Deimos watched the way that Kay was offering him an arm, probably to make up for the one belonging to Jiang that he had to give up, and he gave a slight smile. He wanted to take it but he found his eyes lifting to look at the serpent, wondering if it would try to bite him if he got to close. He was lost for a moment in debate over what he should do but Kay seemed to make up his mind for him as he linked their arms together and led him off. The boy looked over to where Jiang was, watching as he got smaller before they turned a corner and he was out of sight. Things seemed to change slightly then, Jiang was Dei's rock so without him he did what came natural, he clung to Kay as he was a friend and therefore safer then all the scary things that were in the store that might try to get him.

He looked up at all of the bread that was there in front of him and he started to get mental images of it all coming crashing down on them. Bread was light though... surely even this much bread wouldn't be able to crush them, right? He surely hoped not... he gave a shiver before he stepped a little closer to his friend and away from the danger of grain based avalanches.

"I... umm... I don't know... I... g-guess whichever one looks the tastiest?" He said, not sure on the exact sort of bread that he was supposed to get, he only knew that he was supposed to get bread, he didn't know that there were so many kinds! What if they got the wrong one? What would happen then? He worried over that one and found himself liking the idea of leaving it up to Fate and the Eeny Meeny game all that much more, "We should try your idea." He said after a while of starring at all the sorts of bread.

Kay didn't mind at all when Deimos clung to him, in fact he only happily became the boy's Guardian Shaman as they wandered through the mall towards the breads. As Deimos gave what was in Kay's mind his professional opinion, the Shaman nodded thoughtfully, staring up at the wall of wheats. With a deciding hum, he pointed up at the bread.

"Okay, I've seen Na do this before, we'll go and touch one of every kind and see if it's soft." He didn't know why, but if Na insisted on it, and Na was always right, then it had to have been of some use! "And then we'll play Eeny Meeny and pick from the soft stuff!" With a bit of a wiggle he detached his arm from Deimos, pointing. "You take that half and I'll take this half, 'kay? Ready, go!" With a grin, he hopped forward and squished the bread...a little harder than he should. When that was done he moved to the next kind and then the next, occasionally looking over at Deimos to see how his new buddy was doing.

Poke the bread? He looked at the half that he was given to deal with and starred at it, wide eyed, as he tried to decide how he was going to go about this. He didn't want to anger the bread, as though going around poking at it might cause it all to fall... at the same time Kay was successfully going through and jabbing at the bread on his half and was seeming to be making it through all right. Of course Kay was a lot more intimidating then he was.

He took a step forward, then another... and another... keeping it very slow as he reached to poke at the first loaf. It squished under his finger but seemed to do nothing in retaliation which had the pink haired boy sighing in relief. Phew... that had gone a lot better then expected he thought to himself before he moved to the next one to do the same, then to a third one. It seemed that the third loaf of bread wasn't having it though as he poked it just right, disturbed the delicate balance, and a half dozen loaves of bread came falling off the shelf.

The miniature avalanche, while not life threatening, still resulted in a shriek of surprise escaping from Deimos before he vanished from sight, stumbling back as though the rest of the bread was going to follow where the first few had started... much to his embarrassment nothing else happened which had him slowly turning to where Kay was and found himself not wanting to come out of hiding after he made such a fool of himself in front of one of his very few friends... darn.

Kay's assault on his half of the breads went without a hitch...to him, anyway. A couple of the loaves ended up mildly crushed (but were slowly trying to perk back up, yay fresh yeast), but other than that nothing truly bad happened. The young Shaman's head snapped up when he heard the little shriek, his head tilting towards Deimos' sode of the bread aisle and finding...Deimos wasn't there?

Kay's brow knit in concentration. No, Deimos wasn't gone...he was...kind of here. He couldn't see the boy, but he could still feel his presense. Yes, Deimos was definitely there, but...where? His only eye squinted, looking from the fallen bread and around, trying to find the pink haired one.

"...Dei?" He called slowly, shuffling closer and patting around where he felt the most concentration of Deimos' energy. He was trying to find the boy! "Where are ya, Buddy?"

The pink haired child trembled a little bit, turning to look over toward where Kay was standing, watching as the other boy came over closer to him. He gave a little tremble as he got closer less out of fear and more out of shame due to getting frightened by fallen bread. He gave a shiver before he reached a hand out toward his friend, to wrap his arm around that of his friend before he came back into view. He couldn't seem to look up though, his gaze on the ground, "Ahh... S-Sorry... It just... I poked them and they fell... kind of startled me..." He said, clinging to Kay in hopes that his momentary freak out wasn't enough to turn the other off from being his friend.

