He glanced around a little, but it still seemed quiet. Bah, this pack was so lazy now, no one to fight or agitate. Boring.
"I hadn't really thought about it much," he replied honestly. "When the rains come, some of the skulls can get filled with water, but it only lasts so long." His tail swatted at some flies that were following him, damn little things couldn't keep themselves away at times. "We have water here, but it isn't always as clean as what we find just outside our border." Blech, it was gross, but it worked. No one had ever gotten sick off of it as far as he knew.
The start of the elephant skeletons began, looming over him. He paused, in case she wanted to look more carefully. "I think we live here for what it is. A graveyard, scary, intimidating."

Tamu nodded as they walked, occasionally slipping on a loose bone. As the skeletons of the elephants came into view, her bright eyes widened and her mouth fell open slightly.
They were.... huge!
The little female grinned at Mbezi, trotting over to the nearest elephant skull. She admired the tusks, then put her head in the orbit, amazed that this is where an elephants eye was; and it was big enough for her head to fit!
"Wow, this is amazing!" She said with a laugh, "I can see why you stay here, I bet most creature's stay away. It's a good place for a pack, actually." She said with a smile, looking over to him and wagging her tail.
"Are there a lot of skeletons this big? This must have been quite a beast when it was alive!" She looked at the tusks again, imagining how much damage they could do in life.

Mbezi shrugged his shoulders. "We actually had competition with a lion pride for some of the land for a while. They disappeared. While it wasn't too fun to keep an eye on them and make sure they didn't take anymore land than they already had, it got a little boring around here once they left." Mbezi wanted a little more fun, but he wasn't stupid enough to make plans. His mother would whip his a** if he tried.
He watched her, amused, remembering how he'd run around as a pup, as his imagination ran wild when he was little. There was so much to explore he had never gotten bored of it; he had had to grow out of it.
"Oh, it goes on for a while," he said. "Some skeletons are pretty destroyed, some are still pretty strong. We sleep in 'em when the weather stinks, like when it rains." Otherwise, they'd all be wet, and the thin, dark dirt on the ground turned into disasterous mud.

Tamu listened intently to his tale, nodding her head as he spoke. She frowned slightly, "Well, that sounds like it was kind of dangerous. Stupid lions. They seem to always think they're better than everyone else." She really had nothing against lions; she hadn't met very many, but she had heard things about them from her mother and other hyenas.
"You need to make your own fun! Then you won't be bored." She smiled brightly, her eyes closing and her tail wagging fast.
"Do you wanna keep exploring? It's so exciting here!" Her tail continued to wag as she scanned the area. In all honesty the little hyena was slightly frightened, but she didn't want her new friend to know that, and she wanted to spend more time with him as well.

He shrugged. "I didn't really have to deal with them too much; I was kind of young. Still, it wasn't really that much fun to deal with. Especially with the kind of pickin's we get around here for food, if you get what I mean." He flicked his tail, but grinned. "Though, I know we swiped food from them a lot." And he knew that that was a lot of fun, even if he missed out on it.
He looked around, listening to her and the sounds around them. It was quiet, as most of the pack had shambled into just lazy dogs. Still...
"Sure, would you like to lead the way a bit?" he asked, intrigued by her out-put bravery. "I'll letcha know if we're not going into a good play, though."
He followed after her, still intrigued by this hyena, and curious to see where this was going to go.
