Victoria couldn't help but laugh at being called a whippersnapper. An Elder with a sense of humor. Tori really could get used to this. And she had to admit to herself that Loki looked adorible when he pouted at her. But Loki didn't pout in the annoying way one of her brothers would. Maybe that's what made him look cute when he pouted. That and the fact he was an Elder.
"Ha. I doubt you could have run with us whippersnappers in your prime time. We Lunarie foxes have a reputation for our rambunctious behavior." Tori didn't even try to keep the think sarcasim from her voice and couldn't help but laugh again.
Her laugh stopped when she heard Loki sigh and talk about the other Elder of his tribe. The young vixen had to resist the urge to ask Loki to stay with her tribe during his 'vacation'. Truth be told, she really didn't want the cool elder to leave anytime soon. She had most difinitely had more fun this evening than she could remeber having in a long time.
"Where will you go on your vacation? Will your tribe be alright without an Elder around? What'll you do if everyone gets burried in the snow?" Tori had to remind herself at some point not to ask to many questions at one time.

"Lunarie? Rambunctious? I must have missed the news that Ari's modeling his tribe after Bamboo." Loki smiled innocently and then laughed. He couldn't imagine living in a tribe so aimed at serenity like Lunarie; his own tribe did have its quiet moments, but still nowhere near that level.
"I'll probably be around here for awhile. It's been a long few days, and I'm not going to be of any use to my tribe if I go back exhausted. But they'll be fine." He smiled faintly as he thought of his tribe and then kept talking. "They all know how to handle the winter, and the older members are good at managing things when they need to." Truthfully, he wasn't all that keen to take the long road back. He missed home a lot, but at the same time Tori didn't expect anything out of him. That was a nice change.

After Bamboo? What was that? Rambunctious, obviously. Victoria decided that whatever it was, it wasn't that important and didn't have anything to do with her tribe so she didn't ask about it.
Loki would be around here for awhile? Like, a few days? The young vixen had to try hard to hide her excitement. Maybe if she just kept waking up a few extra hours earlier Loki would teach her some tricks of the trade or give her some more Elderly wisdom and stuff.
'Tori shook her head and sighed. Loki was staying here to rest, not to play with her. She looked up at the sky and repressed another sigh. The rest of her tribe would probably be waking up soon which meant that Loki probably need to go to sleep now. The fluffy elder before her needed rest for his journey home and 'Tori suddenly felt as if she was keeping him from that.
"It's cool that your tribe is so well equipped to handle themselves for awhile without an Elder around. We can't even handle one not being around, much less both of them." Victoria looked down, feeling a little ashamed of her tribe for its drama. She knew she should ask him if she was keeping him up but she was afraid he'd say yes. For once, 'Tori wanted to be selfish. She wasn't ready to let Loki go for the night so although he might need to go, Tori planned to keep him awake talking to her for as long as possible.

Loki chuckled and shook his head. "It is only because of how harsh our homeland is. Even with a tribe surrounding you, you won't last long in Kousetsu if yo don't have a good head on your shoulders." More than once a fox had left them because of the barren winter. Even long-time members had left.
Loki shook the thoughts of recent troubles away. "Forgive my prying, Tori, but you do not sound..." he paused to consider the right wording: "Happy, I guess is the word. You speak of your tribe with a certain amount of bitterness, almost." He did not know much about Ari's tribe, so maybe she was just going through her rebellious youth phase where home seemed like a prison. He had gone through that at one point, why shouldn't see? But still, Loki's nature demanded that he always seek to help out those who might need it, so he would make sure Victoria was okay.