He was shifting in place in an uncomfortable manner, looking very uncertain of himself, and he really, really wanted to fade away again. He really, really needed to try work at that whole bravery things, it became obvious to him now for then ever after being scared over something that he ate on a daily basis... something that wasn't ever danger since it never had claws, horns, legs, "I-I'm sorry." He said again.

Kay felt that...presense...draw closer to him, and startled a tiny bit when he felt something, or rather someone, wrap their arms around his. A wide red eye stared down at Deimos as the boy shyly kept his gaze on the ground, and even still as he seemed fearful to lose a friendship. It was rather touching actually, how much Deimos was trying to not lose Kay as a friend.

What did Kay think about this?

"You are AWESOME!" He cried out, his eye still wide but this time with a grin that practically reached from ear to ear. "You can turn invisible! That's a freakin cool power! Imagine what you could do with it..." Kay trailed off, no doubt thinking of a hundred and two uses of invisibility.

After a while, Kay seemed to realize what had gone on just before Deimos went invisible, and calmed down enough to chatter at Deimos in an even tone...or as even as he could manage. "Ah, but s'okay. We should get back at them maybe, ya think?" There was a mischievous glint in his eye, looking from Deimos back to the bread on the floor. "They scared you, we should teach them a lesson, y'think?" The grin that was on Kay's lips couldn't have meant anything good, but he left the decision up to the boy holding onto his arm.

That wasn't the reaction that he was expecting at all... Kay thought that he was awesome?! He starred up at the other boy with wide eyes, a little startled before he gave a bit of a smile, "Ahh... t-thank you." He said, glad that he thought of him in such a good manner instead of thinking badly on him for being a weakling, "Huh? What I could do with it?" Deimos in fact looked a little confused by the statement and set to thinking about it for a moment. He came up blank though, there was only one thing he used his power for and that was to escaped from things that scared him in hopes that if he vanished those things would give up.

"What sorts of things?" He asked of Kay, curious as to what the other boy would do if he were able to go invisible.

He glanced over at the bread as Kay spoke of getting back at it for scaring him, teaching it a lesson for it... and he gave a bit of a smile, "If... if you have any idea for it." He murmured after a short time of debate, if Kay knew a way to punish the scary bread that would be nice otherwise he wouldn't do anything personally. Last thing he wanted was an aisle full of bread that had a vendetta against him.

Kay waved off the thanks, thinking it's useless. Why thank him for some pretty awesome things? The boy nodded when Deimos repeated him, that twisted little grin on his lips. "Like...sneak up on people or sneak out of the house...or to get outta trouble!" About ninety percent of the things he could think up were mischievous...which shouldn't surprise anyone. There was an energetic nod and Kay reached out, grabbing two loaves of a bread that looked familiar; it was whole wheat bread. He held onto them both for now.

"We gotta run after we do though, mkay? I have our bread sooooo we can go find your Jiang after that!" Kay explained, then leaned in towards Deimos like he was making uber secret war plans with his buddy. "We stomp on 'em then run!" It took two seconds, but the war meeting was over and one of Kay's feet lifted, stomping down on one of the new, fresh loaves of bread. He waited for Deimos to follow his lead of course!

If Deimos did, that was wonderful! But even if he didn't, Kay did enough stomping for the both of them, and after he held onto Deimos' arm and bolted away form the bakery before anyone noticed the carnage.

Dei gave a soft laugh at that, the idea of using the power for anything that could get him in or out of trouble hadn't occurred to him. Likely because he spent most of his time being afraid of things and trying to figure out how to steer clear of all of those things he feared. He seemed to debate for a moment trying any of what Kay suggested but he didn't think that he could do it. Kay was another that he envied a little for his strength, something that Deimos wished he had even an ounce of.

He watched as Kay leaned in close, whispering the plan he had for getting back at the bread and it was... well it was quite simple really. He starred for a moment before he gave a nod, getting pulled along forward so that Kay could punish the bread via a lot of stomping down upon it. He took in a deep breath, building up every little drop of his courage, and swung a foot forward to give one loaf a little kick. He was quite surprised at what he'd done, it showed on his face, and he was happy when he saw Kay stomp down on that loaf after he'd kicked it to keep it from attacking back.

A moment later they were running off, Kay still holding onto him so that he didn't get left behind and he felt... a bit giddy. That had been kind of... fun he thought to himself as they rushed off in search of Jiang so that they could hand over the bread that they got for him.

Kay cheered rather loudly when Deimos seemed to join in, any little bit of action from Dei was good action! He would have been more than happy even if Deimos poked one with his toe! Kicking it was actually more than what Kay thought Deimos would do, and he was so, so proud of his new buddy. They made their great escape (though in the process he took a detour and managed to get everything else off of his grocery list too), and the entire time Kay prattled on about the way they bested those loaves of bread.

