Oh, today was shaping up to be so impossibly horrible! She'd that wonderfully splendid looking man at the inn. He was especially handsome, even if he was drinking a drink or two too many. Plus, he had that absolutely giant sword. It was so long, and hard, much more pleasing to the eye than the wimpy little daggers and short swords that most men in these parts carried. Maybe it was a genetic thing, the disposition to take up a small sword, when one's body would surely look quite capable of handling more. She'd traveled all the way from Marpha to the now out-of-order Verdane Castle, and she was finding out, much to her chagrin, that there were slim pickings in the wake of what was once a prosperous castle.

She absolutely HATED it.

But she couldn't go back to Marpha, oh no. That would just be such a bad idea! After all, she'd left that place on rather bad terms. Plus, they were savages. Savages with big swords and all, but still savages. And savages were harder to kill if they tried to mess with her! But back to the night before. Meryl had, of course, flocked to the vagabond like a moth to a flame. One thing led to another, and soon she was carting his over-intoxicated carcass up to a room in the inn.

It was as simple as picking the lock to the next room over, luckily it was empty, and getting to work! First, she slid off his pants. They were a bit too baggy for a swordsman to be able to maneuver in, anyhow. Plus, he wouldn't need them, the way the night was going. Then, she took off his shirt, threw it on a dresser, just like the pants. He wouldn't need that either. She slid the sword from its sheath as it sat on top of the pants, taking great care not to have any sort of blade-based mishaps. After all, blood would make things quite difficult, not to mention messy.

With a deep breath, she took the shaft in her small, but nimble hands, and began to rub it slowly and carefully, a slight laugh as she did so. This was going to be so fun! And he was absolutely hammered, too, so he couldn't do anything about it! The girl let out a cruel laugh before she turned her gaze to the other side of the room, only glaring at the door. It would be absolutely terrible if someone came in on this, after all. It would look bad for her, to say the least, taking advantage of a man's drunkenness like she was. So she had to be really, really careful.

So, she eased off with the hands, instead taking her time to properly align the man's body. She propped him up against the back wall, his spine laying along the ground, with his legs going up along the wall. He was up against the back wall, so there'd be nobody on the other side, and any noise anyone might pick up would probably be registered as little more than "young kids doing their thing" or however the creepy old priests preferred to put it.

She sighed, placing her hands once more on the shaft. It was still warm, too. Sent a shiver down her spine. She firmly gripped the shaft, and gave it a powerful thrust. ...Whoa, didn't expect something to happen this early. After all, the wood could only be so firm, or else it would all be pointless!

Meryl sighed at how easily the sword's blade went through the wall. She could tell that it was sweaty just from touching it, but she didn't expect it to slip! And really, if a wall was that brittle, there could be all sorts of dangers just from being in this stupid building! But she's wasted so much time and effort just traveling here, and all for nothing? No interesting people, no fun to be had, she had to take her frustrations out on something! And this guy was rather fitting, for it.

With the sword prepared, the girl took the man's shirt, holding it by the sleeves. With a disgusted scowl, she dropped one sleeve, and took to crossing the man's wrists. Then, she tied the sleeves in two separate knots around his wrists. His arms were subdued, now! Next came the pants. Meryl took them in her hand, noting a small increase in weight on one side. Upon closer investigation, it turned out to be the man's wallet! Score!

She tossed the wallet aside, waiting for the thump as it landed against the mattress, before continuing with the pants. The girl pulled the man up, putting him in an impromptu handstand. As the fear that the man would tip over and slam into the floor slowly increased, Meryl got quicker and quicker. The ankles were each given a pant leg tied around them. Meryl sighed, before giving the man's body a strong (by her standards) tug upwards, pulling the rest of the pants over the blade that was sticking out of the wall.

Now, the man was barely hanging above the floor, arms bound, legs on either side of a large sword. When he woke up, whenever that would be, he'd be in for a nasty surprise. If he flailed around in the wrong ways, he could easily send the sword falling down, right into that spot. Not to mention, he was almost naked, and soon to be without a wallet!

Meryl let out a snide giggle before snatching the wallet off of the bed, and leaving the room. It would be a surprise for whichever idiotic barbarian ended up in that room. And she had a room all to herself, paid for by the generosity of her poor victim, too. So, she drifted off to sleep in her room, content with the increased size of her wallet.

Of course, she didn't sleep long. The sound of a loud thud in the next room over, along with a pained scream, prompted her to get out of there. So, Meryl opened the window, hopped out, and crept into a building on the other side of the street.

...and it was broad daylight in the middle of some plaza, what the hell. And it was cold! Hardly good weather for her to be wearing something like her current clothing choice, after all. But, she was clearly far from the forest-coated country of Verdane. It was warm there, for one. Plus, these people all looked so... so... so... different! None of them looked quite like the types that filled the streets during her life, that's for sure. Her mind flashed to her daggers. These people were different, she may need them. They could be, like, cultists, or something, like her brother told her about when she was younger. Cultists tended to do terrible things to women and children, after all...

