Smiling, glad that she was ok, but betting the impact hadn't helped with her breathing, not surprised she was panting. Though she looked like it was more than just being a little breathless. Smiling at her. "Have a roll in the grass, then come with me, it looks like your not enjoying that very much so I know where some sweeter grasses are if you like." Having a roll in the grass himself, the cool gras refreshing. Prancing in another circle, feeling good after trotting round a little, all lostend up again. Stopping once he was donw with that, looking at her to see if she wanted to find something nicer to eat.

A roll in the grass, huh? Well, it would help her a great deal, she supposed. So, she threw herself on the ground and started to roll around, getting the sweat off of her and getting a better scent on her. Where would he take her? It was odd; but she thought all the grass was bitter at this time of year. Right? Apparently she was wrong. Getting to her hooves again, Jaloo had flecks of grass in her main and tail, but whatever. She wasn't trying to impress him! She was just trying to be his friend, or something! She had to trot quickly to catch up to him and she grinned when she got there. "Where are we going? I've never heard of non bitter grass in the winter."

Cael grinnd at her as she caught up with him, thinking that she seemd more settled after the roll, knowing sweat under the fur could be really irritating. "Well there is places in the middle of the forest where the snow didn't get, theres even an apple tree with a few apples on it, there not as nice as fresh ones but there still better than this old grass." Wandering along happily enough, there not many apples left, but with the snow gone and going there will be more food around. "So do you not come into the woods much?" Looking at her as they walk along, not really on a path but there was some kind of cleared trail he was following.

Not come to the woods much was a little bit of an understatement. "I come here more and more often, just... not every day. Like... I don't go far into the woods, because it makes me slightly uncomfortable." She shifted a little bit and looked to him again. It was nice to actually just have a friend instead of someone flirting with her. Jaloo didn't know how many guys she'd met tried to be her mate or something like that. Being told she was 'pretty' or 'beautiful' didn't always sit right with this mare.
But still, she followed along side of him just the same stretching her legs every once in a while. "Even if the apples aren't fresh, it has to be better than what I was just trying to eat." She wrinkled her nose in distaste at it. Maybe it was a bad idea on her part. "What about you? You go to the river a lot?"

Smiling over at her as they went into the woods more deeply, relieved that this wasn't totally alien to her. "Well maybe if you know it a little better you might visit here more often hmm?" Walking along quite happy in amoungst the trees. Sticking to the bigger paths as they walked along, nodding in agreement. "Yes, even old apples are good compared to old grass, besides if we can get at some of the ones still clinging to the tree they are still yummy."
Pulling a bit of a face, sounding like such a kid using the word yummy. But soon smiling, he didn't care, he was used to hanging round with foals of late, it seeming there was another one every time he turned around. But he didn't mind, they usually wanted to play and he was good with that.

Yummy. What a word to us. It sent her into a fit of giggles that she tried to suppress. Jaloo had to bite on her tongue in order to not laugh directly at it, and tears were forming in her eyes. Clearing her throat, Jaloo nodded a little bit and sighed. "Mm. It does seem better, doesn't it?"
The further they moved in, the more serious she became. Her face contorted with concentration so she'd be able to find her way back. Every once in a while, she'd stop, take in her surroundings looking for a type of land mark. A big, old, half dead tree, a hill full of rabbit dens, that sort of thing. "Maybe... It's all starting to look the same to me..." She murmured, frowning softly.

His ears flatterning a little at her giggles, knowing she was trying not to laugh but he could still hear the muted snickers, but he kept focused on the path they were taking, letting her get it out her system. He might not care but no one liked being laughed at, but he would shrug it off, he was how he was and she would get used to it. Besides his language would change as he spent more time with adults and less with foals.
"Don't worry, I'll show you the way back out, it does look very samey unless your used to it." Turning off the path onto a small trail, heading through some dense trees into a small copse where there was indeed an apple tree with a few apples still clinging to its branches. "Wait here I'll knock them down." Giving a smile and walking over to the trunk of the tree, leaning against it in sudden jerking motions, knocking down some of the apples, one or 2 left clinging to the tree between the budding leaves heralding springs arrival. Smiling over at her when they were done falling off the tree. "Apples for the delight of your tastebuds." Him having found thme to be slightly bitter but juicy.

Jaloo's instinct told her she messed up with snickering, but it just caught her off guard! Still, he hadn't said anything, so maybe he wasn't too mad at her. When he said he'd show her the way out, Jaloo let out a huge sigh of relief. "Thanks, so much. I'd be completely, and utterly lost. For like... days. I have no sense of direction." Which was completely true. She was lost on the beach for a while, once.
After a moment, she started humming and singing a song she'd made up on the fly. It wasn't very good words, but her voice was pretty good; something she inherited from her father.
That's when he kicked the tree and knocked down some apples. Thanking him again, she bent her head to get one of them and crunched on it happily. It wasn't sweet, like she knew it wouldn't be, but it was juicy and a ton better than what she'd been trying to eat.

Cael was soon smiling again, he shrugged most things off easily, besides its not like she had done anything that would really hurt his feelings. Trying not to chuckle, thinking that he needs to find some more friends his own age, though the foals were adorable. Plus he had yet to meet another male of any speices, this a worrying thought, not sure what he would do if he was the only male, though there were foals to the stallions had to be somewhere.
Eating a couple of apples, letting her eat as many as she wanted. Having worked out a better way back to where they started. Though he wasn't sure if that is where she wanted to go when they had eaten. Looking over at her. "When we are done here were you wanting to go back to the river or somewhere else?" Just wanting to know so he knew which way to go.

His question made Jaloo stop and look up towards what sky she could see. It was getting late, she could tell that, and she was growing tired by the minute. All of her reserved energy had been depleted today, which wasn't a bad thing. She'd just sleep longer than usual. "Home, I should think. Which is by the river. My human is probably wondering where I ran off to this time."
Her tone was fond, as if it was a game she played with her human. It was; disappear for a while and watch the funny faces he made while talking to her in that amusing, upset voice. Jaloo's dad was probably a bit worried, too. "Uhn... Yeah, home would be best. I forgot about my dad for a bit."

Smiling as she answers, looking around again while she finishes up. Thinking that they had met by the river so that must be where she lives. Picking a direction and nodding. "Ok, I know which way to go whenever your ready." Not wanting to rush her, more than happy to wait till she wanted to leave. Wandering around a little, checking for other signs of food coming in, as well as making sure he had the right direction picked out.
Smiling at her, his expression a little sad, thinking of hi human mother. "Well lets not keep either of them waiting, worry makes them get older faster." Walking over to a small gap in the bushes. "This is the way to the river."

She finished up quickly enough and trotted after him, though she noticed his expression and then gave a little frown to that. That wasn't supposed to happen. Either way, she didn't comment on it. "I really can't say thanks enough. I'd be lost forEVER if it wasn't for you. But! This isn't the last you'll be seeing of me. I'm sure I'll get lost and need your help again. Maybe next time we can play more."
Her tail flicked as the path slowly became a bit more familiar. "I know the way from here! I'll see you around, yeah?" Without much more talking, or waiting for an answer, the colorful mare pranced off towards the river and her teepee.

Cael just nods and watches the mare head off back home. Turning and walking off back to where his shelter was when she was out of sight. It had been an interesting day.
Finished!