Of course, since it was Kay, the story got more grand and more unbelieveable every single time. Eventually they found Jiang, and Kay was holding a basket with his groceries and a second loaf of bread.

"Hi! We beat a monster that tried to eat Deimos! Deimos helped, he was very very brave and did you know that he can turn invisible? That is awesome!"

Deimos kept looking over his shoulder from time to time to check to see if they were being followed but seeing that for the moment that they were alone was good. A smile appeared on the boy's lips and he looked quite relieved. They had made it away from the site of the battle and his attention was then on his friend completely, listening to the way he talked about what they had done in an interesting light, a very embellished and dramatic one that made him smile in an amused fashion. There was something so likable about Kay that he had seemed to have forgotten long ago that he was afraid of him.

After they had gathered everything that Kay was needing they were heading out to find Jiang who was carrying some white wrapped packages. Dei gave them a glance but knew not to ask when he saw packages like that one, he'd been warned before that it wasn't something he wanted to see. He looked over at Kay as he explained what they had done in the most fantastic sort of light which had the pink haired boy smiling a bit. It seemed as though Kay had brought the battle up to about the same level of inflation as his fears made things seem.

Jiang looked over at the boys as they talked about how they had fought with a monster that had tried to eat Dei and... Dei helped? He tilted his head to the side in a thoughtful manner. He wondered what sort of monster they could have run across in the store. Odd. "I am glad to hear that he was able to help out. And yes, the disappearing trick is something new." He said finally, well if there was something dangerous out there and Deimos actually stood up against it he supposed that he should be proud of him, "I have everything else we need, did you get everything you needed Kay?"

"I can hear and see and talk to dead people! ...Oh and do this!" Excited, Kay leaned over and poked a banana...which instantly grew mould and rotted. What was nice and fresh was now disgusting, but the Shaman couldn't have looked any more proud. "And this!" Wagging his finger he poked the rotten banana...and it magically came back! It was fresh again, and just waiting to be eaten. "Na doesn't like it when I help her cook now." He explained with a proud smile.

Oh, but did he have everything he needed? With a hum he looked down at the things he had collected...then slowly nodded. "Yup! I do! Time to check out and go home, Yeah?" Though...he really didn't want to leave Deimos right now!

"See and... talk to..." Deimos's eyes got wide as he explained the first power that he had and looked more then a little startled at the idea. That sounded as though it were a rather scary power to have. Who would want to see and talk with ghosts? Oh he was never happier to find himself lacking then at this moment. The next power that Kay showed off was more interesting, a little icky given he made the banana go from really tasty looking, if a color that Deimos didn't like in the least, to all rotted looking. The look of the rotten fruit made him give a full body shudder from head to toe. It was all... gooey and the smell wasn't to pleasant. That Kay turned it back a short time later was likely the best power that Kay had showed off to them.

"I can see why she wouldn't if the food were made bad but... if you can fix food that spoiled on its own as well that would be an amazing trick." Jiang told the boy, imagine being able to save food that had been very tasty but got forgotten in the fridge or cabinet? The kirin gave a smile and a nod at his words, "Yes, we should go and get checked out." He agreed, leading the way.

"Oh she likes that part!" Kay agreed with a grin, nodding energetically. "But she makes funny faces because she knows that it USED to be bad." He explained, shifting the items in his arm. Nodding again, he wandered towards the check out counter with his new friend and new friend's parent, shrugging his arm out of Deimos' to put his things up on the belt.

The cashier rang it through, and when it came time to pay, Kay moved his bangs out of the way a bit, and stuck a finger into his skull eye socket. With a hum he pulled out the money Switch had given him, handing it to the confused clerk. He got his change and went to collect his bags, looking around for what Deimos and Jiang were up to.

Deimos could understand how she would have a hard time with that information, he wasn't sure how well he would do with eating something that he knew should be bad. Then again he didn't eat bananas anyway, at least not ones he had to peel himself, due to the skins being a bright color he didn't like as well as dangerous since you saw people slipping on them all the time on television. Now that he had feet he had to be careful with such things and not tripping since he didn't want to risk hurting his new limbs.

He followed along after Kay and paused when they got to the cashier, watching as Kay went first to pay for his things. The pink haired boy stared, eyes huge and horrified, as he reached into his skull eye to pull out money. Deimos was pretty certain that he was going to faint dead away then and there... but he was able to keep his feet, if barely. Likely because Jiang had been kind enough to put a hand in front of his eyes when he'd been unable to blink to save himself.

"Come on Dei, we need to pay to." The Kirin said, lead the way to the second line which they went through quickly having only a few items. The white wrapped packages were double bagged to make it even less likely that Dei would see what was inside of the packages. The rest of their items quickly followed into bags of their own before they moved to join Kay who seemed to be waiting for them.