"Hey! Hey you!" He heard someone say. She wasn't going to bother with this person if it applied to her. She didn't even bother to turn around to if it is was her and if he tried anything, well there are nice charms to being a woman.

She didn't even turn around.

That was annoying but maybe she hadn't heard him, so he called out again, "Hey! Melethia!" either she was deaf or was just plain rude..... people really got on his nerves sometimes.

So he hurried after her closing the distance slowly but not coming close enough to get set on fire again.

It hadn't been enjoyable the last time.

"Hey! Melethia!" So it was for her. She wasn't going to deal with it. She had a good clue who it was anyway. She wasn't about to let him stop her. She wanted to spend some time with Roy. She started to pick up her pace.

"STALKER! GET AWAY STALKER!" She yelled as she ran. That would get some heads turning to Joshua, who was following her.

Through the streets Ziaram was going, when it was the fool Joshua he saw chasing after...a dragon sage? Wait...she was the one that had last been with Shento...better help here. Chasing after Joshua, upon catching him, he grabbed his shoulder...balled his hand into a fist...then proceeded to punch his side...hard. "Let her go pal...yet I do thank you for this. I had to go and talk to her about something anyways."

Leaving Joshua in pain, he then dashed off after Mel, since he wanted to talk to her about Shento...he never did talk to her after the battle and he never found her to talk to her in the first place. That would change here.

Joshua at first didn't have much of a reaction to Melethia's stalker yelling at first, until some people started giving him looks as he ran by them, then he realized the potential at trouble causing the phrase held.

"Offical guard business." He told anyone who looked like they might try something, still you there was always someone who would try to be a hero and when a hand fell down on his shoulder you can't say he was fully surprised.

Still he had been expecting a tackle, not a kidney punch. So as Ziaram ran by him Joshua stopped for a moment to catch his breath and massage his side, more people were staring now so he repeated what had become his mantra for the moment. "Offical gaurd business." With a storm trooper inspired "Move along" thrown in for good measure.

Then the swordmaster was running again, sprinting really and ignoring a dull pain in his side that was more of an annoyance then anything. Of course having more experience at running then the myrmidon who hit him it hadn't taken Joshua long to catch up with him, slowing his pace to run beside Ziaram he suddenly hip checked the smaller man.

To slow him down from getting back up the check had been timed so Ziaram crashed into a cart of cabbages with an old man standing beside it that probably didn't expect a stranger to come crashing into his wares and crush them all.

As Joshua ran after Melethia a loud, "MY CABBAGES!" Followed by a whap which could only be the man hitting Ziaram with something floated after him and brought a smile to his lips. Oh yes, Ziaram was going to be much too busy paying for a bunch of cabbages to catch back up.

"Offical gaurd business!" He yelled back, Vaida wasn't going to be pleased when she heard about this. If he was lucky she wouldn't hear about this. And if she did it didn’t really matter, he’d just get chewed out and probably get forced into more training.

Melethia couldn't run forever and Joshua didn't plan on getting close enough for her to try and fry him again so he'd just keep running like this until she got tired and gave up.

He was very determined about getting restitution for the hat, maybe it wasn’t even about the hat anymore but was about the principal.

Okay, what to pack? What to pack? Rajin thought as he walked humbly down the street. He knew it would take him over a month to retrieve the artifact. Therefore, he had to get everything ready before going.

He would need to pack all the money that he had, food, some fresh clothing to change, food, some sleeping supplies. Did he remember food? Maybe he should ask Helen to pack up for him before leaving. Unless that old man Tibarn decided not to. Damn that Hawk King.

As he continued walking, he suddenly saw a blur flew passed him. He stopped and looked at the direction that passed him. Was that a red-haired woman that went passed him? Huh. He wondered what made that woman in a mad dash. Suddenly, he heard another footstep coming.

Before the tiger got the chance to see what was coming, he was collided with a force. Trying not to fall off his balance, he grabbed whatever it was that pushed him. Unfortunately, that didn't stop him from falling.

Rajin and the force began to roll down the street like doing a barrel roll down the hill. At the T intersection, they crashed into the wall.

"Grrr.... My head." Rajin groaned as he rubbed his head. Okay, now he understood why that woman was running. It was because of this idiot who crashed into him. Speaking about an idiot....

Rajin looked around to find the person who crashed into him. Didn't that idiot see where he was going? If not, then the tiger was going to beat the living tard out of him. There was no one nearby except passerby. Then where the ******** was he?

Suddenly, he felt a movement beneath him. Looking down, the tiger saw a familiar face.

"Oh no, not you again!" Rajin growled as he looked down at Joshua.