Loki's tribe sounded like such a challenge to live in. The young vixen wondered if the reward for living there was worth the challenge and peril. Lunarie was also a challenge to live in but for different reasons. Her tribe wasn't extreme in temperatures but lately there had been so much tension, so much drama that Victoria was starting to feel sufficated by it.
Tori's ears perked up at Loki's observation. Was she that easy to read? "Well..." She started looking a bit sad. "Ari is always depressed it seems like and there is always this tension whenever anyone mentions Kazuki. There are times when I feel like there is a hole in my tribe and I, as well as others, feel the need to fix it. But we just can't. Sometimes I wonder if Lunarie will ever be a joyful place to live." She laid down with a huff and curled her tail around her.
"I mean, I enjoy living in my tribe and being with my family. But the drama is just to much sometimes." She looked up to Loki to see if he could relate to her feelings about her tribe or offer her any advice.

Loki nodded in understanding. "It is hard to deal with the loss of an Elder. I imagine it's hard to hear your mate has died as well." He could somewhat relate to both feelings; Sahari had abandoned him to run the tribe on his own, no matter what she said otherwise. Showing up for a few days and then disappearing once more was more confusing than it was helpful. And, in a way, he had lost a mate as well. He had grown up with Chaussure, but that had not been enough to keep her in Kousetsu with him.
"But the tension won't last forever, Tori," he reassured the vixen next to him. "If Ari is wise, which I have always thought is the case, then his grieving will not long keep him from his tribe. Sometimes..." he paused to chuckle ruefully and shake his head "sometimes our imperfect nature as Elders shows through on us, when we forget that our tribe is just much our family as our mate and children. He will remember that." He took another minute to stretch out stiff muscles. "Drama is unfortunately a fact of life. Just remind yourself that you're always stronger than the words others say."

Tori sat and listened thoughtfully as Loki spoke. Perhaps there was a way she could remind Ari that he still had family and things in their tribe would get better. The young vixen made a mental note to talk to her mom about it later, there were more important things to think about right now. Tori thought it was cool that Loki seemed to be filled with so much advice. But she knew that most of that advice had to come from experience and wasn't just handed to him on a silver platter. She wondered for a brief moment if she would ever have nearly as many experiences as the elder in front of her.
"Do you have a family?" Tori asked changing the subject. "Besides your tribe. Like a mate and children?" They had been talking about so much that the young vixen couldn't remember if he had mentioned family other than his tribe yet. She couldn't help but wonder if Loki came from a big family like she did. It was hard for her to imagine foxes without having grandparents, aunts, uncles, and siblings sometimes. Sometimes she wished she didn't have so many family members, but most of the time she was thankful for them.

((Gonna go ahead and say Loki had his kids with Ianthe already, to make things easier :3))
"I do have a fmaily," Loki nodded. "I had a amte at one point, although she disappeared from the tribe a long tiemago. Probably way before you were born," he teased. "I don't think she was a fan of the snow, so she left." He shrugged; Chaussure was a closed book now.
"I have a family beyond her, though. I have an adopted daughter from when I was barely an Elder, and she has her own mate and children now. More recently, I had accidental children with the Bateau Elder, Ianthe. They're younger than you, I would guess, but they've still been adults for awhile now. Four girls and two boys." He smiled faintly; while he was out in the world, he should make a point on checking up on them. He had a feeling they were still nearby. "Right now, I believe they're off wandering and finding themselves."

Tori wondered what it must have been like for Loki to lose his mate. Just because she wasn't a fan of snow meant that she had to leave him? The young vixen felt herself become a little angry at the though. But she pushed the thoughts to the back of her mind to continue listening. Tori couldn't help but shoot Loki a confused look at his mention of his children. He hadn't meant to have children, a family?
"Accidental children?" She asked, the confused look still on her face. "How do two elders have accidental children?" Surprisingly, she wasn't at all phased to hear that Loki actually had kids, she figured he did, but she was surprised at how he had them. Tori found it interesting that Loki let his children go off and find themselves. She wasn't sure what her parents would do if she told them she was leaving to find herself. Her father, she imagined, would probably ground her for life.

