"You never know," Pur said philosophically when Kivuli said he wouldn't be slowed by his evil nature. "It was worth a try."
She composed herself and sat primly. "Why would I run away? You caught me fairly. I don't plan to stay forever, but if I'm going to be with you until I can convince you to let me go, I may as well live in comfort."
She thought this was very mature of her. She was too young to know that in a real kidnapping situation being made to clean and hunt would probably be the least of her worries. Realistically, she'd probably have to be more concerned about being put to use for a different, more debasing kind of slavery. For now she was too young to have any idea, however.
"A princess can do anything she decides to do, and I have decided not to be difficult unless you make me. I certainly can't overpower you or outrun you, so it seems like a good idea to have you not be mad at me. Maybe you'll be overcome by guilt and release me."
Actually, she wasn't sure why she'd chosen a white rabbit. It just seemed like something difficult to procure on a daily basis. She made something up on the spot.
"I want a white rabbit because I like how their fur looks so clean. It makes them taste better."

Kivuli cocked a brow at his daughter and then smiled a big toothy, somewhat evil grin. "Very well you majesty," he said giving her a bow. "I will catch you a white rabbit every day as long as you promise to not run away while I am out doing so." He laid down beside her looking out at the commoners area, or the rogue lands he supposed since they were pretending to be out there at this moment. "You know a white rabbit will not be easy to find. But I am willing to find one if it pleases you."
Maw opened in a yawn and his eyes looked at the sky for a few moments. Oh my, he needed to get back to his duties. He hadn't realized just how long they had been out here. "Pur, I must get back to my duties. I cannot be late." Kivuli was a lion who prided himself on never being late, and today was to be no exception. Raising himself to his paws he gave his body a shake and looked down at his daughter. "Come on, let's hurry home. We can continue this game another time." Giving Pur a nudge he began to lead the way home. Luckily they weren't all that far from it.

"I won't," Pur said sweetly. She might poison him, but she wouldn't run away while he was out catching a white rabbit for her. Princesses had too much honor to do something like that. She settled more comfortably. This was fun.
When Kivuli looked at the sky, Pur knew even before he said it that their time together was coming to an end. She was proud of how important her father was, and how he had duties to attend to, and so she wasn't about to protest when he said he had to go.
"All right," she agreed, getting up at Kivuli's nudge and then scampering after him. His legs were longer than hers, and probably always would be, but she hoped that when she grew up she wouldn't have to scamper to keep up with him. It felt so undignified. Oh well. A lion couldn't be dignified all the time.
"Thank you for playing with me," she said, remembering her manners. It was always good to be polite. Her mother said so, and she knew all about these things. "It was fun."

"You are very welcome Pur." Kivuli smiled at his daughter as they continued their way back to their home. When they reached the entrance of the den he stopped. "We will play again some time soon." He lowered his head and gave her a nuzzle. "Now go on inside. I shouldn't be gone long."
After waiting a moment to make sure she went inside, not that he doubted she wouldn't, Kivuli turned and padded off. That little time spent playing with Pur had been a great way to pass the time between his duties and he looked forward to doing so again, as well as spending some private time with each of his children. That made him think, he would need to have a talk with Nyota soon, though he didn't necessarily disapprove of her actions, wandering off could prove dangerous. Giving his head a shake he cleared his mind and continued on. Another time, he told himself, another time.
