If someone was looking for a bit more complex of a program then paint I would suggest GIMP. It's opensource and it's a lot like photoshop.

This is a contest and not everyone wins contests. That shouldn't stop you from trying. I made a banner the other day, it's not too complicated and didn't take me too long to make either. I also donated to this competition because I don't plan on winning and I had a few extra gold laying around.

Don't make a banner and expect it to be the permanent banner but don't let that keep you from trying either. Just make one for the fun of it. Don't worry if it's good or not.

I cannot guarantee anything...but I will try and come up with something! ^_^

I second this. Gimp is one of the best gratis, no spyware, no strings attached art/photo editing programs out there.

If someone needs another version for Mac or older Windows, I might be able to find some, but it'd be faster for you to Google "Gimp Windows Vista" for example and find a download that way.