"I hear it's pretty common, actually. I've spoken to other foxes who wake up near each other and don't remember the night before." He shrugged. "I didn't purposefully have children with Ianthe, and she did not with me either. I don't even remember being with her." It was a weird thought, but it was awhiel ago now.
"Like I said, even Elders aren't perfect," he laughed. "But for a mistake, they were an awfully good one. Ianthe and I managed to raise them together until they were old enough to make their own choices."

The thought of waking up next to a fox she didn't know and knowing she'd be having kits with them scared Tori a little bit. Was that what had happened with Arty? Had she just woken up next to some fox and realized he would be the father of her children? Her father had always warned her that bad things could happen if she left the tribe lands, but she always thought he had just been kidding for the most part. Apparently not.
"I didn't mean to say you couldn't mess up." Tori said feeling bad for how she had worded her questions earlier. "It just sounded like you hadn't wanted to have a family. Like..." She paused to think for a minute. "Like it wasn't having them with Ian...t whatever was an accident but like having them at all was an accident." She paused again looking confused again. "I'm not making any sense, sorry." She laughed lightly at herself before waiting for Loki's response to her nonsense.

((Four posts to page 3 8D We should timeskip to them saying they want to be lifemates -shotded-))
Loki shrugged, not minding the questions. "I guess at the time I wasn't looking to have children of my own, but that isn't to say I never wanted a family. I suppose I've always wanted one, but that just...wasn't how I was expecting it to happen." He chuckled to himself; at the time it had been horrifying, but looking back on it the reactions he and Ianthe had both had were pretty hilarious. He'd known the Bateau Elder for some time before that, and he didn't think Ianthe would ever screech quite like that again.

(( XD If you want to timeskip them go ahead lol. I was going to wait till we got to page three for that to make pgs 3-5 mating/life together talk. But feel free to skip whenever you want 8D ))
The young vixen sat and thought about what Loki had said. After caring for her nephew, Tori had mixed feelings about children and a family. On one hand she wanted a family and children to take care of and love. On the other hand she saw just how quickly she and her children would grow up and she didn't really want to take care of them just yet. What she wanted, was a mate. Someone to love and grow up with, but not a child to take care of just yet.
"Well you could always find a mate and have another family, right? Or would your children not approve of that?" The mental image of six little Loki's whining popped into her head making her giggle a little.

((We can do that too :3))
Loki laughed at the idea. "Finding a mate isn't so simple, I'm afraid. I have yet to see someone advertising themselves as eligible." He grinned to show her he was teasing, then sat down with her. "I admit to not having much expertise in the mating game; Chaussure and I grew up together, it just made sense to go from there. Ianthe and I didn't care for each other that way. But from what I hear, things like that just happen."
Loki paused to think about his children. "I imagine they would mind if I, for some reason, chose some complete whackjob vixen as a mate. But I'd like to think I wouldn't choose a whackjob," he snickered. "But no, I don't think they would disapprove. Their mother and I have both lost mates in the past. I think they just want their parents happy."

((I had a much better reply to this last night when my internet gave out T^T ))
Having never had a mate before, or even thinking of having one, Victoria wasn't exactly sure how the whole mating thing went. She had heard many stories about how her mom and dad met and fell in love, thus deciding to become mates, but that just seemed so ideal. Tori had always figured her parents were the exception at love and mating wasn't always that easy.
Loki seemed to be proving her theory true. He had lost a mate just like Elder Ari and Grandpa Nato. But Grandpa Nato had Grandma Anjafey now, so it was probably still possible for Loki to find a good mate. Unless he was to emotional like Ari. Tori almost laughed at the thought. She doubted anyone could be as emotional as Ari.
"Well you should find a mate to be happy with." Tori piped up, her smile bright. "Then your children could have a Step-Mommy like my mom has. My Mommy loves her Step-Mommy. Maybe your kids would adopt your mate as their other Mommy and everyone would be happy." As the words left her mouth, Tori knew how idealistic she sounded. But if it could happen in her family, she was sure it could happen in someone else's.
