i don't like ******** super long horse mane, but i really hate short hair.
i like cute messy just above shoulder-length, dunno if that counts as long.

Definitely depends on the guy and the cut.
But I think in general, I prefer medium-ish hair, like not longer than the shoulders but not super short either.

Long hair is fine as long as it's well taken care of. Longer than mine is questionable but not a deal-breaker. I tend to like it best if it's long enough to play with but not all up in your face.
EXAMPLE. My current boyfriend's hair is slightly past his ears, and it's clean. YAY. My last boyfriend's hair is past his shoulders, and he doesn't wash it regularly. GROSS.
