personality : Calm and slightly curious, Song is a wonderful companion to the normally apathetic Y'ul. She doesn't require much and is hardly vocal, save when Y'ul hums and she decides to whistle along. She spends most of her time on Y'ul's shoulders or beneath the woman's shirt, preferring not to be seen. This has not changed even with the passing of time, though Song does occasionally chirp to other flitts and is slowly becoming more social with the group.
Y'ul has never seen Song try to fly save for her first Flight, though said event was very short and very fast. Since that time Song had not left the woman's shoulders or her arms, more than content to either be held or to run on the ground. There is nothing physically wrong with the Gold, as she can still rise for Flight, so her grounded nature appears to be more personality-based.
Her position in the flitt group is that of the kind older sister. She does not take an active role in guiding anyone, even the two that she has clutched. Song has yet to use her 'influence' on any flitters and probably never will, seeing as she is probably the most demure flitt out of the group. She gets along very well with Tune and Verse, perhaps because she has clutched them, though she shows no signs of negativity towards the other females nor any sort of possessiveness over Y'ul.
obtained via : A gift (of apology) from Jada, seeing as her Gold decided to clutch on Y'ul's pants. This egg was the larger of the two that came in the pair, the other handed off to a random bluerider (who turned out to be L'pin - the egg hatched into a Green)

personality :
Chantey's position in the group is the leader despite her being the younger Gold. It is because of Song's quiet gentleness that she is allowed to rule the roost, and rule she does. Unabashed at influencing others to do her will she takes great delight at getting various things from her companions, though she leaves Tune alone and seldom pesters Song unless it is to get help from the agitated Brown.
obtained via : A gift (?) from Y'kar and Jasrai to Y'ul. The Greenrider doesn't think they knew it was a Gold when they gave it to her or else it wouldn't have ended up in her hands. She didn't want it but took the egg anyway, not the type to openly refuse a gift. That's just rude.

personality :
As the Bronze in the group Verse naturally is second in command, though he takes his power in greater stride than Chantey does. Unwilling to show an ego and treating all those around him as if they were his equals, the Bronze tends to act more as a peacekeeper should Song be unable to contacted to quell Tone's wrath. He also appears to be the only flitt able to tolerate Hymn.
obtained via : Hatched from Song's second clutch (flown by Brown Bark). This egg went unnoticed by Y'ul and ended up stayed incubated thanks to rider's body heat and the location of where it had rolled after being clutched. If the rider has found this egg chances are she would have given it away as well.

color : Brown
personality : Always angry over something or always scared over something, Tune is a high-strung flitt that makes Y'ul wonder if his father wasn't a certain Blue that she knew her Gold to be quite fond of. His anger usually only manifests when he is pushed to a point that he can no longer act fearful it seems to be a more common trait of his, with hissing and snapping at wayward fingers a daily occurrence. While he has never snapped at Y'ul or Song he certainly has done so at Hymn and even at Erath, considering both of the Greens to be some kind of annoyance or threat.
Willing to avoid contact with other flitters in an effort to keep to himself, Tone does not show any interest in chasing any females - be them Gold or Green. His relationship with Hymn is very strained when the Green becomes proddy, and he has been seen acting more violent towards her. He avoids Chantey altogether, and that particular Gold often returns the favor.
Tone's spot is one of the lower ones in the group, the others handling him but a little better than Hymn. Song shows great affection towards him, having clutched him (she probably would still be nice even if she hadn't) and his younger sibling Verse treats him well. He does not like the affections or attentions of anyone but Song and hisses when they draw near, causing a wide berth to be developed about him.
obtained via : Hatched from an egg from Song's first clutch (flown by Bronze Adorn). His egg was actually quite small and ended up hatching in a hurry, leaving the woman no time to pass it off like she'd wanted to any other person in the Weyr.

personality :
Mid-level in terms of the flitt group ranking, Dirge is accepted by all parties (though hesitantly in the case of Tune). Song and Chantey enjoy him for his mellow yet charming personality, while Hymn likes his company when he dares give it to her. Verse is generally indifferent, though glad to have someone else help keep the peace when things get flared up.
obtained via : Hatched from Song's third clutch (flown by Blue Shiver). Y'ul was actually slightly loathe to get rid of any of these eggs, seeing as Song was actually quite attached to them and protected them with more strength and spirit then she had any previous clutch. It was only after hard picking that she decided to keep the egg that would hatch her small blue, the rest being left to chance.

color : Green
personality : Overly affectionate, to the point it's almost smothering, Hymn demands almost nearly as much time on and near Y'ul as Song does, though Hymn can be easily tossed into the air for the rider to get some space. She usually protests such actions with loud chirps and hurt feelings, as though she's been abused, though such crying only lasts as long as she can remember to keep at it or until Song politely asks her to stop. Her favorite person to bother if she can't be with Y'ul is either Erath or Tune, though Tune usually snaps at her and sends her on her way, while Erath ignores her.
Extremely lustful due in part to personality or breeding, Hymn is often found in the company of male flitts and usually in a state of ready to clutch. She is very flirty and will make passes at any color of male that she sees, regardless of their relationship to her or any other flitter she may happen to slightly know.
Probably considered the lowest rank in the flitt group, Hymn spends most of her time under the constant dislike of the other flitters (save for Song and Verse). Either blissfully ignorant or unaware of the feelings of the group the Green does as she pleases to even her person's irritation, Y'ul wishing often she'd let the thing starve in its hatching rather than be saddled with her.
obtained via : Y'ul isn't really sure how she came across Hymn, waking up one morning to find the little Green in her bed. Hymn was probably a wild that she attracted in the middle of the night, but the story will never be properly known. (Erath seemed to know, but she forgot after a few days anyway)

I still can't believe that I've Impressed. Me, of all people. I never thought that something like this could happen, not with how 'damaged' I am based on how I was raised.
Father often told me a dragon doesn't look at girls who aren't what they are supposed to be, or at girls at all for that matter, but I have a feeling that Erath looked at me for just that reason - that I was female. There's something about the way she came right for me after hatching from her egg that makes me wonder if she knew where I was amongst the boys without any trouble.
But then again, I had been amongst the boys. Had I been standing with the women would she have chosen me then? I get the feeling that asking her will result in a large yes no matter what. There's no room for arguing with her, as she stays at my side through thick and thin.
This relationship will help us both prosper I believe, should we manage to not kill one another before the first Turn has come. I should write to my father and tell him of all of this. I wonder what his face would look like. . . .

Erath says that a dragon has passed on - a bronze. I felt it when she felt it, and the flitts all responded the same way. Apparently it was the bronze of the Weyrleader in High Reaches - something about the plague. I'd only heard rumors, I never wanted to believe in something like that.
I don't know what we'll do from here on out, but Erath doesn't seem even the slightest bit frazzled but all of this. She says I should follow her lead and calm down, we're sage at Telgar and the other dragons who could have gotten sick are probably gone somewhere safe but. . .well.
If the plague comes here, trouble.