Looking back for a moment to see if Ziaram was catching up proved to be a mistake, as he then collided with what seemed to be a small elephant. Even though Joshua had been the one who collided with the stranger who had made the mistake of standing in the middle of the street it felt like he'd been run over by a truck.

Rolling down the street cursing as he did Joshua soon came to a sudden halt, normally this would be a good thing but seeing as of how the small elephant was sitting on his back and he couldn't move this went in his "Not so good" books.

A few passerbies’s stopped to laugh at the scene, a tiger laguz sitting cross legged on top of a swordmaster, who was splayed out like a roadkill'd toad, and was wearing at hat which had miraculously stayed on his head the entire prolonged crash that had now slid down over his eyes. Not a sight you saw every day.

Joshua reached up and slid his hat back and squirmed a bit to see who was sitting atop him, "Oh, hey Rajin...... errrr I take it this means you decided to take me up on my offer? You mind getting off of me?" He'd given Melethia up for lost now; he'd been unable to keep track of where he was going, let alone the fleeing sage.

Oh well, he'd get her later.

User ImageHer eyes grew big and teary before she let out a wail. Where were all the lovely couples? It was her duty to make people fall in love. How could she make people fall in love if there were no couples around. It was as if she was a plague for them to avoid.

"No! No! No! No!" Psyche grew a tantrum as she stumped her foot to the ground. She had made sure that no one would ever sense her. It was the first rule her Commander Eros had taught her. Never get caught by mortals while working on the job. After all, who never what would happen if these mortals mistaken her arrows as ordinary weapons. It would be a disaster in the field and the God of War would be throwing a tantrum to her Goddess. Oh no. She couldn't let that happened. That would be dreadful to her Goddess. And her commander. Oh.... She couldn't fail him and made him lose his job. She loved him dearly.

But how could she performed her job if there were no couples around? Not even one.

"HEY! Where are you?!" Psyche yelled at the crowd, despite that they were unable to hear her scream. "I didn't come all the way here to see BORING people doing NOTHING!"

If Fefga was here and heard this, she would have smacked the cupid's head for being air-headed. Suddenly, she heard a loud crash, followed by few laughter nearby. What was that?

Turning around, the cupid saw what appeared to be a man with odd ears sitting on top of an stranger. What that man cosplaying as a kitty? Oh, how she loved kitties! Kitties were so cute and cuddlely, and- Ahem, sorry. A bit of distraction for her.

Looking down at the stranger the kitty man sat, she only saw a long haired. She couldn't see the chest of the strange due to Mr. Kitty Man sitting on top, but she assumed that it was a woman. And judging from Mr. Kitty Man's face, he was being frumpy to the woman. What did that woman do? Wasn't it HIS job to court the woman?

"Don't worry!" Psyche let out a shout to the woman. Again, she was STILL unable to be heard by anyone. "I'll make Mr. Grumpy Kitty Man fall for you!"

Psyche pulled out her arrow as she flapped her wings up. It was hard for her to shoot Mr. Kitty Man with passerby around. Now able to get a clear shot, the cupid pulled the string and shot, aiming its course to Mr. Grumpy Kitty Man.

Now that her mission with those lovely couple, Psyche soared through the air to find more couples in Eyris.

Once the hat slid off of him and back onto the owner's head, he heard the Swordsmaster talked about the bet he proposed when they first met. Bah! The tiger didn't have time to do his stupid bet. He had other plans to do, mainly treasure hunting.

Growled in annoyance, Rajin punched Joshua's side firmly before getting up. As he dusted the dirt off of him, the tiger began to walk away.

"Damnit! Keep your stupid bets to yourself and leave me alo-RAWR!" Rajin yelped as he felt something small and hard shot him from behind. Damnit, the swindler was shooting coin at him. It was bad enough that the swordsman was pestering him like a flea, but to agitate him?

"Damnit! That does it!" Rajin roared as he turned around and grabbed Joshua by the shirt collar. The tiger growled as he stared angrily at Joshua and shouted.

"What the ******** is your..."Rajin's voice trialed down as he took a good look at Joshua. Now that he looked at him carefully, he never noticed how.... handsome Joshua was. The long, red hair reminded him of the Gallian royal family's mane. His eyes shined brightly like rubies. The tiger didn't know how bright those eyes were. And the hat, where did the swordsman get it? That hat made him looked so cool. Damn, why did Rajin never lik-, no, LOVE him from the beginning? The tiger didn't know. But he was glad that Joshua shot his coin to get his attention.

"On second thought..." Rajin talked soothing as he loosened Joshua's shirt collar. He then grabbed the swordsman's wrist and pulled Joshua toward him as his other arm wrapped around his waist. Rajin took a deep breathe at Joshua. The swordsman smelled a little musky. When was the last time Joshua took a bath? Bah, that didn't bother Rajin. The tiger would give him a bath, feline style.

