to the corner of the pub and sat in a booth in the smoking section. A thick fog covered over this area and he smelt many different aromas coming in from many different directions. Ukiyo watched the pub doorway and waited for someone interesting to pass by.

Ukiyo's eyes widened as he watched the young man who entered the pub. It wasn't the fact that he won 1,300 shillings that caught his attention but instead it was what was hanging from the side of his hip. This little boy acquired an ancient weapon. But how?...Lord Fuzen must have given it to him. Hmm...but I wonder why. Ukiyo stood up and began making his way over to the boy. He waved at him, his eyes slightly open and an unreadable smile on his face. "Hey wassup kid? My name's Ukiyo, Ukiyo Sumizome. I see your pretty good with dice." Ukiyo looked towards Vinny, who seemed to have an angry look on his face, no doubt due to this kid's luck.

Ukiyo noticed that the boy had his guard up, and for good reason no doubt. Judging on the power level readings he was picking up on, he couldn't be above knight level. Ukiyo laughed a little bit inside when as he questioned Jinsoku's judgement on giving a young man like this a sword with such potential. He shook his head as he realized what Jinsoku's true intentions were. You like leaving the little ones with me don't you. Geez, and I thought I was a lazy b*****d. Ukiyo walked closer to Kai and began speaking loud enough for only him to hear. "Hey kid, that's a nice sword you got there. I can see that it is still on its first level though and even so, you're probably still not sure how to use it. I am a Noble. I work very closely with Lord Fuzen. If you come with me, I can show you exactly how to use that thing." Ukiyo looked down into Kai's eyes as he waited for his response.

Ukiyo began to chuckle as he looked at Kai. "Your smart to be cautious, kid. If you truly need verification we can take a walk to see Shadow, the hooded man at the Dark Cathedral. He know's exactly who I am, and he knows pretty well of my work. If you need even more proof, we can ask Kagetsuki. I'm sure he'll tell you." Ukiyo took a step back. His eyes and his hands started to glow sky blue as he looked at Kai. "But if it is my strength that needs to be tested. I'm sure you'll find me overqualified."

Ukiyo's hands stopped glowing as his countenance went back to the playful and cheerful appearance it was before. ((Ukiyo enters chibi mode))"Good choice. Oh I just knew you'd see it my way!" Within seconds, Ukiyo ran over to Kai, wrapping his left arm firmly around his neck while standing beside him, jumping up and down. "You're going to have so much fun being my apprentice, I assure you."

Ukiyo became serious again and the look on his face seemed very grim. "First I need to test your skills and abilities. You'll need to come with me to the desert tonight. It's a long trip and during the nights, the desert can be colder than some parts of the ice empire. If you're not completely prepared, you'll die." He watched closely to see if Kai would show any signs of fear. Ukiyo knew very well what waited for them in the desert. If Kai wasn't careful he could die. ((Ukiyo enters wiggly chibi mode)) "So whenever you're ready swing by the geisha house and get me. Take your time though, I have an appointment with a fine little lady that I'd like to keep going for as long as possible" Ukiyo became serious again as he gave Kai a deadly stare, "I'm serious though, don't bug me until later. I haven't gotten laid in over 3 days and that's a horrible problem."((Back into wiggly chibi mode)) "Well I'll see ya later than little buddy!" Ukiyo said as he wiggled his way out of the pub.
