Emma's ears shot forward at the sound of labored breathing within the lab, and she placed her hand on the doors. The metal melted underneath her fingers, leaving a sizzling hole large enough for them to get through. She slipped inside, following the sound of breathing straight to Cairndeer, barely noticing the wreckage and disarray around her.

As far as James was concerned, the arrival of the trio was heaven sent. He coughed a few times, trying to clear his throat, but his voice came out as just a hoarse whisper.
"... little help...?" He was cut off at the end by another cough, involuntary this time. That machine on him was neither environmentally friendly nor lung friendly when hit, apparently.Someone told me theres a girl out there

A flick of the wrist sent the piece of equipment flying apart, turned to iron filings. Emma practically flung herself down on the floor beside him, hands already aglow as she laid one upon his forehead and the other upon his chest, sending a rather hasty healing spell through him. James would feel as if his entire body had been plunged into ice water.

James shut his eyes tight - so cold. And he hadn't felt that feeling in a while, he remembered why he never used magic anymore. Useful but damned uncomfortable sometimes. His eyes opened halfway through the spell, trying to see if there was anyone else. Greene was gone, and Evros was in the corner, trying hard to breathe. He'd been hurt, too.
"s**t."
Even as the spell worked, so did something else. James covered his mouth with his hand as he began to see little spots in his vision.

Remus walked into the lab, eying the wrecked equipment, such as the Centrifuge and the Window. Though James had been hurt, Remus coldly skipped straight to the questioning.
"Cairndeer, what is this place?" he asked rather sternly.

"Lab. Work here." He said simply - and muffled - still covering his mouth, and motioning for the others to do the same. He looked frantically at Dr. Evros several times, trying to alert them of just what was happening. At least it wasn't one of the pressure plates, but honestly.

Hrothbert was kneeling beside the other wounded man, his spell slightly less painful and definitely more precise than Emma's. The enchantress was still kneeling beside the other elf, motioning for Remus to stay silent until she had finished healing.

A bit of anger began to well up within the Imperator. Being told to shut up was not something he took to kindly to, no matter how nicely it was said.
"I will not! I demand an explanation as to what you were researching in here! If you released some sort of super virus on my citizens...."

Chris ran inside, staring in horror at what happened to James.
"J-JAMES!!" She shrieked running over, shaking.
"What happened?" She gasped through her tears. He was hurt. If Chris had known earlier she would have come.
She stared trying to control her tears.
"Ca-Can you f-fix him?" She managed to stutter through her tears.

"We did no such thing, Imperator." The spots in his vision were getting wider, but he had a bit of resistance. "We were only working on the Centrifuge, there's no super virus."
Something went wrong, though, terribly wrong. What happened...?
"If you wait a little while, I can tell you about it, but if you value your mental health, you'll cover your goddamn mouth."

Emma tied off the healing spell and stood once she knew that James was alright, joining Hrothbert beside the other wounded one a few seconds later. He was taking a bit more time (being more delicate) with the spell, making sure that the healing would not disintegrate the moment the man stood up.

Remus growled but shut his mouth. He had many questions he wanted to be answered, but it seemed like he would have to wait for now. He crossed his arms and waited for them to get on their feet again. A part of him wanted to leave and search for Kaok on his own, but he wouldn't know where to start.

Evros stood carefully, bowing his head in gratitude to the sorcerer. James, meanwhile, had gotten up, one hand still over his mouth and other holding Chris' and made his way to a switch on the wall. The air began to vent, becoming free of the spores that Malcolm had inadvertently released. In a few moments, the spots began to disappear, and that sinking feeling that he'd had was mostly gone. There was still that problem though - where was Kaok?
Hoofprints led from the door to the machine, but no hoofprints led back to the door. Unless... the light above the cylinder was out, and there was little light in the tiny space. His ears twitched, the room now silent even the two humans would be able to hear breathing in the device. So she was in there, and alive.
"Kaok." James said after a second, mouth uncovered. "Come out."
She didn't speak, just sat there in the machine.
"Kaok, I mean it."
Dr. Cairndeer approached her. If she was hurt she wouldn't be able to get out, he might have to help her. "Ka-."
"Holy s**t."
The face of the girl inside the machine was exactly the same as it had been - though a certain familiar red decoration was missing - as well as most of her upper half, but elsewhere... in place of hooves there were feet.Someone told me theres a girl out there

Emma nearly fainted in shock. The elf-woman reeled, completely thrown off by this new revelation. Something in the air (already in her bloodstream) was lacing her blood with a paralyzing fear and concern for the human before her. She stepped forward, poking her head inside the machine.
"...Kaok?"
Hrothbert, meanwhile, was standing a few feet away, looking highly disconcerted as the pain of an old deathblow made itself known at his throat.