"Let's make a bet. You, me, in the bed. Let's see who will end up on top." Rajin let out a seductive smile. If Joshua listened closely, he would hear a low, soft growl that sounded similar to a purr. As for the bet Rajin proposed, he didn't give a damn about it. He knew very well which position he would end up. What Rajin wanted to see was how feisty the swordsman was in bed.

User ImageTibarn wandered slowly down the street, stretching. He had a lot to think about lately, and he found himself personally going in to work less and less often; he wanted to spend more time with his little girl, and the place didn't seem to need him anymore. It just... wasn't quite as fun these days, with most of the actual work being done by the rest of the kitchen staff.

He sighed, cocking his head to the side. With all the mess from the last month, and all the people who had confessed to missing him...

He'd been on his way to put in a few hours at work, but the sudden desire to speak with Amelia gripped him. He quickly turned back and started heading toward Adliana Yard, in hopes to catch her in the Watch house, but something unusual caught his attention as he turned the corner off Main street, and he slowly came to a halt, blinking his golden eyes at perhaps the most unusual thing he'd ever seen.

He shook his head slowly, coming to his senses and maneuvering around Joshua and Rajin. "I knew there was somethin' wrong with that boy," he murmured as he walked by, and he tossed the jogging Melethia a curious glance as she continued to run down the street and around the corner.

The crowds were thick due to the sales taking place in the marketplace all day, and even though crowds tended to part around a figure as imposing as the Hawk King, he found his progress impeded. There was a bit of a commotion and people diving away as he snapped his wings open, and moments later he was soaring just above the rooftops on his way to see the young lady General.

Roy wandered about some more, whistling a tune. He had nowhere to go, nothing better to do, so nothing beat wandering about right now. It wasn't long before he wandered out of a side street and passed Joshua and a tiger laguz, and he couldn't help but smirk. The long-haired redhead was in the arms of the tiger.

Who knew the Jehenna prince was gay?

Roy left the couple alone and continued down the road, going in the opposite direction as Tibarn, who he had just passed some moments before seeing Joshua and the tiger.

((He pretty much missed Melethia right there, coming through that side street.))

As Rajin got up and punched him Joshua let out a woof of breath as he himself got up, massaging his poor kidney for a second. Oh my now the tiger jumped as if somehing hit him like as if he had been hit by a rock.

Did someone actually just throw a rock at the tiger? The grumpy kitty himself? Oh joy now the kitty thought he threw whatever it was, as he was lifted into the air Joshua's mind kicked into overdrive as he tried to think of a way out of this situation.

This is why he was totally unprepared for this new devolpement. As Rajin let go of his collar the swordmaster was realived, for all of five seconds as Rajin put on a tone of voice that Joshua had used and heard used before, the tiger tried to sound soothing but Joshua most definitely was not soothed. In fact he was terrified; this was the most scariest thing that had ever happened to him. Demon King? No problem. Tiger in heat? Problem. Unable to react to Rajin's sudden affection apart from the biggest eye twitch imaginable and a jaw which had dropped to his ankles he was too shocked to struggle.

He let out a startled squeak when Rajin suddenly pulled him in close and started smelling his hair, and that arm around his waist? Ya that was creeping lower and lower and Joshua could guess its eventual destination if he didn’t do something, and was the tiger purring? Oh God he was!

"Let's make a bet. You, me, in the bed. Let's see who will end up on top."

The swordmaster had a feeling he knew who would be on top, and started struggling in the laguz's grip. "R-Rajin." He suddenly spotted Roy whistling a tune as he headed down the street and called out with ever growing panic. "R-Roy! Help me!"

Love was in the air, not that the mage knew it, nor did he usually care about it. He was minding his own business and definitely not thinking about half insane cupids shooting unsuspecting people with arrows when a woman plowed into him and sent the mage flying backwards, skidding along the cobblestones.

Shocked Derrin lay on his back as he saw who had just ran him over recede into the distance, a woman with dark red hair. If he wasn't so surprised he would have chased after her.

Instead he settled for lying on the ground for a moment before getting up, dusting himself off, and then throwing curses out randomly at anything that moved on the street.

User ImageLance was cringing around. He could hear the voices all around him, and the movement was seriously starting to tick him off. He was semi-sleeping by now, but with all the noise, that was about to change...

He covered his eyes at first, trying to block everything out, but finally he snapped his eyes open. "...rwaaAARGH! You muppets! I was restin' so peacefully, and now every single one of you is disturbin' that peace! How in Tymora's name can you all be so bleedin' LOUD!"

The sight that met him puzzled him.

Why was everyone slugging around, looking like cats in heat, and squealing and doing whatever else one could do at this point...

"...I must be dreamin'...that's probably it..." Lance mumbled as he massaged his temples, an action he had gotten too accustomed to lately.
